What a great place to stop off for a bite to eat whilst doing the Otago Rail Trail. There were a lot of families here the day we stopped and the kids were having a great time running around the garden. They have a couple of donkeys here too which enjoy the attention. Food was good with generous portions -...

Great wee spot for a breather before tackling Tigers Hill. Lovely sunny day over Easter so very busy but didn't wait long for our meals. Criss Cross Chips a novelty in generous proportions. Whitebait fritters also a stand out. We could have wiled away a few hours in this lovely spot but the trail was beckoning. Would recommend for a...

Booked here for a staff function (approx 20 people) and were warned that we might have a bit of a wait for food to arrive, were offered alternative of a buffet. Stayed with the menu and we were not disappointed. Service excellent and very prompt, no long wait at all. Menu offeredplenty of variety, something for everyone and portions were...

We stopped in here as part of our Central Otago Trail ride. There were signs posted that stated you were welcomed, as long as you purchased their "food and booze." We ventured in, and would have gladly purchased, but did not feel welcomed at all. There were a group of motorcyclists dining in the bar, and a few others scattered...

Decided to have tea here and a beer. Stewart island blue cod in beer batter and salad with frisky. They use their own sauces and dips which made it all go down a treat. No side were necessary as we were quite full. A nice country pup atmosphere. Nice staff.

Stopped in on the way past on the rail trail and recommend for lunch. Busy in the peak season so expect a wait but worth while. Lovely seafood chowder. Popular with cyclists so be patient. We also had the ribs and that was yummy.

From the minute we walked in we were welcomed with open arms. Lesley was so friendly and treated us as part of the family straight away. The shower was a treat, especially with the heated floor. Delicious food, gorgeous people. We had a wonderful time here and wish we could have stayed longer.

I went through central Otago years ago when the bar lunches were a 4 day old sausage roll. What a difference the rail trail has made. Chatto creek has really good food and drink ad lovely owners. It is a good place to consider staying for the rail trail or stopping in for lunch,. And they are rumoured to have...

This place is Must visit when you craving a good meal in Central Otago. The dishes are very generous and fresh. There is a good selection of dishes from starters to desserts and kids meals. Seating is available inside the dining room, pub side or outside in the beautiful garden. No wonder this place received so many national awards, the...

We reached Chatto Creek Tavern at 4pm after cycling from Cyde on a day which reached 38.5C off the trail and was probably more than 40C on the track. We were both beginning to experience the symptoms of heat exhaustion, and Grace, the lovely bartender, saved our lives with washers filled with ice, a couple of L&Ps and a big...
