Wow, wow, wow...... a piece of paradise in the drought stricken are of Bedford. Rosie and Ken are the perfect hosts to this wonderful guest house. We were a party of 12 visiting the Bedford Garden Show. Rosie's garden was right up there, if not the best. Tranquility and serenity in shades of green and white. The staff were outstanding... More

What a lovely place, Rose and Ken were superb hosts. A special evening with a tasty meal, a wonderful breakfast and a nice walk with the dogs. We stayed in the cottage which was very comfortable, had a look at the rooms, big and specious. Pity we were not there in spring, the gardens would be magnificent. Really homely.

My husband spent a couple of nights last year and about to rebook for this year. The owners were charming, on our arrival, which was later than expected as we got a little lost, we asked where we should go for lunch and in no time at all delicious toasted sandwiches on their terrace were produced. My husband went for... More

Our stop at Cavers Country Guest House was on recommendation from a friend. We were on our way home from the Mountain Zebra Park when the taxis in Fort Beaufort decided to block all access roads into the town. It was obvious we weren't going anywhere for a long time so we decided to head back to Bedford. When I... More

Cavers is probably one of the best places you can stay at. Far from the city, relaxed atmosphere and beautiful surroundings. Delicious dinner and breakfast included. Rooms in the farmhouse are spacious and clean. I'll definitely be back!

Most beautiful home. Owners were away, but their son Bruce was friendly and accommodating. The garden is stunning. The homestead is a beautiful stone home dating back to the 1800's, needing a bit of work. But stunning in every way. The Karoo chops were delicious, and the spinach feta philo pastry starter was lovely. The bedding and towels were top... More

Before I had finished driving all the way up to the house, I already felt all the stress of forgetting a cell phone at home (at the start of a week-long trip!) melt away. The gardens are so beautiful and the manor house unlike anything I have ever seen. I hope to be back as soon as possible for longer... More

This our second visit, the last was for one night only and we were sorry that we couldn't stay for a second night. This visit was for two nights. The personal service and friendliness that the owners showed us was incredible. All the meals were of a very high standard and beautifully served. The accommodation is old fashioned but everything... This is a spectacular property, with gardens that take you to England in Africa. The accommodation is charming and old World. If you are looking for a place to rest and relax look no further.
