Very nice hotel run by the family. Rooms are very comfortable. Breakfast is good and everyone can find something tasty. Restaurant serves typical german food from south Bavaria. You can rest here after heavy and difficult day.

We were a group of British students and teachers staying here for a week at Gasthof Fenzl. The hotel is charming and comfortable and we had a fantastic welcome from Ronnie Fenzl. The food was great and nothing was too much trouble. The staff at breakfast were always willing to provide extras if requested like freshly cooked scrambled eggs etc. Steinberg has a beautiful lake less than a kilometre from the hotel with wakeboarding and sailing on it. There are a few picturesque cafes by the lake also. I can say that all our party loved the hotel and would like to return. Thank-you so much, Ronnie and also your parents.

Room Tip: Ask for one of the larger rooms. They are all nice, but the one I had was perfect!

Stayed with customers on a factory inspection, what an excellent hotel. The rooms were spacious, even the singles, and very comfortable. Reasonable wi-fi available free. Dinner was outstanding, the steak portions were massive and it was great sitting on the terrace. Nice local beer. Good selection at breakfast

We visited the hotel for only one night, but the impression was good. The building is surprisingly large, but still there is the feeling of a smaller hotel present (in the good way). We arrived in the middle of afternoon, and needed to phone the owner for check-in, but this 5-minute waiting is ok. The rooms are clean and also otherwise in good condition. The bed was of the right level of hardness for my taste, but the pillows are far too soft and un-formly. The room was relatively quiet, only in the morning there was some amount of noise from the corridor. The breakfast was quite ok, nothing too fancy, but still enough both from quantity and quality. And the staff was very friendly. Then the minuses: the wlan worked rather sporadically, but maybe that depends on the room. (And then something not directly from the hotel: if you need a taxi, they will come from the city near-by and will charge you 10e extra for the arrival, and tell you this only after the ride...)

The hotel got bigger - the new rooms are well furnished and equipped; the breakfast area is also new - cozy and nice. Do not forget to have a lovely dinner with one of the best food in the area. The first choice if I am in the Schwandorf area.
