This has been one of the best resorts I’ve ever been at! Super friendly staff namely Melissa and Juan and owners Oscar and Otto! They made us feel welcome from the beginning and made sure we were comfortable. The tiki bar was amazing and super beautiful! 10/10 would recommend - keep up the good work!
We just left Seagull Cove and wish we could stay for another week! We are two families from North Carolina with children and everyone had a ball. Melissa, Juan, Oscar, Otto and all of the staff is amazing and treated us like royalty. We can’t recommend it enough!
Our second visit! This is one of my few happy places on earth. There is not a single thing I can find wrong here. Melissa & Juan make a sensational hospitality team who cannot do anything wrong. Get the bottom room - most stairs, but an uninterrupted view and closer to the beach & tiki bar. The food is amazing. The rooms are large and perfect. The pool area is magical. The area is stunning. I guess we will just have to come back...AGAIN!!! See you soon.
My husband and I had the great pleasure of staying at the Seagull Cove Resort for 4 nights as part of our first vacation trip to Panama. As soon as we arrived at the hotel, we were warmly welcomed by Juan, who showed us to our"Kingfisher" bungalow. We loved its location, sitting at the top of the hill, conveniently close to the restaurant, and with breathtaking views of the Gulf of Chiriquí. That same afternoon we went on the "Sunset Cruise" we had booked with the hotel in advance. We really enjoyed the cruise, navigating among mangrove and later on heading to more open waters where we could spot dolphins during sunset. This outing was a wonderful start to our stay in Boca Chica. We also participated in the "Two Islands" boat excursion, visiting Isla Bolaños and Isla Gamez. This was a great opportunity to do a bit of island hopping and enjoy the beaches pretty much to ourselves! The restaurant at the hotel offers excellent and delicious food options, and at very reasonable prices. We can't speak high enough of the hotel staff, particularly of Juan and Melissa, who went above and beyond to make their guests feel at home. The few bungalows that comprise this boutique hotel are located at different levels on a hill, all facing the ocean. Their decor is charming and minimalist, with a nice terrace and geeat A/C. Just keep in mind that the rooms don't have a mini fridge, but you can ask for a mini cooler to keep with ice at your room for your convenience. While staying at the hotel you will hear (and sometimes see) the howling monkeys, who live in the trees next ro the hotel. The howling really caught our attention in the early mornings and late afternoons! We also got to see toucans, hummingbirds, and iguanas in the grounds. Guests can walk to the Boca Chica fishing village, a 20 minute walk from the hotel. If you decide to do so, make sure to wear sturdy shoes, as the stretch of road (about 500 meters) from the main road to the hotel is unpaved and in fairly bad shape. The Seagull Cove Resort is the perfect place to enjoy a very relaxed stay with nice amenities, a wonderful location by the Pacific ocean, great food, and top notch service by their professional staff. Thanks so much Juan, Melissa and staff for making our stay so cozy and special! …
There is not much more to add to all the previous outstanding experience reviews here on TripAdvisor. We always consult TA first and I am happy to say that all the earlier reviews were right on the money! My GF and I stayed for 8 wonderful days. We arranged in advance with the Seagull for airport transportation from David airport and the driver was prompt and the vehicle was modern and clean. Our COPA flight arrived early in the AM yet the Seagull was prepared for our early arrival which was appreciated! We liked the fact that we could stay in a casita and we had a wonderful view of the bay. Our bed was comfortable, TV channels were plentiful, AC worked very well. Water pressure was on the money and plenty of HW. Room also comes with ceiling fan and safe. Bathroom was very modern. Suggestion would be to either replace or supplement the deck furniture with cushions as we had difficulty sitting outside for long periods of time. I also should mention no problem at all with the wi-fi signal! The pool is small and unheated but we never had an issue with crowding or finding a seat. The location is awesome as it is located directly below an awesome tree which attracts a ton of nature from howlers, black squirrels and many insects for your entertainment while at the pool. I should add there was plenty of shade. The food was really delicious and priced very reasonable. Our staff was friendly and service was excellent. I especially liked the fruit that was included every morning with our breakfast. I even had my first tree tomato! Grounds allow for plenty of walking and exploring. As others have said you can view howler monkeys and toucans almost every day. We also walked to Boca Chica and to an adjacent resort property exploring. In closing I want to add that it is the hosts of seagull that make you feel special. Both Melissa and Juan were wonderful and the pair made our trip the best! They answered every question and took the time to engage both of us in conversation. One of them was always there to answer any of our questions or concerns. Usually I require a lot of side trips to keep me busy but I have to say this was the most relaxing vacation I ever had, just hanging at the resort and relaxing under the, "Harry Potter" tree by the pool!…
We had dinner here with six people. We did not spend the night here, although on our way from the Tiki Bar, where we had a georgeous Sundowner, to the restaurant, there are very nice bungalows. All beautiful and well kept. We actually ate up and down the menu with appetizer, main course and dessert. The cuisine has a slight Asian touch although the maître told us that Panamanian cuisine and Asian cuisine have a certain similarity because of the similar spices. It is impossible to disagree with that. It tasted fantastic, the service was very good and so was the Chardonnay and rum. All in all, excellent hospitality
What a gem of a property located on a hill over-looking a postcard picture perfect view of the water and islands. A true tropical paradise made even better by its attentive, knowledgeable, friendly staff. Imagine having breakfast on their outdoor patio and seeing toucans just a few feet away, or watching a family of howler monkeys in the trees in the evening. We would come back here in a heartbeat. FYI- the lodge sits on a hill and is about 100 steps down (and 100 steps back up) to the beach, dock, and beach bar. So this would be a challenge for anyone mobility impaired.
From the meet and greet to the departure moment, the Sea Gull cove hospitality was second to none. Melissa, Juan, the kitchen staff were superb. The garden and grounds are immaculate and you will know why after meeting Javier and his staff. Best moments? the restaurant; gourmet in the rain forest? No need to drive. the tiki hut on the water? beers, margies and laughter, elixir for the soul......beautiful bungalows with spit shine finishes and comfort. go.....
My wife and I visited in August 2021 for our 42nd wedding anniversary. We entered into a different world of peace and beauty, perhaps of the many places we have visited around this world, this tops the list. I'm so glad we chose Seagull Cove for many reasons. Melissa and Juan were incredible hosts, always ready to help us and attend to us, they even arranged for the a lab to come to our bungalow for the mandatory covid test for our return to the USA. Exceptionally clean, beautifully decorated and a wonderful restaurant for our dinners or anytime snacks. They also booked a fishing trip where I was picked up at our dock with snacks and drinks for my trip. Believe me, I am planning on returning with family and friends. I almost forgot, Juan makes the most amazing margaritas with limes picked from trees behind the restaurant area. Enjoy!…
A great little gem in Boca Chica. The hotel is really cute. The bungalows aren’t missing any comfort but have a great view and soundtrack to hear wildlife. The restaurant s to die for, such delicious and creative panamanian inspired food. They also have several activities, a tiny little beach when tide is low and a cool bar and floating dock that is surely the life of the party when the health restrictions are lifted. We kayaked, had sunset tour alongside the dolphins and also went on a island tour to see the whales. The staff was wonderful, even though they were only a few. Shout out to Juan and his sister Melissa. Even of you don’t stay here and you should try to eat at their restaurant. The only negative is that they are seated on a cliff with long ladders and that isn’t great for everyone.…
