Visited for our anniversary. What an absolutely relaxing & magical place this is. From the moment we stepped off the boat, we felt like family. It’s wonderful to visit a place where the people aren’t too pretentious in their professionalism. The staff here is warm, down to earth,

We just spent 5 days at this incredible resort, & I cannot say enough good things about our stay there.

The rooms are wonderful, but the bathrooms are off the charts! Located on a huge, outdoor covered back deck, with stylish double sinks, & a lot of space, showers both on the

Group of 5 stayed here for 3 nights in October. Rainy season but only 1 rain soaked day. Small fantastic eco-resort with excellent service, food, and cocktails. I have been to multiple eco-resorts and so far this has been the best in terms of food, but the cocktails by Benny

We’re delighted with your feedback, Andrew, thank you! Our chefs will be over the moon to hear that we’ve topped your list of gourmet eco-resorts! We’re glad that you managed to experience plenty of nature and wildlife at Isla Palenque with very little rain, and are inspired to visit some of our sister Cayuga Collection properties in Costa Rica and Nicaragua – they won’t disappoint, we promise! May we suggest Jicaro Island Lodge in Lake Nicaragua for your next group getaway, or perhaps Senda Monteverde in the Costa Rican cloud forest? If you're after some beach time, Latitude 10 Resort in surf-town Santa Teresa would also be a great option. Hope to welcome you back to Isla Palenque in the future too!

Thank you for answering my question about snorkeling from the beach...which I'm taking as a no for the most part :-) Now could you please tell me, when is the dry season? And how much does the snorkeling excursion cost? How long does it last? And does it happen daily?
The dry season starts in December, though we had very little rain when were there in early November. I know it’s dry until maybe March, but you might want to look that up online. If you look st Isla Palenque’s website, they list costs of excursions. As I recall, it was about $150, & I assumed that’s per person. I got the feeling they’re very flexible, & would probably accommodate your wishes, if you really wanted to go out more. They’re good about answering questions if you call them. If the water would have been clear, we would have snorkeled, but it’s not very clear on the Pacific. It’s warm, though, so you can do other things.

Can you tell us if there is good snorkeling from the beach there or if the snorkeling is only good on the excursions? thank you!
Agree with the previous reviewer. Snorkling is best on the excursions. It also depends a bit on the time of the year. During the dry season, the water is more clear.

hi all! i am thinking of booking this hotel for a mini vacation for myself and my mother in dec...does anyone know about prices for alcoholic drinks and if we can bring like chips and snacks? also how far is the boat ride?
Boat ride roughly 20 min. You can bring snacks but it’s not necessary. If you’re hungry they will get a snack together for you but having some in the room for convenience woukd be a personal choice. If I remember correctly, alcoholic beverages are about $8 to $12 for mixed drinks and around $5 for beer.

Hi. My husband and I will be staying at the resort for one week in December. Is the resort the only place to eat on the island and if so - does it make sense to take the meal plan?
Hi! Since the resort is the only facility on the island, you won't be able to eat anywhere else which is way I would definitely recommend the meal plan. But don't worry! It has been almost six months and I cannot forget how delicious the meal tasted! Try the seven-course menu if you like fine dining, it was absolutely exquisite!
