We spent 2 unforgettable days at Maquenque. The setting is very well adapted to the nature. Little lakes, eco gardens, a fascinating forest. Julio and his sister Fatima go out of their way to advise and be helpful. Attentive staff, good food. They have bird feeding during breakfast which attracts all the species close to the deck. We had a...

We just returned from our stay at Maquenque Eco Lodge. We had a tree house which was very nice, and a very unique experience. The tree houses are only about one year old, so in very nice condition. Our house had 57 steps to get up to it. If you are afraid of heights you won't like the stairs up....

As many reviewers have noted it is quite a difficult drive up to Boca Tapada but once you cross the river on the lodge shuttle it is well worth the effort. The property occupies a very large area situated around a series of lagoons off the river and quite simply teeming with wildlife. The birding was fabulous helped by the...

The customer service and the place itself is amazing. Loved the tree-houses. Hoping to return soon, since our travel was too fast for all the things available to do. I recommend the place to anyone (couples or families).

Great stopover destination between Tortugero and Arenal in a unique beautiful setting. Spacious secluded accommodation with view on a lagoon Very helpful and kind staff(in particular Julio) . Breakfast over lagoon Spectacular bird watching during breakfast(not to mention the turtles and crocodiles!) Lots of interesting activities-we recommend in particular the boat trip on San Carlos river to border of Nicaragua...

Sure, nature around Maquenque is great and we liked the idea of the Eco- Lodge. Unfortunately the place did not keep up with our expectations. It is not at all 5 points for us due to the following reasons: 1) the mattress is too soft and of bad quality. The result was pain in hips and back (we are in...

We arrived by night, after one hour on a tough road, but it was worth it ! The location of the lodge is really great (lost in the nature, in the middle of nowhere), each room is a spacious and beautiful bungalow, with a small terrace to enjoy the view on the lake. There are many activities proposed (the nighwalk...

The food delicious, unique service, the staff really kind and always with a smile and very good attitude. We recomend you to go on a 4X4 and enjoy the adventure. We're definily going back soon;)...

Vicky, Fatima and the whole team are just amazing people, who helped us out tremendously. We can only recommend visiting here (but be careful on the unpaved road leading there) and enjoy the incredible hospitality.
