We spent only one night at this hotel, but I can easily imagine us staying for way longer. We got a room on the first floor near one of the entrances because we traveled with our dog and the receptionist thought that it would be convenient for us and other guests. Yes! It's a dog-friendly hotel w/o any breed and weight restrictions; you just need to pay extra $25 per night if your animal isn't ESA or service.
The room was large but cozy, and it was exactly what we need: living area with a small kitchen and bedroom area.
We also liked breakfast. It has some variety comparing with other 3-star hotels, and our dog loves free doggie treats.
Hotel staff was friendly and professional; everyone, probably except ladies who cleaned rooms. I'm not a naughty person and my complaint isn't about dust or spill somewhere.
We got an issue with a toilet bowl. It's clogged, and water flowed over. Maintenance fixed the problem fast, and he said that someone from housekeeping would come soon to sanitize the bathroom. Noone came. We waited for 1 hour...
Maintenance people and a lady on reception apologized for that when we checked out. It's not their fault, but we left this hotel with some unpleasant aftertaste.

This hotel charges only 25k bonvoy pls per night. No res inn on the bonvoy app will allow you to book a 2br suite with points. However, this hotel is good because, front desk girl was very friendly and helpful. She was doing all the check in and laundry. Clearly overworked. Covid grab and go Breakfast was great with good selection of individual wrapped pastries, juices, cereals, milk and yogurt as well as granola bars.
Hidden gem of hotel is it sits right on the centennial trail along the river. You can easily walk the trail or use the trail to the river to fish or watch folks fish.
Bad things about hotel - lots of dog owners not picking up droppings. Also smokers all smoke at one particular corner of the property which leads to bike trail around the building and there is a giant ugly pile of butts.
Room was fine, clean, and we got the extra towels we needed from the sweet girl at the front desk. She wore her mask.
I would stay again.
The photo is the river behind hotel.

Don't let the photos of the obviously outdated furniture deter you away from this place. I had questioned the comfort and the setup before booking, but was actually pleasantly surprised by this place.

Pros: They do allow pets (including cats), I think it's around $25 a night or caps out at $100. Customer service is EXCELLENT. I have loved about 99% of the employees I have encountered. Their breakfast is minimal but they do change their offerings, which is nice and they do have the basics (such as waffles, eggs, cereal, often breakfast sandwiches). Their rooms are actually pretty comfortable. I stayed for over a month and this has actually been one of my favorite spots we have stayed at (out of about 10 local places). Pool and hot tub do have decent hours and is usually pretty empty towards the end of the night. They also typically have complimentary bottles of cold water at the front, which I loved. Oh, and they had great and consistent wifi. They even let us have a late checkout when we requested.

Cons: The rooms clearly do need updated furniture, the couches were torn in some areas and they definitely have an older vibe to the rooms, like something my grandma would live in. Parking here is HORRIBLE if you are a late night person or work late nights or even have to run late night errands. At least a few times a week parking was COMPLETELY booked by 11pm (the front desk employees were great about giving up their spot if needed though). And my only other complaint is one day, I just got back from surgery, was still recovering and on a lot of medication and because of my surgery, I couldnt have material touching my incisions so was topless in bed knocked out when the maintenance guy just walked in on me talking about there was a complaint about the AC not working, so obviously it was another room that gave them the wrong number, but still a rather awkward position so I just bolted my door most days after that (though never had another experience).

We had a booking for another room after this one, and immediately regretted leaving that place. Definitely don't overlook this place. Their customer service alone was worth it.

First trip to Washington State and the staff made a big differences. I mainly delt with Nicholas, Audrey and Jake. I was thinking I was going to dread the 3 week stay, but Nicholas really made the stay feel like I never left Texas. He really goes all out and out of his way when he is working his magic at the mixer they hold Monday thru Wednesday and breakfast Thursday and Friday's . Audrey, Nicholas and the other young lady at the front desk (works mid day like noon or 3 till about midnight) sorry I cant recall here name are the best, very informative helped me get out and do things while I was in Spokane. Any time I needed help or had questions they were ready to help. Overall the whole staff was awesome no complaints breakfast crew the three young lady's were always on top of things. Only thing was bed mattress could of been a little better. Thank you to all the crew. See you all next time!

This was a comfortable stay just outside of Spokane. The location is easy to get to and you are close to shopping, restaurants, and grocery stores. The staff was especially accommodating, even going out of their way to make sure we were taken care of. We needed an early check-in on our arrival, and both Jake and Sarai made sure we were able to do that. We really felt like "guests". Also, Jenny at the front desk was super friendly and was able to quickly help me sort out a technical issue with the TV in our room.

Overall, this was a great stay, and we will definitely be back next time we are in Spokane

Room needed better cleaning as I notified the front desk. But the complimentary breakfast was very welcoming every morning with smiles and friendly conversation from the man who worked in the kitchen and his name was Nicholas. He went over and beyond to connect with each client and make sure to let them know his name if they needed anything to feel free to ask.The front desk was very friendly and offered a receipt for my business records when I checked out.

All staff were exceptional and eager to meet our needs. The front desk clerk in fact went a step beyond his job description to the extent of doing a minor repair made after his work day had ended that allowed us to sleep well through the night. We have frequented this location many times in the past few years when visiting relatives who reside in Spokane Valley. Nearby dining and shopping make this location extremely desirable especially with the fantastic trail along the Spokane River.

We stayed for 2 nights whilst evacuated from our home for a forest fire. If you book a studio king suite beware. Do not accept rooms 210 or 310. The rooms look out at a wall and there are 2 AC units directly below the window. One of the units is so loud, it sounds like a helicopter is directly outside your window, night and day. We asked reception if maintenance could check out the unit. We were told it was a known issue for units 210 and 310, but nothing could be done about it.
The breakfast was good and there is coffee available all day. Parking is free and plenty available.
The room cleanliness was disappointing. The carpet had not been vacuumed before our stay. We found peanuts on the floor. The shampoo bottle in the shower had someone else's hair on it, which was gross.
We booked the room with MBV points redemption and our invoice had 4 different tax charges. Occupancy sales tax, bed tax, convention and tourism tax and room charge tax called STDO T1 which was $39 per night. The tax had not been shown on our booking email and when we asked what it was, we were dismissed with, " it's a standard tax". No further explanation was offered.

Response from Residence Inn FrontDesk, Owner at Residence Inn Spokane East Valley
Responded Aug 28, 2023
Dear Ms. Denise, First and foremost I want to apologize for the unclarifying response regarding your receipt upon checking out. As you mentioned you used points from your Marriott Bonvoy Account for the nights you were here at our property. The front desk agent was correct about those 4 taxes that were applied to each night. The state of Washington requires those taxes be applied to anyone staying at a hotel in the state and those are things we can not remove from a guests stay. With that being said you were not actually charged for anything due to using points for your stay. On the receipt you should see one column of "charges" from each night but in the second column next to that you should see a "credit" back for all of those showing no actual charge. You technically had a "free night" for each time you used points :) As for the noises coming from the HVACS outside of those rooms I can understand how that would make for an unpleasant stay. They are in the process of being replaced because they are in need of it due to wear and tear but I assure you that if you and your family come back to visit us ( under better circumstances) that we will make sure to not place you in either room. Our executive housekeeper is aware of the condition in which you found your room upon checking in. That is not up to our standards and she is taking the proper steps to make sure that a situation like this does not happen again!! I apologize and hope that you will give our property another chance to show you the great guest services we offer. I hope you and your family take care and stay safe. Until next time, Thank you for choosing The Residence Inn :) -Allie A. Front Desk Agent

Stayed here from April 15-19, 2022.
Nice grounds, and being so close to the river walk trail is a bonus.
We didn't have a problem with some outdated furnishings, as this is not a brand new hotel.
The staff was most accommodating and friendly, and we thoroughly enjoyed talking to them when we had a chance.
Special shout out to Sean (front desk at night), Richard (housekeeper), and Crystal (head of housekeeping).

A major plus was long pool hours, and a pool you can actually do laps in.
We were told 24 hours by one person at the front desk, but it says on this site they are from 8:00am to 11:pm.
Regardless, I swam before 7:00 each morning and never had a problem.
The hot tub being closed was a disappointment, but we take full blame for not asking if it was open or not when we booked the room.

Now for that pathetic breakfast which pulls a whole point off the score.
There were bananas, apples, some bottled juices, and really good coffee, but that's where it ends.
The "food" had to be previously frozen pre-packaged items placed in what normally would be egg/bacon/sausage/etc warmers.
At best, it was like eating cardboard. When I asked the morning clerk, the answer was that all the Marriott hotels were going to this type of breakfast.
Yech, and no thanks.
Fortunately, since all the rooms have kitchens we made our own breakfast after that first morning.

The worst Marriott we have stayed in. We prefer the Marriott chain because we can depend on the quality of the room and the service. However, this hotel didn't meet those standards. First of all, the room wasn't ready and they were going to text me when it became available. Nobody did so I went into the lobby to find out that the 2 employees that helped me were gone. Another girl checked me in and gave me the keys, only to find out it wasn't ready. An employee was shampooing the carpet. She then sent us to another room and said she made a mistake. The room was very dated and had too much, very old furniture. All in all, it was a very disappointing stay and someone from the head office should look into this place. It just doesn't uphold the standards of the Marriott chain.
