I paid $50/night. Credit cards accepted. Room was not huge but didn't feel cramped. Bathroom was a bit cramped. Good shower pressure, but the hot water took a long time coming and was scalding. A/C. Excellent WiFi. Minifridge with complimentary water. Excellent staff, especially Andy at reception. Rooftop restaurant serving breakfast and dinner. Food is good but pricy. Nice terrace with city view. The bar on the first floor closed down, so no noise issue there. You will hear outside noise from the hallway... Location not great, but close to lavanderia and taxi stand--call Joselito at 809-442-6765 for an excellent car to La Vega Vieja and Cerro Sagrado...
I've stayed at this htl for the past 14 years and each time the service is worse and worse. We just checked out yesterday morning and I can assure you this will be the last time despite how much I appreciate Anthony for his service but the location is insane, you can't rest peacefully due to the amount of noise. The staff will tell in the morning and chat nonstop without respecting the sleep of their guests. There was a crazy family that arrived at 5am yelling, laughing and screaming and nobody could stop this. Matter as well sleep in the car. The rooms are too sunny, plus the noise, this location is just great if you are drunk and dont wake up easily. Never again!
Don’t go! Disco music all night till 2am. You can’t sleep. No elevator. Rooms are super small. A/C hits you in face. Restaurant had 2 customers for breakfast and no napkin, no water no service. Real bad experience.
I understand this hotel is about the best you can do for the area...but make sure you have your booking receipt. We spent an hour waiting and arguing with the front desk to get the room we reserved. We booked a Senior Suite (one of the only options with a king sized bed) and the front desk just kept telling us it was a booking for a Junior Suite. After arguing and showing them my receipt which clearly said Senior Suite they took us to a small room with a queen sized bed. I stood my ground and called hotels.com (which is where the reservation was made). Once I did that the front desk relented and called his manager. It took about another 45 minutes before they finally took us to the Senior Suite saying that the mix up was due to a recent price change (which was baloney because I rechecked prices the day before I arrived). The room was nice, but not anything I would consider a suite. A very comfortable king sized bed was squeezed in a room with a loveseat, oversized bathtub (could fit more than 4 people), and a small table. Other issue we ran into at the hotel was the restaurant being closed one day. We show up for breakfast and are told it is the chef's day off. Then a place the recommend as an alternative does not even serve breakfast. Also there is quite a bit of street noise and nose from a club (my understanding is that it was the hotel's club, but I never went to or saw a club). Also car service they recommended completely ripped us off. We set up a ride to Santa Domingo...and after taking our money the driver piled his entire family in the car with us (wife and two children) for the hour and a half ride. The daughter threw up twice, and we could not run the air conditioning because it bothered the daughter who was throwing up. Not only was it worse than the bus he did not even deliver us to our hotel as agreed upon. This place takes total advantage of you...so make sure you know what you are getting into!…
Small hotel. Small rooms and small bed. It was very clean. Beautiful decor in the hotel, especially in the resturant up stairs. Ac and hot water :) It was loud in our room given it was on the street side. And loud late and early. The restaurant staff was amazing and cooked up tasty breakfast and dinner. Decent prices. The small bed and loudness of the hotel were the real downfalls for me. They had free water, use of microwave, good cable and a coffee machine. Parking was also free.
