We stayed as family and received first class treatment during our 3 nights stay. everyone was super friendly and attentive. The facilities were spotless clean and food simply superb. We especially enjoyed tranquility, hike, kayak and snorkle around the island. A big thank you to Rini, Oktavia, Atik, Patris, Filipus, Heimi, Made, Mikael and Miranda Hebert. Keep it up!
My wife and I stayed at The Seraya last year for a full week and couldn't have had a better time. We participated in almost every activity they offer, so I'll try to mention them all! Without a doubt though, this was the best time we've ever had at a single hotel and I sincerely hope we get to return someday! As soon as we landed in Labuan Bajo, the owner was very helpful in setting up a drive to town, pointing out a small market to grab some quick snacks, and then getting us on a speedboat to the island. After about 45-60 minutes in the water, we arrived at the gorgeous dock and private Seraya beach (look at those photos!). We spent hours lounging on that dock in the nets, enjoying the breeze, reading books. If it got too warm, we would jump straight off the end of the pier and start snorkeling. I've been to dozens of beach destinations around the world, and the snorkeling here was the best and most accessible I've ever seen. While I've been SCUBA certified for ten years, my wife paid to get her Open Water training with The Seraya Divers. The team was fantastic and she loved the sites. We even did a Manta Ray drift dive, but unfortunately didn't see any that day. We also did two of the Day Trips on their private boat. We went to Padar for a truly amazing hike, Komodo to see the dragons, Pink Beach, and a snorkeling trip with Manta Rays, where we swam with at least 10 of them! Right from the beach, you can take a kayak out to a smaller island (maybe 20-30 min. away) if you'd like a true private beach of your own (other than some native chickens!). The island directly Northeast also hosts some baby Black Tip Reef Sharks that you can snorkel with with you stay motionless and don't scare them. However, the current can be quite intense at certain points, so the kayak trip over there can be a bit daunting at times. If you'd like to see the baby sharks (do do do do do doooo) without exerting as much effort, you can see them everyday right from the main lobby/restaurant in the mangroves! Our room itself was amazing and spacious with nice wood finishes, with AC when we needed it. We purchased the cheaper "hill" option, but you'll still never be more than 60 seconds from the beach. However, the whole island isn't going to work well for anyone with mobility issues as there are stone and dirt walkways/hills. Tips: -There's no WIFI, so bring a book or get out and enjoy the scenery. -Snorkel everyday! There's clownfish, eels, sharks and so much to see. But don't try walking out, because there are urchins and shallow sharp areas. Jump in from the end of the dock. -Save money on the hill rooms, use it to take a day trip to Padar for the view of a lifetime, to see the dragons, and to Manta Point. If you need to cut something for time, skip Pink Beach. -Enjoy having the "family style" dinner every few evenings! It gave us a chance to meet everyone. -Bring a few snacks from the mainland. The restaurant will serve some lunch appetizers if you order them, but sometimes you'll just want a bag of chips at the beach or after dinner.…
Five of us stayed in 3 hillside bungalows for a week over Christmas. Beautiful spacious air conditioned bungalows with outdoor bathrooms. Comfortable beds. Everything felt very clean. Clean beach (very little garbage noticed to other beaches in S.E.Asia) and nice pool. Very kind staff all around, from housekeeping up to management, accommodating all our needs. Great level of interaction with guests. I've stayed at several resorts in Indonesia and Seraya's value for what you get is good. Great diving, free diving, and snorkeling both off the jetty at the home reef and various other spots in the park. Those in our group that dove had only good things to say about the dive staff. No real negatives to report. Shame Will was not very good at the game of Catan, hopefully he'll improve ;)…
We were a couple with 4 children and spend 5 nights in this beautiful paradise ! The Seraya eco lodge is in a small island, with just 2 resorts and 1 fisher village and nature, nature, nature! We spend Christmas there and the owner and all the staff gave us the feeling, being like in a big family. In Christmas eve we jumped over to a tiny island toasting with each other. If you are looking for a place with all amenities but in incomparable surroundings in entire nature, The Seraya Eco lodge is the right place! We’ll come back for sure!
I recently stayed at the Seraya for 3 nights and I will definitely be returning. Reaching the island of Seraya kecil was hassle free and the staff were extremely welcoming and lovely. The resort is the perfect mix of luxe and rustic, and the swimming, snorkeling and lounging spots around the island are magical. The delicious communal buffet style dinners add to the laid back, family vibe and my bungalow was the perfect place to end the days. I can't wait to go back. Thanks so much
