Gran Melia Palacio De Isora earns high marks for its spotless environment and friendly service, with many guests lauding the attentive staff and pristine conditions. The hotel's location is celebrated for its coastal proximity and tranquil town setting, contributing to a vibrant atmosphere that's often punctuated with live entertainment. However, some visitors feel that the hotel's value is diminished by unforeseen costs and subpar all-inclusive options. While the amenities are extensive, noise can be a concern, and the rooms receive mixed reviews regarding their condition and soundproofing.

Hotel's Favorite
What an outstanding hotel. On arrival we couldn't believe how grand and beautiful the hotel is, immaculately clean and had a real feel of luxury to it everywhere you went. We went for 9 nights as a family of 4 with a 5 year old and a nearly-2 year old, all inclusive, over the May half term. We are not the kind of people that go back to the same place twice but we are already looking up prices for this hotel next year. We have done a few 4/5 star all inclusive holidays in the Canary Islands and Europe before but this one outshone them all. Room We paid to upgrade to a Master Suite so there was a separate sleeping area for the kids at night - our room was number 3143 and from what i could gather it was the best room in the hotel location wise! The room itself was immaculate and large with a beautiful huge bathroom, his and hers sinks and walk in showers and a huge jacuzzi style bath. The bed was enormous! The air con worked brilliantly in both parts of the room and the black out curtains were a godsend. It was so handy to have a kitchen and dining area with a microwave etc even though we were all inclusive. Modern and stylish furnishing. Location wise this room was on floor 3, same as reception and round the corner from the kids Pirate Pool, and just one floor up from floor 2 where the family pool, plaza and buffet restaurant were. We were so close to everything but far enough that the we couldn't hear the noise of the evening entertainment at all of an evening - just perfect. Pools The kids pool (the "Pirate pool") was fantastic for younger families. Great fun for the kids and with the pool being the same shallow level all the way around it felt very safe. A lovely warm temperature too. The family pool was fantastic. A little chilly at times but a great set up and plenty of sun loungers. The infinity pool is just stunning to look at and swim in (although it is salt water and rather chilly). The little areas mid-pool with raised parts for seating etc were a lovely touch. We didn't try the adult only pool so can't comment. Towel stands were manned constantly with fresh towels always readily available and the sun beds were very comfortable, most with umbrellas that were essential to keep in the shade (the constant breeze means you never get hot and easily don't realise how strong the sun is). Food/Restaurants I was blown away by the quality of the food in this hotel. The buffet (Pangea) had the best quality and selection i've ever seen at an all inclusive for breakfast and dinner, something for everyone and hardly ever any waiting or hustle and bustle to get to anything. The ice cream and sweet station was an absolute winner with the kids. The staff were always so polite and friendly and accommodating, doing their best to seat you where you preferred. The terrace out the back of Pangea is just beautiful to sit and eat - would definitely recommend. Some mornings we were serenaded by a violinist or saxophonist at breakfast which was a wonderful surprise. A slight lack of lunch choices, but the 3 a la carte restaurants that are available are lovely. Again we couldn't believe the quality of the restaurants and the food - it's not often you get such good a la carte options on an all inclusive. The Italian (L'Olio) was delicious and a firm favourite. Such a beautiful setting with the glass walls just at the end of the plaza with views of the ocean, and their Focaccia was to die for. Oasis was lovely (HUGE portions) but often a lot of flies around which was a bit annoying. The main lunch restaurant Agave was in a gorgeous setting right next to the infinity pool and the service was great, just a slightly more limited and niche menu. Apparently there were snacks available morning and afternoon but we never needed to try these as we were always so full from the meals. We visited the Ice Cream hut by the infinity pool next to the Oasis restaurant regularly - the servers there were fantastic and the ice creams delicious with a huge range of flavours. Whilst lunches and dinners only included wine/beer/cava and soft drinks, the wine was very nice and there was plenty of access to so many branded drinks and cocktails the rest of the day. The strawberry daiquiri and aperol spritz were a delight! Entertainment The kids programme was a little confusing, with kids club locations/availability/timings changing from day to day so you had to be on top of the itinerary. The mini club (for over 4/5 year olds) generally was great, fantastic staff and a great setting where they do structured activities/themes each day. It ran 10-1 most days and some afternoons 3-5:30, and some afternoons/evenings they would have other optional activities which looked good fun, but we just weren't quite organised to book as timings were quite rigid. The water carpet they bring out to the family pool was fabulous. There were a few kids surprises along the way - at certain times we felt like we were in Disney World! Eating breakfast on superhero day and in walks the Hulk and Iron Man - amazing. Then eating lunch one day and giant dinosaurs walked past us with the Jurassic Park theme tune playing as there was a dinosaur encounter activity going on near the plaza, the kids absolutely loved it and the random pop ups gave a magical touch. There wasn't a set mini disco each day which was a little disappointing, but there was usually something going on for the kids at varying times between 6-8:30, including bouncy castles some nights. The childrens disney show was fantastic - great quality of entertainers, they clearly pay for good quality entertainers. The same can be said for the evening entertainment - very high quality and great fun, and the kids loved it too running around the plaza and watching the different dancers and acts that appeared on the various stages around the plaza. The creche was available for children under 4. In all honesty the creche room didn't appear to have very much in it in terms of toys/entertainment and it was VERY expensive, at 30Euros for 1.5hrs or 50Euros for 3 hrs. We used it once and it was lovely having some child free time, but my youngest daughter wasn't keen on going back in again so we didn't use it again. It's a good service to have available though and the staff were great. Location There isn't much around the hotel to be honest, but the main part of Tenerife where Siam Mall is is just a 20-25minute cab ride away (about 35 euros) so was nice for a change of scenery. If you're looking for a relaxing family stay then this is perfect! Criticisms My main criticisms would be the lack of bars/drinks service throughout the day. If you were round the pirate pool, the nearest bar was by the family pool and you had to go back in the hotel, down the stairs or lift, then out over to the other side of the family pool, then carrying drinks back to the kids pool from there wasn't the easiest. There are buttons around the pool to press for bar service but they rarely turned up at the kids pool, sometimes waiting 30-60 mins before anyone came. Better access to drinks from the kids pool is definitely an improvement that can be made. My only other criticism would be lack of lunch options. The setup with the various restaurants on all inclusive is a little confusing and a lot to get your head around in terms of what was open when and which ones you had to book. The app didn't work at all for us so we just asked reception or the restaurants about bookings (which were always no problem). At lunch, it's unusual to have no buffet option at an all inclusive so if you hadn't booked the mediterannean (Oasis) or Italian (L'Olio) restaurants, you were limited to the small mexican style menu in Agave which grew a bit tiresome by the end. There were often long queues for this restaurant at lunch time and it seemed to take quite a while to get people seated. To be fair, however, on those occasions we just went to Oasis or L'Olio and asked if they could fit us in without a booking, which they always did. Overall, once you've settled in and got to grips with the whereabouts of everything, what floor each pool/restaurant is on and what lifts to use, and the timetables and booking systems for restaurants and kids stuff, its a fabulous hotel and I couldn't recommend it highly enough. The pictures don't even do it justice how beautiful the setting is. Thank you for a wonderful and memorable holiday Gran Melia - we will see you again soon!

We managed to book a room for my wife’s disability to find it dangerous to use. How ever we used the shower it created pools of water on glazed tiled floor which was then like walking on ice - even I as fully able found it impossible to walk safely on let all own my wife - I had to mop floor after every shower using all towels and even then for my wife to get out of the shower was very worrying. I raised with hotel who told me they replaced seal on bottom of shower door but it still allowed a lot of water out onto very slippery ceramic tiles floor. After my second request they provided a shower stool but that did not alleviate as floor still wet and slipper after getting off stool! Told TUI repel on site no change. This rates as a 5 star hotel but it’s not a safe environment for any disability or fit person in bathroom. TUI ineffective and lost my wife’s suitcase on return to Bournmouth Airport - one of smallest in country and least busy I should think. Avoid.

Stunning grounds with enormous pool, loads of trees, flowering plants, cacti and a lake with fish that made it feel like a more than just a hotel. The architecture is just about 'real' enough. Our room was very good; large enough and had a garden with Bali bed which was an unexpected pleasure. The buffet at Pangea was decent quality and plenty of choice. Breakfast was our favourite, especially sitting outside in the morning sun. Evening restaurants were very good but a bit unadventurous. Limited choice overall for vegetarians (except breakfast.) The staff were lovely and helpful. Although we did notice that some would place their hand over their heart when greeting us which felt a bit over the top! Luckily they had a sense of humour about it - when we told one staff member that it was like being in a cult he replied 'yes, and of course we sacrifice 1 guest each night at 7pm!' The flamenco performance was fantastic and the circus pretty good, otherwise the entertainment was standard hotel quality and couldn't be escaped without leaving the main plaza area. Overall, we had a relaxing break in a stunning hotel which we would highly recommend to others.

Dear Guest, Greetings from Palacio de Isora, a Gran Meliá Hotel! We always welcome feedback from our guests and appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts. It is delightful to hear that our stunning grounds, with their verdant flora and serene lake, provided a backdrop that exceeded just a hotel stay, reflecting our dedication to a life well-lived amid architecturally exquisite and culturally significant surroundings. Your enjoyment of the spacious room and the unexpected pleasure of the garden with a Bali bed is a testament to the simple pleasures and understated elegance we strive to offer. We are also pleased that you savored the quality and variety at our Pangea buffet, and that our breakfast in the morning sun started your day on a bright note. We appreciate your feedback regarding the evening dining options and take note of the need for a more adventurous vegetarian selection. Although our intention is to infuse every interaction with signature warmth and style, we understand that expressions of hospitality can sometimes be perceived as too grand; we hope it was received as part of our Spanish fervor for making guests feel at home. We regret that not all aspects of our entertainment aligned with your preferences and are continually seeking ways to enhance our evening offerings to delight our esteemed guests. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back to our hotel in the future. Kind regards, María Fdez. de Valderrama Voice of Customer Coordinator

Good Bits The hotel itself is really nice! Nice building, clean and quiet. Pool areas nice and clean, sunbeds are a bit passed their best Friendly staff, couldn’t do enough to help Drinks were plentiful. Bad Bits Felt like everything was a sales pitch. We were asked 3/4 times to sit down to have a chat with a Circle Member, which basically tries to sell you an overpriced membership. We were Red Level Family members, who paid nearly €9,000 for the week, however was asked to move from a nice sunbed unless if paid €250 The food was mediocre at best. The live cooking was good, everything else was stale or cold. Choices were roughly the same every night. Breakfast was the same. We were in Red Level, but the options weren’t that good. The dining areas were packed all the time, you had to wait a good 10 minutes some evenings for live cooking. The onsite Italian Restaurant was woeful! I think Prezzo is a 100 times better. My ocean view room was blocked by a massive palm tress Overall Do NOT pay for Red Level, it’s not worth it and essentially I paid €3,500 for a sunbed area (right next to the normal beds), a nicer seat a breakfast and onsite parking Food was poor for a 5 star Rooms were a little dated This is a hotel I probably won’t return to in a hurry!!

We have stayed at this magnificent hotel several times and decided to celebrate several milestones with our family aged from One year to eighty, there were 10 of us. I emailed Marta BG in guest services with some quite complicated arrangements and she and all the team made it a holiday to remember. We were made to feel like honoured guests and we will remember this trip for the rest of our lives. From the moment we arrived,we relaxed, Antionio and the gang took our luggage and made sure everything was ready for us. We arrived early and our rooms weren’t ready but we immediately went to the Oasis and had a beautiful lunch overlooking the pool We had Cava and patisserie waiting for us when we went to our room and the view was beautiful. There are so many great activities organised by the hotel most of which are free of charge. Marcello gave us a glass jewellery masterclass and five of us took part and have a necklace to treasure. His enthusiasm is infectious and I would highly recommend this activity. Again the water colour painting was also enjoyable and well run. Several of the group did the Latin dance classes and we all admired the yoga classes on the ocean terrace. Will definitely do that next time. The nighttime entertainment is of a high quality and we particularly enjoyed the Flamenco night and the rock music on Saturday. The music on the ocean terrace at 18-00 is delightful and especially if you have a front sea view room you can watch and listen from your balcony The food in the Pangea is of a consistently high standard and the specialty restaurants are also excellent. The app is not really suitable for large party bookings but everyone at reception will do everything they can to help. This hotel is exceptional- it’s nice when places get things right but everyone went way above and beyond to make this trip perfect. We cannot wait to return and our family said the same.If I could give 10 stars I would ! Gran Melia Palacio de Isora you are such a special team and we can’t thank you enough.

This hotel was beautiful but I felt the rooms needed updating especially for a 5 star hotel. The pool area beds also did not have cushions which is standard now in any good 4 or 5 star hotels. There was a charge of 150 euro a day for the cabana beds and I never saw anyone on these beds during our stay. We booked bed and breakfast and you had to queue in the morning for a table. The food was good and plenty of choice. There seemed to be a general shortage of staff around. The beach area was open to everyone and there was a charge for the beds for hotel guests. The hotel was in a town that did not have many restaurants for tourists so not alot of choice. There was only 1 amazing restaurant called B on the rocks about a 15 minute walk from the hotel.

Second time at this hotel - our first visit in 2009 when the hotel had just opened. This time we went back with two kids, apprehensive about how it might work out. It was really good. The hotel had much more families than I recall and there’s always enough space everywhere. I did feel that some of the facilities including the room and pool areas felt a little tired and could do with investment 15 years since our first visit. Wear and tear was obvious to us. The staff here are hard working and delightful - they should get a medal for the hours and effort they put in every day. The buffet restaurant Pangea wasn’t as good as I remember and was busy and could get stressful but Oasis and Olio were excellent. They’ve improved the entertainment and are using the ocean terrace as the sun comes down which is nice. 9.30pm for main entertainment is too late for kids tho which was a shame. The drinks are expensive- £15 for three orange juices made me laugh…. Classes and activities are extremely well run and I enjoyed the fitness sessions. We would come back because it worked with kids. One word of warning - don’t bother with a pram or buggy - the hotel isn’t cut out for these. Hope to be back again next year. We costed up the room booking directly with the hotel and they wanted €7000 for the room and half board for the week!!! Madness. Jet2/Tui will sell you that along with flights and transfers for circa £2750.
