I stayed at The Garden Room while attending a 4 day course in Horley, to avoid rush hour stress on the M25 and M23. It was perfect. A quiet rural drive to and fro, no noisy holiday makers leaving for the airport in the night, no uncomfortable evening meals on my own in a pub thanks to the microwave and... More

This was our third visit to the Garden Room, and hopefully it won't be the last. When we arrived, it was like coming home - a warm welcome, comfy cottage, and the most hospitable of hosts. Brian and Marilyn go out of their way to ensure their guests are looked after - we felt spoiled. As all the previous reviews... More

Brian and Marilyn have a lovely separate cottage that was the perfect choice for us while visiting friends in the area. This is the place to stay if you're looking for a quiet spot with kind hosts and a wide selection of tasty breakfast items. We hope to stay with them again!

Lovely to be back again int the Garden Room - the best and most original b and b I know. Brian and Marilyn as welcoming as ever and spare nothing to make my stay as memorable as it always is. Don't miss a chance to stay here in the Surrey Hills. Jean Fish Winchcombe

We booked The Garden Room as we needed a night's accommodation at the end of our first day's walk on the North Downs Way. Peaslake is around 3-4 miles from the path but Marilyn and Brian picked us up from Gomshall (where we'd stopped for a pint and some food) and dropped us back in Shere the next morning so... More

Fantastic place to stay and equally brilliant hosts...nothing is too much trouble and to be honest you will struggle to beat it in the area. Extremely comfortable bedroom, sitting room area, shower room, fridge, microwave..I could go on!! Very cycle friendly and the area is a cyclists magnet!

We received a very warm welcome from Brian on arrival and were given a comprehensive introduction to the lovely annex. It is a separate building, next to the main house and all details have clearly been very carefully thought through from the tea and (proper) coffee making facilities to the cake and fresh bread laid out. We were going to... More

In trip advisor, this place is mentioned as a B&B in Guildford. It is quite far (20 min by car) from it. But if you are roaming Surrey, this is a great place to stop. The GPS may take you through very narrow roads in a tunnel made of tree branches, but it is fun. You expect to cross the... More

Thanks so much for your kind comments. The little lanes are often something of a surprise to visitors and I love your comment about meeting a Hobbit. They are very ancient routes called 'hollow-ways' for obvious reasons. Some have always been foot tracks and have just been worn into the hollow shape by the passage of time, weather and thousands...
