We stayed at Laurel house for a one night stop over from our holiday in North Yorkshire. On arrival we were greeted by Jeff and Alex and after a short rest, treated to homemade scones and jam.We chose the Willow room for no particular reason, all the rooms in Laurel House have king size beds,I believe one of the rooms has... We had a fabulous overnight stay, we just wish it could have been for longer. Alex and Jeff are great hosts and their ambassadogs Holly and Bramble made us feel very welcome, just the ticket for two pet starved travellers. There's nothing we'd change about this quiet and peaceful place.

Friendly welcome with tea and hot scones and a large glass of wine before heading out for dinner. Our room was immaculate with top of the range toiletries ( and NOT in tiny little bottles ) and comfortable king sized beds with white cotton bedding. We thouroughly enjoyed our short stay and will definitely be back for a longer one.... More

It was a lovely little find in a the small village of Culgaith. Alex and Jeff were amazing and took such good care of us as well as providing us with activities to fill up our weekend. We will definitely be returning to this place!

Jeff and Alex have a lovely home and are fantastic hosts. Whether the welcome tea and scones or the complimentary Prosecco to ensure that my husband's birthday eve was extra special, our hosts made sure that our stay was comfortable with their warmth and generosity. Their breakfast is an extensive and delicious spread served in true British style. They are... More

Laurel House is an excellent B&B in a lovely village location. The house and gardens are kept immaculately and the bedroom is comfortable and roomy. It is the 'little extras' which make all the difference: fresh milk; homemade preserves; tea & home-made scones. The breakfasts are made with local high quality produce and are wonderful. Nothing is too much trouble... More

Fantastic place in a great location. Stayed here during my C2C cycle ride. B&B is approx 4 miles ( flattish) from the route at Langwathby. Jeff and Alex were super hosts and made us very welcome. They booked us a table at the local pub for dinner and their breakfast latter was an excellent start to the day. Scones, beer... More

We returned to Laurel House to spend time in Cumbria. The breakfast is superb, the accommodation well thought out, clean & so very comfortable. Alex & Jeff do everything to make your visit a success. The views from the village are lovely and it is possible to explore the Pennines and Lakes.
