Good services , clean place, close to the beach , good access to the rooms, rear parking need little more work , to much dust , little more different licor more choices of beer , not only gallo ,maybe busy season have more people for massage, I couldn’t get my massage because only 1 person working and was very busy .
My experience has been super chill. Rooms are clean and comfortable and thefacilies are very well maintained. The pool is warm, clean, and not super busy. They have a nice swim up bar. The beach is as all the beaches are here in Monterrico long stretches of black sands with strong waves. Water is warm, and the breeze is comfortable. This is a great time of year to visit, I think. We especially enjoyed touring around the beaches on ATV'S by a beautiful sunset. So far, service has been friendly and helpful.
Location: The hotel is located directly on the beach and easy to find along the main road to Monterrico. Atmosphere: Super chill and fairly quiet, a great spot for couples, or families. There were quite a few kids in both pools, but they weren't overrun with kids by any means. The in pool bar was on the smaller side, so it didn't seem to get too overrun by people looking to party. It did however keep me in the pool longer than I otherwise would have been. Rooms: The room we had was comfortable with all the amenities you would expect and included an en-suite bathroom with a large shower, air conditioning, and a newer flat screen TV. Food & Drink: The drinks are a little pricier than you would get in other hotels in the area, but were pretty good all things considered. The food on the other hand was pricier than you would expect for the quality. It wasn't necessarily bad food, but it was priced as if it would be a much higher quality than it was. Amenities: The pools were nice and refreshing and well maintained. The poolside bar was a nice spot to hang out, but is a little small which kept the crowds down. The bathrooms poolside were nice and clean, and the grounds were very well kept. They even keep a live crocodile on site which is a really cool touch. …
We booked a black sand beach getaway through our cruise line. We arrived at this resort & were greeted with ice cold coconuts that were amazing!! The facility is absolutely beautiful!! The staff is over the top friendly & helpful!! We were treated to a lunch that was the BEST meal we had on our entire 14 day cruise!! The chef came out to make sure everything was cooked to our liking. Our day was perfect & so relaxing!! Before leaving we got to release baby turtles that were born that very day. It was a great experience!! If we go back to Guatemala for a vacation this will definitely be on the top of the list for places to stay!!
We have enjoyed this place several times. The pool is great really great for us and the kids; not too crowded and very clean with a swim up bar. The Staff are crazy friendly and helpful The rooms are clean and we found very quiet. The reason for only 4 is there was no hot water in the shower (every time I go) and the restaurant has good food but over priced for the portion size. We really like this place and will return. Probably bring our own food though.
We have enjoyed Cayman Suites for years. Best pool on the Pacific Coast. Our first trip back this year was a bit of a surprise as the hotel is under new management and some things are upgraded like big screen tv's that actually work now in the rooms. But the funky, homestyle ownership touch is gone. That's OK as the staff was still super helpful. Prices are higher now but that happens everywhere. Food was just OK on our first trip this year and then we went back in February and had the best food and drinks ever! So go figure. The parillada plate for dinner was excellent for 2 with a couple of margaritas. Breakfast is always a winner. There is nothing to do at this hotel but hang out at the pool, take early morning walks on the beach, eat, drink and relax!
Only have positive things to say about my 4 night stay! Guillermo, the manager, went out of his way to make our stay as pleasant as possible. I was there with my mother that has some health issues, and he and the rest of the staff did a wonderful job helping us in every way they could. Our room was nice, comfortable beds, good A/C, nice pool and grounds. Will definitely go back!
The rooms are very nice. After problem with our original reservation- we received one kink bed room. No ocean view as promised - but “ok” The pool is very nice. So the beach: it’s clean but without ANY services!! No shade, no chairs, nothing. Not even a life hard!! Internet is bad! Works mainly at the lobby and it’s on and off. No internet at the rooms and very weak if at all near the pool. We lost power every day....incredible. And - no one speak English or try to help. The restaurant is expensive ( very expensive) with less than average quality.
The place is so and so. There was a ton of mosquitoes that sent us to our rooms at 7pm. Anyway there is not much to do around and the hotel only has activities during the day when the locals are welcome to come in for a fee. I found a big roach in our suite which I killed and send down the toilet, thanks God the wife did not see it. The food in the restaurant is not a great event unless you try the caldo de Mariscos which was very good. Breakfast is a downer not really a get piece de résistance. The WiFi worked 1 out the 3 days we stayed thanks God the TV had a lot of channels to see while trying to avoid the Plague outside. The beach had no lifesaver and it is not a beach for kids. Too many waves that dragged me inside.
Hotel location is good, facilities are nice, including a nice pool. Restaurant is not so bad nor expensive. However Breakfast not included in the tariff... makes this hotel not so popular ( for 5-6 dollars you pay for breakfast, and the price you pay for a room .. it is a shame!! Owner misses the point of quality and prestige... for a small extra gain). For booking you need to go to a bank in town and make a deposit in cash and then, they will chase you to confirm the payment. In a time where everybody uses credit cards it is a very silly (and absurd) business model, belonging to the 1900'.
