One of the worst hotels in Pakistan is Hotel One Naran, which is part of the Pearl Continental Chain and managed by Falaknaz Group. I checked in on the 26th of July 2021, when the Covid Sops had to be followed as per the goverment directions, but Hotel One Naran and the Falaknaz Group are doing no work at all to maintain the SOP or even following the SOP themselves. When we made our booking we were informed by the management that we need to have our Covid Vaccination Certificates ready which would be required at the time of check in, but no one even asked once about our Certificates, all employees were roaming in the Hotel with their mask below their noses, and in the dinning area the the waiter without the mask. My father being a doctor asked the server where his mask was, upon which he said he is vaccinated and my father being a doctor told him that he is a doctor and also vaccinated but is still wearing a mask. Never the less, i was greeted in the room with a broken door handle, stained bed sheets and even Pan Spits (Pan ki Peak) on the couch. I called the Manager Mr Zeeshan and showed him everything and he committed to change my room, to a room which was right in front of it (as i wanted to be close to the room my father was staying in) but when i got back i found out that he had transferred me into a room which was right next to the area where all the mattress were kept, resulting in a bad smell in that area also in my room, (which i had to deal with through out the night). After a long journey we ordered some burgers, and the burgers had very little chicken in them, again complained and were informed that if we need more meat we need to order accordingly (obviously would be charged extra) we had ordered the combo (fries and drink) but they were out of fries and charges us for the full meal, again complained so they waved two items from our bill. In the morning we were greeted by two Hotel One Employees screaming at the top of their voices who wanted to cut the wood for their burner. Our room had breakfast included but when we reached the buffet at 9am everything had run out and upon repeated reminders by the kitchen staff they said that they will refill everything which they never did. My aunt had asked for a glass of water and the waiter picked up a used glass from some other table and served her water in that glass. Upon check out i complained to Mr Zeeshan again about the service and thing that had happened through out my stay in Hotel One but he was least bothered and started becoming rude. Upon which i had asked another family who was checking in about Hotel One Service and they should thinking again about checking in, but the guys at the reception started being aggressive and rude and said if you had so many problem i should have check out in the night, upon which i said if they had refunded my money i would have done so gladly. I even asked them their names upon which they said they had forgotten their names. We stayed in local hotels through out our trip and the cleanliness and service was far better then the service of Hotel One Naran. Hotel One Naran - PC Group - Falaknaz Group had proved that they are only concerned with the money and dont care at all about their customers.

My clients checked in yesterday on 22/10/2020, the booking was made for my clients and I was leading their tour. In the morning at 07:10 my client told me that they woke up and had a terrible night. In this harsh weather Hotel one rooms were without any heating facility. Secondly the main issue was with hot water. My client called the front desk three times but they didn't facilitated him. Finally he called me and expressed his regret by staying at Hotel one. Since I was staying in another hotel, I rushed to Hotel one and told the guy at the front desk that please provide them with hot water (Room 103). After Wasting my 20 minutes they provided hot water by 8:20 am today. I am sitting at their lobby and writing this review. I would never recommend this place for tour operators to book, they will simply ruin your group and bring bad face to your company. This was my last visit and booking at Hotel one. Tips: still if anyone is planning to visit make sure that they are providing you with hot water and room heating.

The hotels in Naran are generally average hotels and is not comfortable to stay in these hotels. Hotel one I believe is the only good hotel in Naran. The hotel is clean. The staff is polite and assist when required. The complimentary breakfast is just OK. The restaurant service is good. They serve lunch and dinner. The food served is good but very limited I would rate this as three star hotel .

The once scenic Kaghan Valley has over the years been turned into a circus with Naran at it’s sad centre. Construction is everywhere going on all the time with little respite. That said, going up north in Pakistan a safe and clean place is much required after a long drive. Hotel One is the place to go to, clean rooms, friendly staff, especially the very helpful front desk manager Mr Yasser. I recommend Hotel One in every way, having driven through the bazar stuffed with little hotels, Hotel One probably is the only place to stay.
