There was about 11 of us, we filled the house quite well, but there was space for different activities. But the cherry on top was the AGA. There was raisin buns made and local lamb cooked. The decor was on spot. Felt like a home away from home. It was shortly living in a fairy tale. Enough bathrooms for all of us. Beautiful garden and the view, I'll run out of synonyms. Everything was ready to go for us and went as smooth as slipping into the hottub in the back. My family still talks about the house and the villages around it. We were reluctant to leave.

As a group of friends we wanted to tie in a birthday, Mum-get-away and relaxation. We chose Hilltop house as a holiday rental. It is just lovely, cosy, relaxing, stunning views, hot tub. Truly beautiful. Not even the 4hr drive would put me off going again. I can’t recommend enough.

We hired for Easter and thought it was great. Loads of space and lots of charm. Given that it sleeps 10 easily I think it is good value for money. TV, WIfi, spots and Aga all working fine - though why anybody thinks Agas are good to cook on, beats me. If the grand piano could be tuned and have new hammer pads it would be perfect!

Hired for Christmas week, poorly maintained, expensive but no effort made by owner to reflect the Christmas week price hike. AGA wasn't working properly, 5 out of 10 spotlights in the kitchen were broken (not just the bulbs gone), the wi-fi tv spends most of its time re-buffering and is unwatchable amongst many irritants. The owner's failure to apologise or attempt to remedy anything made an annoying situation much worse. Shame because the feedback for the previous owner suggests she was a wonderful host and made huge effort to be welcoming.

Claire is the best hostess, very friendly & welcoming, down to earth & obviously enjoying what she does. Hilltop House has the most perfect location, so idyllic, great views, fantastic for walks / cycle rides. The room was a double in the house & it felt very cosy & homely. The bed was comfortable, with a generous supply of pillows & covers. The room & bathroom were spotless. Hope you like cats as they come & visit you in your room - which for me was great as I was missing mine. we stayed 2 nights & loved every minute of our time in this superb part of Yorkshire. Go to the Blue Bell Inn in Kettlewell for food, but be hungry! very large portions. Breakfast was good, came with fresh homegrown eggs. Just a couple of minus points - lack of internet signal, annoying especially when you don't know the area & you want to get about & find places & there was a fantastic variety of teas but only one instant coffee choice. A very happy stay & would go back again.…

This is my second stay at Hilltop House B&B and each time it feels special. What I love about Hilltop is the family feel atmosphere, Claire and Nick are very accommodating. You are made to feel welcomed and nothing is too much trouble. Upon arrival you are greeted by Claire and you are provided with a hot beverage and a freshly baked scone. Claire shows you to your room and provides recommendations on where to eat and drink within the local area in addition to asking what you would like for your breakfast and at what time. I recommend the full Yorkshire English breakfast, it's piping hot. Cereal, fruit, croissants and bread are also available in addition to the usual fresh orange and filter coffee. The rooms both in the house and in the "out buildings" are tastefully done. Where you eat your breakfast there are exposed beams and traditional period features with an open fire. When I stayed the open fire was on which provided an additional homely touch. The rooms have comfortable beds, each room has an ensuite and the showers provide instant hot water. Each room has a kettle and with refreshments ready for you to enjoy, furthermore a TV with free view is available should you need to stop looking at the rolling hills and the picturesque settings in which Hilltop is surrounded by. I would recommend anybody to stay at least one night. It's a hidden gem and you wouldn't be disappointed. I'm already thinking about my next stay. …

We were met by Claire with coffee and cake on one of the sunniest days this year. What a wonderful setting and lovely accommodation. Coffee, tea, and chocolate biscuits were in the room. What more could you ask for? We stayed in the cottage which is separated into two rooms, both were good. One double and one with two single beds. As our son was with us we had both rooms. I would highly recommend Hill Top House to anyone visiting the area. If you are looking for good pub food then try the Buck Inn in Buckden, just down the road.

Both my husband and myself were greeted by two cup cakes and a cup of tea on arrival! What a welcome. The room was small but very nicely decorated and have every thing you would want, including chocolate biscuits for your tea or hot chocolate! The shower was hot and powerful, the bed very comfortable indeed! Claire and her husband are very welcoming. We loved the horses, especially Gemma the Shetland! Breakfast is wonderful and fresh. The main room to eat is on one big table for all guests. Would definitely recommend to anyone!

Can not fault anything about our stay, in fact we have been telling all our friends & family about booking to stay here! Such a wonderful place, Claire is fantastic and really caring! Breakfast is amazing! Missing the horses & cats! Kettlewell is only a 45min walk and the pubs there are great! Recommend the Blue Bell for food and also for how friendly the Landlord is! Can't wait to return xx love Leafy & Tariq xx

We were very welcomed by Clair when we arrived and after showing us to our little cottage style accommodation she very kindly made us a tray of coffee and home made cakes even though we had facilities in the room as we had just has a very long journey to get there. The cottage was spotlessly clean, very homely & comfortable. Breakfast the next day was wonderful and I loved the fact all guests sit around a large table together rather than individual ones as we all sat chatting together like old friends. There is so many good things about this B&B that I can't write about them all but if you stay here you won't be disappointed.
