We stayed at the Fox and Hounds weekend 17th February. We had never taken our dog to a B&B and didnt know what to expect. We had a fantastic time. The rooms which was my worry were spotlessly clean well decorated and extremely well equipped with tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits, kettle and teapot. The room also had a...

Only stayed the one night and wished it had been for longer. We ate in the restaurant, and all four of us agreed it was one of the best meals we'd had in a long time. Full marks must also go to the staff....from the guy that checked us in, to the girl serving breakfast, we were all made to...

We stayed for just one night with our dog. The room was totally adequate for our needs and we had a good nights sleep. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Nothing is too much trouble. We had a lovely meal in the evening and breakfast was great. We will definitely return.

Stayed at the Fox and Hounds at the weekend. We had a really enjoyable stay, the room was nice and cosy. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful. We had a lovely two course meal and finished our evening in the bar next to the open fire. The breakfast the following morning was just as good. I had a full...

Stayed at this country inn whilst visiting friends. It's comfortable and cosy if a little tired in parts. Good atmosphere as it's clearly popular with the locals and the staff were friendly. The room was adequate and the bed very comfortable! The food was OK but somebody needs to learn to cook vegetables properly as they were poor - insipid...

We've been visiting here for several years now and up until this visit have always been happy... The Chef has obviously changed and clearly the standards have... The breakfast was abysmal...nothing like it used to be... nasty sausages, fatty bacon, shrivelled mushrooms and scrambled eggs that were almost liquid and served at room temperature like everything else on the plate!...

Management response:

Thank you for your posting. Sorry you didn't enjoy breakfast and it did not meet our usual high standards. You are correct the head chef did not cook it (on holiday), but no reason for unsatisfactory service. The concerns you raised are taken seriously and I can assure you the issues identified have been addressed with the kitchen staff. You...

We visited at lunchtime in August to celebrate my Aunties birthday. The restaurant is in a stunning location in the North Yorkshire Moores. There is ample parking outside. The staff are welcoming and helpful. We had a table in the window which had a stunning view of the hills. Menu has a good choice. We ordered Scampi, gammon and steak...

After staying 2 nights in August and not particularly liking the food, we decided to give it another try as it is set in beautiful surroundings. Room very clean but let down by cheap and hard toilet paper. Breakfast was spoilt with hard, cardboard like cornflakes. Poached egg on toast with beans and mushrooms was very poorly presented, one morning,...

stayed at the fox & hounds and really enjoyed a quiet relaxing 2 days. Great food, reasonably priced decent value B&B. Small room, with great views, everything on hand, however we felt that the hosts could have been a little more attentive to us both on arrival, and throughout our stay.
