It's a gem. Right at the very quiet beach there is this wonderful resort with only a few rooms, all directed to the sea. It's for everyone that likes to take a few days off, surrounded by nature and perfectly nice staff. If you're looking for a Eco resort that gives something back to nature and the people living surrounding...

This was my first venture to El Salvador and I was traveling as a singe woman. I wanted to "get away from it all" but still have basic amenities like air conditioning, a pool, and good food. La Cocotera in Barra de Santiago on the border with Guatemala was all I had hoped for plus much more. The 6 room...

La Cocotera is a small resort with only 6 rooms. Most of the time we didn't see any of the other guests and felt like we had the place to ourselves. The grounds are immaculately groomed and everything was tastefully decorated. The pool area was particularly lovely. They also had common areas with hammocks and internet access. Our room was...

Cool, chilled, relaxed vibe. Palm trees, swept sand, hammocks, white, simple, clean, colour accents.Lovely pool, with pretty 'islands', DVDs, games. Body boarding, surfing, kayaking, swimming, in the Pacific, great waves, unspoilt beach walk. Immaculate. Baby turtles parrots. So much food, generally pretty good although repetitive. Fun boat transfer to your car. Kind and low key staff. That's it.

My wife and I just returned from a one week stay at La Cocotera. We stayed November 8th - 15th. This place was a fantastic getaway from everyday life. The rooms were beautiful and immaculately clean the house keeper did a fabulous job she even inflated my wife's inner tube for her which I thought was very nice. She was...

First off, La Cocotera is a true diamond in the rough, a TRUE hidden gem. We had a driver scheduled to pick us up in the morning from the airport but after a mishap with my wife's passport, we ended up landing at 7:45 PM. Ricardo said it was not a problem and picked us up himself from the airport....

La Cocotera was indeed beautiful and the staff was wonderful, if not a bit shy and sometimes doting. The food by Beatrice was exceptional! Our room was spacious and had a big deck and was directly on the beach. We loved the iguana on the pool island and took advantage of the kayaks to go up the estuary where we...

Staying here was such an incredible experience. We were the only guests and it is definitely off the beaten track, no-one is just going to turn up without having booked first! It is a bit of a trek to get to but completely worth it. There was a gorgeous pool and plenty of loungers and hammocks to take advantage of...

La Cocotera exceeded expectations and provided an exceptional vacation experience. The property is beautiful and its unique location between the Pacific and the estuary allows for convenient access to relaxation as well as all kinds of activities. The resort easily arranged for guided tours and activities such as surfing, trips to town and the volcano climb. Kayaking was fun as...
