This little hotel is excellent on every level. We stayed for almost 3 weeks in what I believe was an entry-level room. It had a huge bed, 2 day beds and an ensuite as well as a fridge and a balcony. There were 2 sets of tables and chairs, one in, one out.
The sheets and towels are changed every day, I was very impressed with the cleaning.
Breakfast is incredible, even though we were staying a long time we were never bored with it. Each day there are different home made goodies to enjoy. You will never be hungry staying here.
The location is on the quiet end of Plaka beach, around 10 minutes walk from the end of the bus route to Chora and a small supermarket. The bus takes 40 minutes to reach Chora and costs 2.80 Euros. There are a lot of restaurants within a short walk; if you don't mind walking further there are dozens to choose from too.
The beach is 2 mins walk from the hotel, you will be able to see the sea from your room. It is a long, sandy, shallow beach very good for swimming and sunbathing. You can choose to wear clothes on the beach or not, no one will care either way.
We would definitely stay here again if we return to Naxos.

Excellent location just a few minutes walk from the beautiful wild Plaka beach but with the possibility of renting umbrellas and sunbeds.
Also close to numerous restaurants and bars.
Our room was always spotless and with daily change of sheets and towels.
The breakfast was excellent as it was based on fresh and typical products, from yoghurt, to different sweets and savory pies every morning, fruit, bread, jam, eggs in all ways, fresh orange juice and more.
However, the real difference is made by Mario who welcomed us with sympathy and kindness, giving us lots of useful advice, helping us with transfers and motorbike rental, always available for our every request in front of an excellent glass of his wine.

A small, family run hotel. This place has all you could want for a relaxing, chilled break away from all the hustle and bustle of life. I could not recommend it highly enough.

I have stayed a few times, so experienced more than one of the suites. They are each perceptibly individually designed and crafted. The beds are comfortable and all facilities you need are here. If you enjoy to relax and listen to the sea at night, make sure you have a room with a balcony, or you can just make the short walk to the beach and enjoy.

The beach is one of the nicest I’ve experienced in Greece, long and sandy with no awkward pebbled or rocks. It is 100m, maybe 3 minutes walk away.

Breakfast is provided by the family. Fresh and delicious with plenty to keep you going all day, or at least until you next crave some Greek cuisine.

To eat, you will be able to find a number of traditional tavernas along the beach, ranging from 5 to 35 minutes walk from the hotel. Marios will provide a comprehensive guide to help you choose.

If you want to stray further, a bus is available nearby to take you to the main town where there are few important, significant sights and places to eat/drink. Or you can plan to hire a car from the port, the airport or delivered to the hotel and explore further out into the island.

My husband and I stayed here for a total of 3 nights as part of a two week holiday traveling around Greece, and I must say, this was a highlight! From the beautifully, and impeccably, hand-crafted suites that are each unique from the others, to the absolutely delicious breakfast we were treated to every morning, it was perfection.

Even as lovely as the accommodations were, the service was even better. The owner, Marios, could not have done more to ensure we had an amazing stay. His personal touch to each detail of the hotel and his welcoming nature made us feel right at home. I absolutely could not write a review without mentioning Cristos, who was an integral part of the team, and our wonderful stay at Island Escape. As an added bonus, Marios' cat, Grinyaris, makes frequent appearances in the outdoor areas and loves scratches behind the ears.

The hotel's location is ideal, less than a leisurely 5 minute stroll to beautiful Plaka beach, where you are treated to some of the most beautifully clear turquoise waters in the world. This beach is also uniquely sandy, unlike some of it's rockier counterparts elsewhere on Naxos.

While there is currently no dining option for dinner at Island Escape, as mentioned before, breakfast is top rate. You are able to choose from several egg dishes, and we were also served "vegetable pie", fresh bread with jams and butter, some sort of sweet, fruit salad, fresh squeezed orange juice, and a coffee drink every morning. Other guests chose yogurt, etc. Again, Marios and team were more than accommodating for a variety of tastes and dietary limitations.
Island Escape also has a beautiful bar area that serves a variety of wines and beer. If you are interested in staying in the immediate area for dinner, you can walk less than 500 m down the road to several restaurant options.

Another exceptionally positive feature of this hotel was the air conditioning. As odd as that may sound, we were in Greece during an unprecedented heat wave, with daily temperatures often hitting at least 40 C, so air conditioning was a must! Several of the other hotels we stayed at while in Greece simply did not cool the room adequately, but the A/C at Island Escape was blessedly powerful!

In terms of COVID considerations, the design of the hotel is such that there are no common spaces indoors. Each room opens to the outside with very minimal "crossover space" with other rooms. The only real common space was the area where we were served breakfast, which also served as the bar area in the evening, but this was open air and allowed for ample social distancing.

I truly cannot say enough good things about our stay here and would whole-heartedly encourage anyone to visit Marios and team at his little piece of paradise!

Naxos Island Escape was the perfect hotel for the four nights we stayed in Naxos. It is near the south end of the Plaka beaches, so it was very quiet and peaceful. The owner, Mario, was the ultimate host. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted with a welcome glass of wine. Mario sat down with us and provided a map and an overview of the island with suggestions for places to visit. Every day we were served breakfast cooked to order and always with accompanying bread, pastries, freshly squeezed orange juice, coffee, and fruit. The gorgeous beaches of the Aegean Sea are just a short walk. Mario opened his quiet patio bar in the afternoon offering various types of wine and drinks for guests who wanted a rest from the sun. Our room was lovely and cleaned daily with fresh towels provided. We also had ample space, unlike some rooms we've experienced in the past. We chose to rent a car to fully experience the island, and we were glad that we did so. Overall, we were very pleased with our decision to stay at Naxos Island Escape and highly recommend it as an excellent choice if you are visiting Naxos.

Our experience at Escape Island was perfect - the hotel is located 100 m from the beach. A pool could have have been a plus but honestly the beach proximity does authorize this. You have a couple of sun beds proposed alongside the 🏝most of the time w restaurants for lunch and the evening.

The owner Marios and his team are working hard to ensure your stay will be perfect. You can ask him where to go or what to visit he is always there.

The proposed breakfast every morning is the sole food and beverage proposal and is amazing in terms of choice. It can be a little bit long in the morning but the reason for this is that all is made “a la minute” eggs fruit etc…

The rooms are not huge in terms of space if you are three - if so take a Suite. For two it is perfect and decorated with a real taste.
The rooms are super clean and the cleaning service really a quality one - bed sheets are changed every day. Wifi works well and important the beds mattress are perfect 👍!

At the end after a couple of days you will be “enveloped” with / by the Mediterranean vibes that this place is creating. You will leave in a peaceful way.

Again, don’t hesitate if you want a place where you will find an owner who loves his guests and its work spreading always an ambiance that will ensure you with no doubts great holidays !

Mario’s merci beaucoup, see you soon. Alexis de Gallos

Small complex constructed on a agriculture site (potato farm) which now has several new tourist accommodation options around it. South end of Plaka beach and set back 120 metres from the beach. The room we stayed in was totally fine with some quirky lighting and design features. The wine bar breakfast area is cool and the breakfast itself freshly made each day was also great. Hospitality provided by Marcus and Marios was welcoming and “no problem” attitude a bonus. Not as busy as north beach. Oh air conditioning was great and much needed. Recommend hire of a car thou to get around.

Thanks Marios for making our stay amazing. Such a fantastic host, always smiling, full of super helpful tips on where to visit on the island, where best to eat, and pointing us in the right direction to make our stay just so memorable. We loved the accommodation, super funky units with subterranean rooms to keep you cool in the heat.

we had such a wonderful time staying here primarily because of the warm hospitality by the owner, Marios. This is more of a Bed and breakfast, family owned and run. the breakfast they serve is freshly made from local ingredients...they make their own marmalade from various fruits, and the dessert is homemade by Marios' mom and wife. Their family has been in naxos for generations...centuries...and he told us the land where the property is built used to be a potato farm. the property is walking distance from the sandy Golden Beach of Plaka, but secluded enough that you can hear the birds sing all day long.

Marios helped us find a car to rent in Naxos and the car was waiting for us at the port..easy peasy. He also showed us different routes to tour everyday from the secluded cove beaches, to the mountain villages. We were there in mid April when the winds and water was still cold. he suggested we go yo a beach protected by coves so we wouldnt feel the wind chill, and this workrd perfectly for our sunbathing. His restaurant recommendations were on point-- we got to try excellent seafood in Chora, and fresh locally sourced meat in the mountain village.

The rooms were cleaned and well maintained. Marios puts his heart and soul into his family business and is always there available to serve and help in anyway he can. We enjoyed all the information he gave us about the island and its history and economy.

if you want a personalized stay, with great Greek hospitality, and to be felt cared for and looked after as a special guest, look no further!

What a gem of a place! Marios has created a very special place here….a labour of love in building the beautiful suites on his grandparents’ potato farm, creating the beautiful furniture, but above all, running the best place I’ve stayed in on the Greek Islands, with the comfiest beds, tastiest homemade breakfasts, best cocktails and wine, and the warmest welcome! This is Greek hospitality at its best, and I will be back! Special mention also to Marc, and Marios’s wife, baby and Mum - they all work so hard to make it a wonderful experience! As Marios says on a daily basis ‘Relax….you’re in Greece…you’re on holidays’!

We actually got off the ferry and there were plenty of taxis waiting so there appeared to be no problem in getting a taxi to the hotel. At the hotel Marios could have easily arranged a rental for us if we wanted one. Suggest you communicate with him and I am sure he will make it easy for you. His cousin is a taxi driver.

Hello, yes, I would recommend doing so (assuming you’re staying for few days at least). The island is fairly big and roads are great. I rented a Jimny from funcarandrides for a decent rate. Good service. Hope this helps Julien

Absolutely contact Marios at the hotel- he will let you know what is available. I know that there are 2 rooms upstairs separated by an outdoor area- that could certainly work. Marios is totally “can do” and so accomodating- he will give you a clear and honest answer about anything. He is a wonderful host who arranged just about anything that we needed- from a rental car to restaurants to the best beaches...
