Moutcha Bay Resort is an absolutely beautiful place. The staff at Moutcha Bay go above and beyond to make sure your stay is top notch. The newly erected ocean front camping yurts take “glamming” to another level. We were lucky enough to stay in the luxury yurts situated right on the water. WOW, waking up to the unobstructed ocean views made my vacation!

My wife and I towed our small teardrop trailer out to Moutcha Bay in July for our first visit to Gold River and this part of our beautiful Island. The drive out from Gold River on the hard pack mainline is not an issue, there are some steep grades and washboard, but just take your time and enjoy the scenery all around you. The campground itself is good, there are definitely some sites better than others, and not alot of privacy, but the sites are level and serviced and the wifi signal was amazing considering where we were, so no complaints there. There are two excellent washroom buildings, with lots of showers and flush toilets, and they are kept stocked and clean by the staff. The Lodge and waterfront are beautiful, we brought our kayak and put in at the boat launch, parking at the lodge can be a challenge, but we found room and had some great paddles around Moutcha and Head Bays. We didnt rate the experience a 5/5 as we did have some issues with noise, music and partying that came from a staff camping area near the upper campground, that went well beyond the well posted quiet time hours in the site, and took away from our experience of this wonderful slice of nature. To the credit of the resort, when I raised the issue after our stay in a review, they did contact me immediately and attempt to follow up to determine the source of the noise and partying, and offered an apology, so I was grateful for that effort at least. Hopefully folks visiting this idyllic combination of mountains and ocean can focus on enjoying the wilderness a bit more and leave the blaring tunes behind in the city. Other than that issue, we were happy with our stay and trusting the team there keep an eye on the campground in the future, we will be back for sure.

This was our second road trip sabbatical to Moutcha Bay from Edmonton, to take part in the kayak fishing derby. We stayed in one of the well appointed lodge suites again for four nights, this time with two double bedrooms. The logistics of the fishing derby were handled extremely professionally as always and much fun and fish was had by all! The food at Moutcha Bay is truly amazing, with specials each day as well as the well tried and tested (by us) main menu - there really is something for everyone! The new camping yurts at the front of the accommodation appeared to be a big hit too! Already booked in again for next year ...

My husband, two service dogs and I visited here back In July for 4 days. We stayed in the camping waterfront yurts. Stunning views, amazing staff, beautiful yurt with more amenities then you think and so many wonderful things to do and see. Hands down the best place for anglers. But, if you are not an angler, theres wildlife too see either by renting a boat or getting a guided tour, caves to explore, suspended bridges to traverse over waterfalls, water in each direction and tons of hiking/ exploring, cragging etc. The staff were extremely helpful. Especially regarding my health and the service dogs and there was NOT one disappointment in speaking with everyone here. Every questioned answered and a joy to be around. Theres a wonderful gift shop, bar/grill and canning done in-house. The accommodations are boundless offering many options such as regular tent or RV camping, cabin/chalets, glamour yurts, waterfront yurts, camping yurt, floating lodge resorts and above the bar & grill hotel stay. The food at the bar & grill was spectacular. Many options for vegetarians and they offered to switch a few things to cater to the diets. Although, if you are staying on floating lodges they do request a 48 hr notice so they can make sure to provide what they can for you! Warning for those that bring pups- bring all weather shoes for them to protect their feet. Severe cuts to pads and muscle may occur from the oysters along the beach and the nearest ER vet is about 3 hrs down the mtn. It would be better to drive down about 10 min down the mtn and let them play in the rivers. 100% will be back.

We stayed in a brand new, beautifully decorated, adorable yurt. It had two extremely comfy twin sized beds along with a couple of chairs, bar sized fridge and a sink with mirror. We were blown away by the beauty outside our yurt, the view from our deck was outstanding. Gorgeous, peaceful, and very close to the restaurant and the clean washroom with showers. The staff were all fantastic and we thoroughly enjoyed our 4 hour guided kayak tour with Sam. Sam was extremely knowledgable about marine life as well as history, and very safety oriented. We had an amazing time exploring the area and enjoyed a lovely picnic lunch on shore. We were originally booked for two nights at Moucha Bay Resort but added a third as we loved the tranquility so much. We also enjoyed our little trip to Tahsis. The marina has a fantastic patio and was the perfect place to relax and enjoy a cold beverage. Speaking of beverages, the resort had a very yummy selection of cocktails. I made my way through the majority of the cocktail list and there wasn't one I didn't like. There were so many wonderful things about the resort and it's location. We will be back to enjoy some more!
