Worth a visit to Thailand just for the hotel!
Family members have been to this hotel over the years and recommended if we ever go to Chiang Mai to stay here. Finally we planned a trip to Thailand and decided we'd go to Chiang Mai just to see what the hype for the hotel was about. We were not disappointed from the moment we stepped out of the cab. Such welcoming staff and beautiful grounds, we havent seen before! The property is massive! We had booked a pool villa room which was close to the lobby (can also call a cart if you're in a rush) and once we entered we cancelled our elephant sanctuary booking haha! We realized we didnt build enough time in our itinerary for this beautiful room and resort. The pool villa room was a highlight of our entire trip!! HUGE private pool and gorgeous large bedroom and bathroom plus nice outdoor shower! It was something from the movies. We enjoyed the spa at the hotel, the washing of the cow and rice patty planting. It was worth it to spend more time on the property. We also did the private dining in the rice hut one evening and were blown away! It was such a magical setting, someone played music all 3 hours and the food was amazing. Worth every penny!! Considering the evironment and that we went in summer there were very little mosquitoes!! They fumigate which must do the trick because we didnt have any issues. Most noteable was the staff who always called us by name, laughing and smiling! We were vegetarian and they always accommodated us by showing us what we can have and making us special meals. We felt like we were leaving our family by the end of the trip.
Dear Pooja2020, Thank you very much for your wonderful review with regard to your recent stay at Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai. I am glad to see that you loved the Pool Villa and enjoyed our offerings including the food, spa, activities and especially the services from our dedicated team. We shall look forward to welcoming you back and please do let us know if we can assist you on planning your return. Best regards, Anthony

    Truly luxurious
We had a much too brief stay at the Four Seasons Chiang Mai. We booked a pool villa which was absolutely lovely. We rarely use in room dining, but our villa was so nice, we did in room dining our first evening - we had ordered ice cream for dessert so the waiter asked what time we would like him to return with dessert when he brought the main course. We loved the dual outdoor shower - so much we never used the indoor shower. We arrived to a hand written note of welcome, a lovely basket of fruit and bottle of wine. The amenities are high end and thoughtful - even a mosquito repellent was included. The resort itself is beautiful and very relaxing but staff are very helpful in suggesting off resort activities as well. We booked the private dinner for two in the rice barn which was exceptional. Service and food in both of the restaurants was also very good. The only thing that would have improved our stay was for it to be longer.
Dear Carol P, Thank you very much for your review with regard to your stay at our Resort. I am glad to see that you loved the Pool Villa and enjoyed our food offerings. Our staff are happy to know that you felt refreshed and had a relaxing time during your stay. We shall look forward to the pleasure of welcoming you back to Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai again soon, hopefully for a longer period! Best regards, AG

    Superb Stay
We arrived at the end of January for a 4 night stay and a first stop in Northern Thailand. The resort is well laid out with a lake and rice paddy fields and plenty of amenities. Our first floor room had a balcony off to one side and sitting there in the late afternoon/early evening looking out over the grounds was just heavenly. There are two restaurants on site, a Thai which also doubles as the breakfast area and a western/European style whish features a fire pit and focuses on roasted meats, fish and vegetables, but with other options too. Both restaurants were excellent and the breakfasts, taken on the open-air terrace were perfect for us, although you can dine inside if you wish. The resort has a family swimming pool and below on a terrace a quiet adult pool. The service by all the hotel staff was faultless throughout our stay, and never intrusive. For only one night we had a family in the room beneath our own and you could hear their movements a bit. We were pleased that we had a first floor pavilion.
Dear Peter B, Thank you very much for your kind comments about the accommodations, facilities and overall experience at our Resort. I am especially pleased to read that the services provided by our team throughout the stay met your expectation. Thank you for visiting our Resort; we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back again in the near future. Best regards, AG

This resort has a very good atmosphere. The room has a view of nature. Wake up early and open the room window to see a beautiful view, making me feel very happy. The service is good. I think during the high season there should be a lot of tourists.

Great property and excellent service. But their prices have skyrocketed and I can now understand why their Sunday Brunch Buffet has come to a close. Even today when we stopped by for a cocktail, paying $14 for a martini, ( $16.50 when you add Vat and Service), is just way over the top. I don't think we will be returning any time soon.

Dear Y9804GFmichaelb, Warm and sunny greetings from beautiful Chiang Mai. We are thrilled to hear you felt the property is great and the service is excellent, however we will always focus on the constructive feedback as well in order to constantly improve. In this case we will certainly go back and do our comparisons within the market for our beverage prices to ensure we are in line. We all know that compared to the past few years nothing is as it was cost wise, however it is important for us to make sure there is value in all we do. The price resistance for a potential rise in Sunday Brunch was evident when we asked 650 members of our Gourmet Club what their idea of a fair price would be. With that feedback, to sustain the brunch was simply not feasible with the quality we offer, I am afraid a brunch under THB 2,000 for a full buffet of prime roasts, Atlantic lobster and fresh oysters could not be reached. That said, we do offer our local community special offers as well as our in-house guests, please do not hesitate to contact us for details. Thank you for your comment. Warm regards, Sean

A little oasis just outside Chiang Mai - beautiful property, great staff, delicious food and very nice bungalows. The staff made this property - they thought of everything to make this trip perfect. We didn’t have a single meal outside of the hotel as everything was so delicious, and if you’re gluten free, the baked goods and alternatives alone make the trip worthwhile. Lots of activities, kid-friendly and/or couples-friendly. Oh, and the bed and pillows are so comfortable.

We left the four seasons Bangkok and wasn’t sure what we would find. We need not worry. Amazing views even more amazing accommodation with a “house lady” taking care of you. Pool area small & not amazing & service a little sporadic. Restaurant very accommodation . Food delicious as expected . At night whole site very dark and confusing. We loved the location and the whole mood. I would suggest you get out and visit the waterfall / Elephants etc. Pick the right “recovery” elephant sanctuary. Not an elephant ride show.

We stayed at this beautiful hotel in early July. We were supposed to stay somewhere else and switched to the Four Seasons and I am glad we did. The staff are wonderful and the property is beautiful. We had a large room with a view of the rice fields. We had a large patio with a swing. They clean the room twice a day. The breakfast here is outstanding. I was so impressed the staff remembered my drink order the second and third day. They have someone who cuts fresh fruit each morning. We ate at both restaurants for dinner. Our food was wonderful at both locations. I can’t say enough about this hotel. They have activities such as clay animals and tie dying. We did the tie dying. Heather was a great teacher and very helpful. We were happy with how our pieces came out. I definitely suggest staying at this hotel when you are in Chang Mai.

The only hotel that I have been to that is anywhere near comparable to this is Ritz Carlton in Ubud. The hotel grounds at four seasons is impeccably beautiful. The activities (farmers parade, buffalo washing, rice planting) they have in the hotel are sufficient to entertain you and the kids. The staff are all extremely polite (Omkar at reception, Fai at dinner, Heather at Kids Club - special shout-out to heather she was very patient and flexible with the activities, kept us and our kid entertained for quite a while). All in all, possibly the best hotel I have stayed in. One worth revisiting. Oh yes, the dinner at Khao is actually very good - I’m generally skeptical of food in luxurious properties - I find them usually over engineered - but food at Khao was fantastic. Try this, even if it be for a night, well worth it despite the hefty price tag.
