Cute little cabins above the Intag River. I loved getting lulled to sleep with the sound of the river. The breakfast was delicious--maybe the best I've had in Ecuador, with fresh juice (real fruit and no added sugar), plus homemade bread, omelette, greens, baked tomato and more! And that was just the first day! The next day featured pancakes topped with fruit. For a bed and breakfast, the value is amazing, and the family that prepares and serves the meals are very sweet and accommodating. We opted for dinner and again, the meals were outstanding.

Wifi in the dining room and on the outside porch was more than adequate. Location is fantastic. We hiked to a nearby waterfall on the far side of the Intag River and enjoyed the Nangulvi Hot Springs, just a 15-minute walk from Pacheco. Other activities in the area we pursued: a trip up to Guliman, an archeological site atop a ridge, a hike to El Placer waterfalls from Santa Rosa, and a hike to the waterfalls (and plunge) Cascada de La Plata.

I arrived in Pacheco for my birthday and have been celebrated as I already was part of the family. I've booked only two nights but stayed one week, because I was feeling at home. This place is so relaxing and the landscapes are simply amazing ! And food is delicious, that was clearly the best menus I found in a guest house in or hostel. People living and working there are really caring and lovely, there definitely is this community feeling making it a special experience for me. Pacheco is a place that we can call a hidden gem and I hope to return in Ecuador to come back in this magical place and see my friends again !

This place is a brilliant get away.
Please come to enjoy the quietness, but most of all the food.
It is prepared with great care and attention to detail.

If you decide to stay, do have the meals here, there are out of this world!
The soundtrack of the nearby river and wildlife also makes it quite special!

We had no other properties to compare with Pacheco. Internet write-up was better than the real experience.
Good by Ecuador rural standards, but facilities were dated.
We stayed in one of the two cabins. It was so small that you had to go outside to change your mind. Rooms in main house are larger, but I as m not sure that all have private bathrooms .
Food was good and bilingual owner was very accommodating. Meals are served family style and handled well.

After 10 days touring Ecuador and staying the night in a variety of hostel's, nothing can compare coming home to the rustic Pacheco Farmhouse in the Intag Valley. You are treated like family when you arrive. The food is excellent, prepared by an Ecuadorian Chef consisting of the most fresh farm grown vegetables and raised meats. Great choice of excellent wines from Argentina and Chile. The coffee is the best I have ever tasted which is organically grown in the Intag Valley. The atmosphere with the background sounds of the raging Intag river will put you a in a tranquil mood before bedtime. You have a choice of sleeping in either two different cottage houses or several rooms in the farmhouse itself with your own bathroom, and yes: hot water showers! The beds are so comfortable: you feel like you are floating on a cloud with the background sound of the Intag River. No problem if you don't speak Spanish, as the owners speak English and will go out of their way to suit all of your needs. The Pacheco Farmhouse will always be my first choice when vising Ecuador.

Jimena and her staff are some of the friendlist people you will meet. This B&B is such a relaxing place, the meals are excellent (and healthy), and the setting is beautiful. Intag Valley is such a gorgeous place. From the Farmhouse, you can walk to some waterfalls or to the thermal hot springs. The staff was more than helpful in explaining all the other activites in Intag Valley and arranging any transportation. There is free wifi and a small lounge and hammocks to lounge in. The rooms are clean and you can stay in the main building/house or stay in one of the small cabins. I highly recommend this place.

My husband and I have just spent the most fantastic 4 days here! The setting beside the river is just gorgeous! What makes the place, however, are the people who run it. From the moment you arrive, jimena ensures that you feel like the vip guest!

Fell in love with this little B&B immediately! I came here planning to stay two nights and ended up staying over a week. The owners were so welcoming which made it very easy to feel at home for a little while, and always had good chats in the evenings over dinner which was a treat. The surroundings are absolutely gorgeous! The B&B itself is situated right next to the river which makes for an incredibly calm and peaceful backdrop of nature . The food was fresh and yummy, coffee was outstanding and interior of the rooms very cosy! My best stay in Ecuador by a mile. Highly recommended! Will be back for sure some time.

We were four persons who went one day and one night to this really nice farmhouse. Our friend already knew it before and we were really happy that she took us with her to visit this area. We had a wonderful room with a lot of space. Also the food was so great - really tasty and made with a lot of love, we felt that :) Breakfast was included in the price. Intag (or the landscape there) is really beautiful - it's a quiet place, perfect for relaxing, reading a book, hiking, breathing fresh air or just letting your thoughts flow. We enjoyed our stay a lot - we definitely would return. Thanks to the team for everything - we left happy. It's good that such places exist!

It is hard to sum up our experience at Pacheco Farmhouse in a paragraph or two. We arrived to Pacheco after nearly four months of travel. Plenty of good and positive experiences along the way with other B&B’s but this was different. For us, Pacheco was the place we fully realized why we left our lives, jobs, house, and family to travel the world for a year… Pacheco offered us sanctuary, connection, meaning and rejuvenation.

The nature surrounding Pacheco is stunning with hikes and outdoorsy adventures to fill your days with plenty of memories and photos. But, this nature also offers you the option to spend a day or two, or three… doing nothing and just BEING. Sleeping by the river was soothing and it was impossible for us to have a night of restless sleep. Waking to birds chirping and the sunshine was a daily gift. And going to sleep was equally tranquil—sometimes getting nights with a clear sky and stars, basking in the full moon as it reflected on the river and enjoying the twinkling lights of lightening bugs.

Your meals will be organic, delicious and creative. Aside from fresh-made breads, locally sourced everything and meals made with love, you will get to sit together with other travelers, sometimes the owners, over candlelit meals with curious, engaging, inspiring conversation.

After almost 4 months and less than 10 hours of conversation (we’re learning Spanish, but not enough to have meaningful conversations) Pacheco offered us the chance to connect with people from all over the world in flowing, meaningful, often hilarious conversations. It’s the kind of thing that feeds the soul. The meals are nourishing and perfectly made—wine, beer and other spirits to accompany meals. Filtered, delicious water (you don’t have to buy bottled water!) was a much appreciated treat too.

The rooms and cabins are cozy, comfortable and designed with consideration for guests needs and wants. Clean, bright and cheerful—each space has its own splash of personality. It was a gift to be able to have our own bathroom too and hot showers! Our bed was SO comfortable, we sometimes struggled to leave it. Internet in our room, in the main house, was fast and reliable. And for guests in the cabins, just come in and sit in the living room for fast internet, while enjoying the view of the river and the lush green mountains.

The grounds of Pacheco are magical. There really isn’t another word to describe them. As soon as you land at Pacheco, you’ll feel your worries fade. That long drive or bus ride… gone. Worries about arranging the next leg of your journey… gone. Pacheco is the spot to recalibrate and rejuvenate. This place is heavenly. Jimena and her crew are some of the best, most interesting humans we’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. Jimena will give you information and guidance on anything you’d like to do in the area or questions you have. They are responsive so if you need something, be sure to ask.

Every night around the table I got to hear other guests share how much they LOVED the place--for everyone it offered something uniquely special that somehow met a diverse group of peoples' needs perfectly.

Seriously--STAY HERE. For at least 3 nights, more if your schedule allows. it will be a highlight of your journey.
