Room was spotless, great shower, even had a wee fridge. Fantastic home-cooked locally sourced quality food. Very friendly hosts who looked after us with a mixture of Yorkshire and Scottish hospitality. Unique juke-box in the bar!!

Landlord and landlady very friendly as are the customers. The home made food is very tasty, I especially enjoy any of the fish dishes,, my husband loves the pies. There is usually a short wait for food so you know it is freshly cooked, not mass produced unsavoury fast food. Also pet friendly. Looking forward to eating here again next...

Stayed in the triple room last might which was more than big enough for our 3 generations. It was equipped with everything we could have asked for and more, tea, coffee, water, toiletries etc etc. We enjoyed a lovely Sunday roast last night and breakfast was amazing! Everyone was so welcoming, friendly and helpful, nothing too much trouble. We couldn't...

We were staying in a cottage 2 minutes away from the Thistle Inn for 2 weeks. We went in for a drink the first night of the holiday and were made to feel extremely welcome as soon as we stepped through the door. Could not have asked for a nicer couple as Nick and Dee the owners. We spent many...

We stayed at the Thistle inn for three nights when we participated the Tough Mudder Scotland and i must admit it was the right decision stay at this hotel. The owners are nice and nothing was a problem for them. The rooms are new and clean. The breakfast was fair, nothing to write about and has space to improve. We...

Nick and Denise are very genuine and welcoming. They took the trouble to make sure that all our needs were catered for. Nick has a fine selection of real ales in the bar and the meals were of a high standard. Very impressed with room cleanliness. Will stay here again. Phil

Last minute one night stay. Made to feel welcome immediately introduced to and interacted with the locals.Room very comfy with the advantage of a microwave and a fridge, not usual in b+bs. Fresh fruit including really sweet tomatoes, a nice touch. Mints and complimentary soaps all nice little touches. Ate a banging dinner that night, recommend the rack of lamb...

Friendly bar, fantastic food. Bedroom was actually a large suite with separate lounge, kitchen complete with oven, microwave, fridge. Nick and Dee were incredibly welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. We were treated like long lost friends rather than hotel guests. The food was also excellent - we went in hoping for good pub food, to be met with...
