A last minute change in our travel itinerary due to a tip from the owner of Park Distillery in Banff and we ended up here. So glad we did! An easy walk (and easier with use of the cart) lead us to many camp sites (some with fire pits and some without) where you can hear the Takkakaw Falls waterfall.... More

We weren't originally planning to stay at this campground and only made our way here because other campgrounds in the area were all fully occupied. How thankful were we once we saw this one! Thanks to the fact that you need to park your car hundreds of meters away from the campground and then walk to the campground makes it... More

We love this campground and go at least once a year. It is for tents only and is first come first serve so get here earlier in the day and particularly before a weekend as it is a popular spot. You need to walk in 500 meters, but there are wheelbarrows around to help you load in your gear. It... More

I love staying at this campsite. The drive up from the highway is scenic, and the falls are stunning. Many campsites have a perfect view of the falls. The campground is small and basic, well maintained, and the bathrooms and water area are clean. This is one of my favorite campgrounds!

A beautiful ride and walk to the falls. You could get almost right under it and feel the spray! We didn't stay at the camp grounds, but definitely worth taking a picnic lunch to and enjoying the day there.

Since this campground is first come first serve we arrived around noon on the Friday of the labour day long weekend to ensure we got a spot. They have carts to help you bring your stuff from your car to the campground, so you don't have to carry everything in from the parking lot. There were lots of sites left-... More

There are 3 campgrounds here. Monarch is more open, very basic, but not so deep in the mountains so it is warmer. Whiskey Jack has more amenities and you need to lineup for a spot. Be there by 11:00. The furthest one is a walk in tenting only. Again basic but quiet There is a parking lot and small wagons... More

We didn't stop at the campsite but if this is the view I would have done!! It's a winding 13km to the falls from the main road but a scenic one. When the falls come into site it is breathtaking! We parked up and walked over the bridge (quick game of poo sticks) and through the trees on to the... More

We loved this site! We tent camped here (only tents allowed) for 1 night. You have to park in the waterfall car park and walk the 400m in. There are trolleys to help though. The pitches are all great and quite private. Ours had a great view of the falls (from a distance of about 500m) and the noise of... More

We didn't stay at the campground but stopped by the falls on our way from Banff to Golden. Would recommend a visit, the waterfall is out of this world and offers great photo opporunities. We saw some brave climbers on the rock face, it looks very advanced though so wouldn't recommend for the beginners. It's quite an easy trek to... More
