We thoroughly enjoyed our three nights at Mas de Garrigue. The buildings have real charm and have been thoughtfully restored by Steve and Sarah. It would be difficult to imagine more idyllic surroundings. Our room was in a restored barn, and having stayed in may bed and breakfasts all over the world, this was undoubtedly one of our favourites bedrooms anywhere. The owners could not be more friendly or forthcoming with suggestions on visits and restaurants. In addition, the breakfast was lovely and the dinner night was outstanding. Go to Mas de Garrigue, you won't regret it.
We were tempted to write a poor review to stop people coming , so those "in the know" kept it to themselves- but clearly that's not possible judging by the other reviews! Thank you Steve and Sarah who helped us hire bikes and make dinner reservations, amongst many other things. We were made to feel so welcome, we met some lovely guests and enjoyed their company over the delicious home made breakfasts and dinner. Clearly, Sarah was an interior designer in another life - her home is sumptuous but homely. It was a real tonic staying here and will will miss the beauty and warmth. Many thanks , Fiona and Russ Thompson, UK
Period. We've stayed in hundreds of B&B's over the years...yes hundreds. Friends have suggested I write a guide. This B&B has a special magic rarely experienced. It takes many things to make a B&B great but Mas de Garrigue has them all. It is a beautiful architecturally interesting home with historical significance and it sits on a gorgeous piece of property with views that mesmerize...it is renovated with excellent taste. Every detail has been thought of and if one has been left out, just mention it and I'm quite sure Steve and Sarah will be on it! Breakfasts are abundant and if you are lucky enough to have Sarah cook dinner...well that's another blessing in itself. But I think the true secret belongs to the owners-an Irish couple who give new meaning to the word…
Sarah and Steve were fantastic host! Butterfly and Louis were also great. (Butterfly the horse and Louis the donkey). All meals were fantastic and really showed off Sarah's French culinary training and Steve's server skills were second to none. Their knowledge of the area was fantastic which was so helpful for our photographic endeavors.
If you get the chance to stay at the Mas de Garrigue near the town of Calvignac in the Lot River valley jump and run to take the chance! This is paradise, there is no other word. The location, old towns and castles, and surrounding scenery are world-class, but not so well known as to be spoiled. The Mas de Garrigue itself is beautiful from the details to the overall setting. Each bedroom is splendid, and Sarah and Steve are the best possible hosts. Highly recommended!
