The hotel location is wonderful, the stuff are friendly specially the front desk ,the arabic food was okay but the italian night was horrible ,no valet parking on arrival no bellboys, no guidance to the room or support with luggage , the wifi was weak
La-men-ta-ble. Ciertamente no da ganas de volver! My English version: This is our third stay this year. The staff at the front desk and the service at the restaurant are fine, which make for a pleasant stay. All this doesn't make up for the appalling service at the tea room, which is not on a par with the rest of what is on offer. Not only is the variety of items available very limited (don't even dream of anything being homemade!) and really unappealing, but the service leaves much to be desired. My wife and I asked for two hot drinks: a macchiato and a cappuccino. What we got was whitish and did not taste to coffee in the least. Upon bringing this to the attention of the guy who served us, he simply replied that that was the way they served their drinks here. We certainly don't feel like returning!…
An innkeeper elsewhere in Uruguay suggested that I stay at Hotel Nirvana, and I am glad that I did. As a visiting birder, I found the extensive gardens especially enjoyable, what with all the various birds foraging there. The room was large and comfortable, and the restaurant served me an excellent Swiss-style sausage dinner, as well as a sumptuous breakfast.
The Hotel Nirvana Resort and Spa is an oasis away from the fray of modernity. Come here to decompress and get away from the maddening world. Regrettably, we could only stay for five nights but rest assured another visit down the road is already on the bucket list. The place transports you to another era in time. Elegant quaintness is the words that come to mind. There are no TVs in the rooms though WIFI is available, bathrooms are modern, and the food served is very European (French, Swiss, Spanish, and of course Uruguayan). Copious breakfast included. Immaculate gardens surround the hotel, two pools (inside and outdoors), gym all available and welcomed. Unlimited choice activities from horseback riding, tennis, bicycles available. Furniture and beds hark back to another point in history, all relaxing and comfortable. Something that you would find in the Swiss country-side. Staff are exceptional catering to all your needs. Worth every penny to stay at this oasis in the farming area of Uruguay and to plan visits to Colonia del Sacramento and the old town of Colonia. Not surprising cheeses and chocolates are produced in the area..…
I stayed at the Nirvana 2 nights for a Corporate Event, it had been years since my last visit. The hotel has a particular heritage, it transports you to somewhere in Europe in the 50s. It is a very spacious and comfortable building with lots of social areas, including a cinema, a great restaurant and bar. It is great if you are around during good weather because the gardens are beautiful. In general everything is very well maintained. The rooms are very cozy, mine did not have a TV - which kind of goes with the relaxing intent of the hotel, but it something to consider. WiFi is relatively good and free. I cannot speak too much about the spa or other activities available, I know the hotel has plenty but I did not try them. For a business conference, I found it great as it has a lot of open spaces that are cozy and inviting. the conference rooms are very good and the service is great. Aside from business, I would definitely recommend this hotel for a quiet weekend or a few days of retreat. I was there during business days which is great because not many people stay, but in the weekend note that the hotel will be more crowded, and probably with a family ambiance.…
I was there 60 years ago and came back last year and it was very nice, it has an old and elegant furniture, no TV in the rooms and antique lift, but beautiful gardens and very nice food. The stuff was very helpful and I could get with there help in contact with people that I had not met 60 years. Lovely holiday.
Always from the bad( Hotel Suizo ) you can take sth. good Because of the bad attention in Hotel Suizo we come to Nirvana and was the complete opposite ... Great food , friendly attention and we feel very welcome... We recommend the cheese fondue..
70 year old very charming hotel that mantains ,ideal for stays with children. Has a loveable surrounding and park with equipment for children amusement and outdoor training equipment .Large outdoor as well as inner swimming pool. The cuisine is excellent.
Loved every minute of being in this hotel. The land it stands on is beautiful, where you can walk and explore the open space. The hotel is amazing, making you feel welcome as soon as you walk in. The building is well looked after but has kept the old farm feel which I loved. You can do so many different activities, walking swimming, tennis, football, horse riding and many more. It really is a hotel for the family as they have rooms full of children's toys, activities they even have people working to look after the kids whilst your doing whatever. The staff were all so helpful in looking after us when we needed help or weren't sure of something. At meal times they have a wide variety of food and all served fantasticly. You could not fault the restaurant staff. They helped translate any thing you didn't understand on the menu, kept topping your drinks up without you having to ask them too. Just a fantastic hotel that I would definitely come back to. …
The hotel is aging, but I enjoyed my stay. There are options for horseback riding, taking walks around their extensive property, bikes to use, an easy trip to downtown Nueva Helvecia, but removed enough to be quiet. I didn't use the spa, but the pool was nice.
