This is Caineville, as there doesn't appear to be anything else in the area. The motel will suddenly appear as you're driving and you're probably not prepared to make a sudden stop. The motel is on the old side but has been remodeled and was a comfortable stay. The owners are

Yes, the hotel is the only business in Caineville, although we do have a few neighbors. We are located at mile marker 99- 18 miles west of Hanksville, and 30 miles east of Torrey. I hope this helps. The hotel was built in the mid 90's, and the rooms were renovated just two years ago with new beds, tv, fridge, microwave, bedding, etc. We love having Sadie here. She comforts a lot of travelers who miss their pets at home. We are a pet friendly motel-it is $15 plus the room rate. We are 10 miles from the East boundary to the park. We are glad you enjoyed your stay, and thanks for the review. Kris

This was the best Rodeway Inn in which I have ever stayed. It is not close to restaurants or other activities but in exchange for that you get a hotel nestled in a scenic paradise.

The couple who run the hotel are wonderful and ultra friendly and helpful. The rooms are super

Thank you so much for writing us this review! We are so glad you enjoyed your time here. I love waking up and having the mesa be my view- it is stunning. I really appreciate the time you took to notice how hard we work to keep the rooms nice and tidy. We are glad to have hosted you and hope to again on your next adventure to the West. Take care. Kris

Owners are very friendly and helpful in planning visits to local attractions. Room was quite clean. Quiet location but plan for food because it's a half hour trip to the nearest restaurants in Torrey. Owners do have some food for sale in the lobby. What a pleasant stay!

Thank you Bill for this review. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. It is a remote location, but we love it for night sky and peaceful sleep. We were glad to help you plan your activities, and hope you loved beautiful Southern Utah. Hope to see you again- bring some steaks, and we will grill out on the propane barbeque! Safe travels, and thanks again. Kris and Curtis

My husband and I did a quick trip to 3 of Utah's national parks in 3 days. Torrey had more lodging and restaurants, but we wanted a place to stay between Canyonlands NP and Moab that would save us driving time so we decided to stay in Caineville. Over the phone, the manager Kris

Thank you so very much for this kind and detailed review. I love that the toiletries we have are the same as your honeymoon...it is awesome how little things like that can evoke other happy memories. And I am SO glad you took scenic hwy 128- it is one of my favorites. We really appreciate the time you took to detail the features of the hotel. And we love chatting with you over breakfast. It is one of our fave times of the day-spending a little more time with people and getting to know them a little better. Hope to see you again in future travels. Kris and Curtis

Two weeks ago, while seeing the five nationals parks in Utah, my wife and I had the pleasure of staying at the Rodeway Inn Capitol Reef in Caineville. What a pleasant experience. Kris and Curtis, the innkeepers, were warm, gracious, caring and downright nice. Kris even went so fa

Dear Bob, Thank you dearly for the review and the kind things you said about us. Of course we are friends-sometimes we make them in the strangest of circumstances! We sincerely hope Karen is getting along well after her unfortunate situation, and we hope that you two were able to enjoy the rest of your trip. (Did she start using those crutches as a pointer to highlight petroglyphs or other areas of interest, like we joked about?) We hope to see you again, and that you are both getting along quite well. Our talks were much better than the wine, but at least there was some! Kindest regards, and thanks again.

Is there a restaurant open in the evening or somewhere nearby to eat?
The closest restaurant is Luna Mesa but it was closed at the time I was there because of mud. there was a big storm which rained a lot. Luna Mesa should be open now. Next choice is to head east to a little town called Hanksville. I believe there are three restaurants to choose from. I do not recommend going west to Torrey because of the distance.

"I always choose upstairs rooms. Tend to be better. No elevator here though."
"2nd floor corner room is a nice size and very quite"
"Any room is fine. Ground floor is best for luggage."
"No elevator. two floors. If stairs are an issue, be sure to request a ground floor."
"There are only 16 rooms at this hotel. Trust Curtis and Kris to give you the best they have to offer!"
