Our visit was somewhat marred by the young receptionist who regaled us with a story about a man who hanged himself in our room and that also one of the managers had experience sleep paralysis when he stayed in the room. We asked to change our room and was offered a disabled one which we agreed. The room was ok but the beds were most uncomfortable table and the toilet was leaking all over the wet room floor. All In All not a good experience On a positive note the breakfast was good but I wouldn’t go rushing back to stay there again.

Beautiful building and grounds but room the smallest i’ve ever stayed in with the narrowest single bed known to man! Comfortable as long as I didn’t roll over as I would have rolled out. Poor - non existent - service in bar resulted in no pre- dinner drink. Drink ordered in restaurant instead .... didn’t arrive for ages. They must have known I need to cut down... 45 minutes after ordering, my steak arrived. Where my soup went I have no idea. They must have known i’m on a diet...Food itself was lovely. And all the staff seemed lovely. Maybe just not enough of them?? Will book into a monastery next time - rooms bigger and more food

Lived like royalty for a night. Wonderful service and food. Lovely bedroom and bathroom with sparkling white linens and towels. Amazing gardens with a peacock - not so good at 4am. Would love to stay here again.

We recently hired the venue for my daughter's wedding. The venue was excellent and the staff were fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble and some staff went above and beyond to make our day special. Our guests gave very positive feedback and were so impressed with the day . Special thanks to Siobhan, Joel,Debbie and Tracey. There was a member of staff too who was excellent in entertaining the baby during the speeches - he giggled alot instead of shouting - thank you to her too. The food was excellent and the staff paid attention to detail throughout the event. I highly recommend Chicheley as a wedding venue. A special mention for the beautiful peacocks in the fabulous grounds too.

My husband and I were wedding guests at this venue and had an overnight stay. The hotel and grounds were lovely and our bedroom was very comfortable. Staff and reception were very friendly and professional. Breakfast menu was varied with ample choice. On the downside the bar prices were extremely high to say the least.
