It is a beautiful hotel and has delicious food!!! They have the history of el Zorro and the ex Hacienda is amazing. Take the tour to the river and walk downtown. Also can visit El Fuerte right in front of the hotel. Great service also!!!

Great place, friendly people and good prices. This hotel is worth a tour even if you are not able to stay there as there so many beautiful pieces of art both pottery and painting. The building does not look great from the outside but inside it is clean and very functional. The rooms that open onto the courtyard are best....

At the start of your train trip to Copper Canyon, stay here in El Fuerte. The staff is very helpful. The rooms all face an inner courtyard. Lots of history and charm. The small pool is not heated. Wifi in the lobby. Very close to a nice river walk.

We were a group of 12 and stayed at this beautiful hotel for 2 nights (at each end of our Copper Canyon Tour). We had breakfast and dinner included in our package and the meals were VERY good. I particularly loved just walking around and just exploring this beautiful old hotel and admiring all the old style Mexican décor. We...

The whole place is filled with antiques including the rooms. It is a nice peaceful place to stay while enjoying the town. Also the start of the Copper Canyon train. A variety of good restaurants and friendly people and lots of history.

The common areas are decorated with colorful tiles and many interesting objects. I enjoyed sitting in different areas and looking at the views while reading a book. The rooms are large and clean. A little bit of basic maintenance in the rooms could increase the rating to excellent. The first room they put me in had a noisy ceiling fan....

We had a great stay. The beds were comfortable, the rooms clean and the breakfast was good. The coffee was the only thing that wasn't very good. Our family of 5 got a room with 3 beds which was great. Very friendly staff. The grounds keeper even washed my car. I would recommend this hotel.

Wonderful staff, beautifully appointed in Mexican style, kitchen served us a good reasonably priced breakfast with lots of coffee. The room was clean, great linens, and lots of hot water. Nice television. No Wi-Fi in the room but it was available in the lobby. The river walk, Malecon is one block away, as is the Fort and the central square....

Loved the gardens and the central patio of the hotel, it's like a museum, I really felt like the hotel staff wanted to make a great stay for me. They care for their customers. The food was very good and Miguel the waiter was so good to us.
