After two stays in floating houses we tried a pile house. This was spacious and very comfortable for two persons (equipped with a large double bed). The view - if in one of the outer houses - is much better than in most of the floating houses. Even if the weather is cloudy or chilly - just stay in bed longer and enjoy the views through the large window front, watching the sea birds. The small kitchenette hidden in a cupboard is equipped to prepare a light meal or breakfast for two (croissants and buns will be delivered to the door upon request). Alternatively there is a restaurant in the resort with a good choice, also offering breakfast. In summer you may dive into the sea from your own terrace or platform an you may bring your own boat. In spring time you may alternatively go for a hike or rent a bike to explore the island and the nearby town of Putbus with a view sights and restaurants/cafés.

The resort is located off the beaten path, away from the many tourists in Binz, Sellin, Baabe etc. next to the Baltic Sea and the harbor of Lauterbach. No matter if you go with the cool pile suites, floating homes or stay on land at one of the apartments you always have scenic views over the bay and the picturesque island of Vilm. Although the main target group is sailors the resort is well suited for families with kids as well. Our fellow guests were considerate and their kids well behaved. Im Jaich has a cute little playground on site and another one a little further at the end of a promenade along the bay. All apartments, pile suites and floating homes have well equipped kitchens or kitchenettes, an appealing interior and linens and towels are included as well, which is still not the standard in Germany when renting vacation homes! The historic train ‘Rasender Roland’ has a train station right next door and you can rent bikes, and boats on site as well. Starting from Lauterbach is a scenic bike way that goes 16k to Baabe along less known gems on the island such as Gross Stresow and Seedorf. Instead of biking back to Lauterbach just take the historic train back to the harbor and store your bike in the bike wagon. Im Jaich has an own restaurant “The Kormoran” that has a nice drink and beer selection and makes some good pizzas. It is located right at the bay overlooking Baltic Sea, the yacht harbor and pile suites. A short walk away is Lauterbach harbor with more restaurants and a boat that sells fresh smoked fish daily. On the other side along the bay is Badehaus Goor a former electoral bathing house that was turned in a hotel and restaurant. From the terrace you have a scenic view over the bay as well. + scenic location + off the tourist trails + quiet and relaxing + good for sailors, couples and families w kids + restaurants close by + morning breakfast rolls delivery service + bike and boat rental + train station right next door + supermarkets just a short drive away Credit cards accepted.

We paid € 575 for 6 nights in an ice-cold apartment. We stayed from 13 – 20 Oct. 2015, at night the heating was turned off at 11pm., and turned on next morning. At 2pm. There was about 10 c. in our apartment. Our 3 years old daughter got a cold, and we had to sleep in our clothes. We told about the problem in the reception, but they did not care at all. Rügen is a fantastic place, but we will stay away from Im-Jaich

Stayed in a 3 bedroomed house. The units are very well equipped and have all the necessary amenities for self catering. All the equipment was in good condition and relatively new. The lounge and dining area in the unit is lovely and can accommodate more than 6 people comfortably. We travelled as a family of 12 (had another two units) but we had meals and evening get togethers in our unit and it was comfortable (the children sat in the lounge area for meals). The facilities around the hotel are fantastic too and everything is within walking distance. Fantastic restaurants in the area. We booked a full day sailing excursion for the whole family - 12 people plus 4 dogs and everyone had a great day. If you are looking for something to do I would highly recommend this for everyone. Very age appropriate for all ages - we had an 8 year old and an 80 year old in our group and both had a great day. Another great feature was that everyday you could order fresh rolls to be delivered to your door - this was an extra treat every morning.

Very nice full equipped apartment, with kitchen, bathroom with shower , small bedroom. We had an apartment on the ground but there is several apartments on the piles on the water where you can leave your boat. It can be good solution on summer time.
