What an experience and hospitality at the Taj Exotica Maldives. We had a superb stay from every aspect, from departing the Airport terminal on arrival, the Boat ride to the Resort, the warm Welcome at the Jetty by Ms. Yuki and Ms. Elena, we were given a tour of the Island and an Early Check In which was so much appreciated. We were treated like royalty. Our personal butler Mr. Salah was so warm knowledgeable and cooperative, so much so that He even booked our Spa treatment.
The Villa and Housekeeping We stayed in a Water Villa with a plunge pool which was so tastefully decorated, comfortable and ease of doing things around the Villa. Our Housekeeper Mr. Shaheen together with Mr. Samooh were so kind and gentle and cleanliness of the Villa was up to date. Always guided us on matters and the Lagoon. Surprised us one evening with a BED make up of rose petals and swans designed from the Hand Towels. Was just stunning. The Dining We were spoilt to the core with the service and hospitality at the 24 degrees Restaurant. Mr Shujaa - Shaafu - Ismail - were just brilliant and always attentive to our needs and request. We never experienced a NO at any time. the variety of Cuisines and Dishes were enough to satisfy anyone's palate. Chef Rajesh.. This Chef and gentleman needs a gold medal if not more.He went out of his way preparing Dishes for us which were not on the Menu, and what an end result they were. Just too good. On our last dinner made some very special treats which were just awesome. The Life Saving team of Hassen and Hameed were very kind helpful Our most frequent Buggy driver Mr Shrikanth also awesome
The Dolphin Cruise led my Mr Huhthu was incredible, witnessed an amazing display and show from the Dolphins.
Over and above my little comments it will go without exaggeration to say that our Holiday was a Holiday of a Lifetime and a dream, and our score will remain 10/10 in every way.
When we called Concierge for the collection of our Luggage at the time of departure, that was the last we handled our Luggage until having to take it off the baggage carousel at our next destination. That is how superb the service was, we were escorted in the Departure and Check In area at Male Airport like VIPs.
A first of its kind experience for us and hopefully not the last. Cannot wait to plan our next visit to the Taj Exotica Maldives Resort and Spa.
I am sure I must have missed out some Names but you all were just great.
A huge Thank you to the entire team for making our stay so comfortable and with memories that will last a lifetime.

We visited the Taj Exotica during the days before Christmas 2019, for our 20th wedding anniversary, complete with two daughters,13 & 16, in tow.
We had a 2-bedroom beach villa, which was huge; kids upstairs in their large double room and huge en-suite bathroom, with balcony to the ocean, all really well fitted out.
On the ground floor we had an even bigger suite, with inside and outside showers, our own personal dedicated spa treatment room, living room and cloakroom, small kitchen with beverages for free, and a covered outside dining terrace, where they present the most amazing breakfast trays, or afternoon teas, the villa is probably around 3000 sq. ft.
Outside we had our own pool, hammock and direct access to the most perfect beach, which you can stroll down to the dining areas, where there is hardly a dish they will not prepare for you.
The anniversary surprise touches were really cool, we’d return form dinner to find a huge heart shape on the white linen bed made up of deep red rose petals, and a similar display floating on top of a bubble bath.
The villa was kept immaculate by the happiest of staff. Food is always fresh, and freshly prepared, by even more smiley staff.
Boat transfers were efficient, free and never kept us waiting.
The thing that had concerned us were the reports of airplane noise which have had a fair few mentions in the reviews. Well, I can assure you it did not cause the slightest intrusion to us all the time we were there, and, coming up to Christmas there were no shortage of aircraft. But they are too far away to present as an irritation, you occasionally hear a distant hum, which is of no consequence, and you have to scan the skies to find the culprit, as they are not that close to the island… my daughter’s ear buds make more noise pollution; I can only assume that those who made a big fuss over aircraft noise, were just grumpy old men who could find nothing more of substance to moan about on this beautiful little island, we will certainly be returning. We were received at the airport by Ali. He was extremely professional, took good care of our bags, escorted us to a coffee shop at the airport first and offered us some coffee. We were then taken to the speedboat which was just arranged for us, there was absolutely no other guest in the boat and we were given ample privacy. The transfer to the property was an experience on its own. Considering the time of the day when we were arriving at the hotel (around 7.30am) ,we were gladly given a complimentary early check-in the moment we arrived. Being a honeymoon couple, we really looked forward to spending more time in the beautiful deluxe lagoon villa with infinity pool, and this gesture really won our hearts. Yasmina and Morgan received us from the boat, took a picture for us very gladly and Yasmina then took us to the room in a buggy, did an in room check in as well. Very pleased with her attitude and interpersonal skills. Also helped us fix our itinerary and activities for the next day, kudos Yasmina. We were then assisted by Simo who was another kind and helpful gentleman. Kept checking on our comfort and was really helpful in arranging our transfer back to the Costa Cruise bay near the port. I really commend him for his efforts and personalization. The Duty Manager, Jinan was a thorough gentleman who took care of our concerns very professionally and updated us on our queries in real time. One of the best duty managers i have come accross. Thanks Jinan. The villa itself was so serene and beautiful, its THE place to stay in, when at Maldives. The housekeeping team did an amazing job keeping the room completely hygienic and spotless clean. Considering the property to be close to 20 years old, we never expected it to look this new and so wonderfully maintained. A wide range of activities were on offer on affordable prices, which is a big plus as we never had to step out of the property to indulge in any of the experiences we really wanted to do. We found everything right there. From fishes, sharks, to Sun Conure parrots, we saw them all. Naveen is another great guy who helped us with snorkeling. He was really MASTER of his trade. My wife had this dream to snorkel, although she doesn't know how to swim, and Naveen made this dream of hers come true. She was mesmerized by the experience and i can never thank Naveen enough for what he did for us. All the staff at the breakfast area were really nice especially Riyaz who stood there and made sure he spoke to us at length and gave us good company through and through. I am really looking forward to coming back again and will surely recommend this property highly to all my friends who intend to visit Maldives anytime in future. We visited the Taj Exotica Maldives in the second week of November after months of lockdown, it was the perfect get away with our family of 4. At first, before booking we were apprehensive about the potential risk, but the safety measures executed by the hotel reassured us. All staff were in masks at a times, all common areas were regularly sanitised, in addition the Government requires all incoming passengers to provide a covid negative certificate, combined with the seclusion of being on an private island resort, mitigates most of the risk in my opinion. From the arrivals at the airport the warm Taj hospitality experience begins. A short 20 minutes boat ride to the resort brought us to the paradise that this resort is. The check in was quick and efficient, even with the additional paperwork and declarations that had to be done. Neville was always available from the time we checked in to checkout and took care of all our needs, and checking in with us throughout our stay, made us very comfortable. The rooms are well appointed and spacious, all amenities are in place to take care of daily need, abundance of bottled water in reusable glass bottles vs plastic was great to see. Our room had a private punlge pool and direct access to the beautiful lagoon for snorkelling. The beach was 15 meters from our room so we had great access to the lagoon and beach. The resort is a great place to Scuba dive and the dive center is very proficient to make first time divers comfortable in this otherwise daunting activity. Sawad at the divec enter was excellent, his attention to the safety and comfort of our kids aged 8 and 12 during their first dives was excellent. He is an excellent instructor and guided our 12 year old son to get his Padi scuba diver certification. At the 24 degrees restaurant the staff was always warm and were quick to take care of any of our requests. Ali Ashraf and Chef Manali made the already excellent experience spectacular. The Jiva Spa is a tranquil oasis in this already excellent resort. The treatment rooms are so close to the water that the sound of the waves adds to the serenity of the spa experience. the therapists were excellent. Overall an excellent experience all around.

My wife booked a 5 night 6 day stay for us here. We had been to The Kani Resort albeit a few years ago so to be honest we did not do much research or 'concern' ourselves about some of the comments left on TA about previous guests comments. Well I can say if was Fantastic! We had a great enjoyable time here and ALL the staff were brilliant. Right from Simo our 'butler' to the guys who looked after us in the 24 Degree's restaurant namely Suchen and Huessain they were great to chat with. Also the beach attendant who made up our sun loungers each morning for us and kept us hydrated with cold bottles of water. All the staff here are wonderful! This is not a new resort some 17 years old but it is well maintained. It is clean, very tidy and the accomodation has quality bedding, towels that are spotless, quality shampoo's and soaps, great water pressure in the shower and a great in room coffee machine plus ample amounts of free drinking water. Alcohol is not cheaop but then its all imported. We would take a drinks package next time ( I highly suggest this as a schooner of draught is $14US plus your local taxes of 22%. Wines are about $10 . Apart from that we found everything else was fine. Your on holiday and so there's not much else to spend your money on a coral island! Some people have posted about aircraft noise, anything coming in from Europe or ME or India will pass over the island, not directly avbove but very close. So please bear this in mind but we did not find it a distraction. All in all a fantastic place to visit with great water and a great beach!

This is our first time visiting the Maldives. We were looking for a place that was close to the airport(MLE) , so we can reach there by a speed boat. Also, we wanted to make sure the waters around the resort were nice for snorkeling, and after consulting other family members who visited Taj we booked 3 nights there. We booked the “Premium Villa with Pool”, this is a more private room/villa than the lagoon rooms but also drops directly into the Sea water in front.
Once we arrived at the airport(9:30 am) we were greeted by a hotel employee who led us to the speedboat and carried our luggage. 20 minutes later we arrived at the island. We were greeted to the sound of drums played by local Maldivians .
We were also greeted by Adi our butler for the stay, who guided us to a “Lagoon Villa” that we could stay in until our room was ready. This allowed us to rest after a long flight and be fresh for the day ahead.
The premium pool villa is a gorgeous room, that has a view to the open sea. In addition, you can enjoy a the beautiful sunrise early in the morning. It is a view that will cherish forever. The room and toilet were very clean, with all amenities needed available. The area in front of the villa is great for snorkeling during low tide, and you can swim with the current to reach the lagoon area which has some very nice fish to look at!
Outside the room, we enjoyed the 24 degrees restaurant breakfast which had a variety of options. We also had lunch one time at the pool restaurant, which was also delicious! For dinner, we went to the Deep End restaurant for two nights in a row, and let me tell the food was a 10/10. In general the food served at the Taj was always delicious!
The hotel gave us complimentary access to some no motorized water sports, and we did the kayaking and peddle boat which we enjoyed very much. Although I preferred the kayaking personally.
For snorkeling, if you don’t have any gear you will be given free gear to use during your stay from the dive center. A special mention goes to Haitham who explained all the activities we can do, and helped us choose a snorkeling trip to a nearby coral via boat. He also gave us a snorkeling lesson which is good if you have not done it before. This trip was amazing and Haitham was very helpful throughout explaining to us the types of fish we were seeing.
I have to give Adi another mention, he was helpful through our our stay. He mad sure that we were enjoying our experience throughout the whole stay. He also booked us dinner, lunch and offered his service though out the day and night! He made our experience that much better.
If you are concerned about internet access, the WiFi connection was fast and reliable all over the island.
All in all, a great trip that I can’t wait to repeat. 10/10

Our amazing experience began right from the start with Jetren being super kind in helping us with our reservations. And it just got better and better. The general manager, Mr. Samrat Datta is doing a fantastic job of running the resort.
The employees are friendly and super helpful. Our butler, Adam was a superman who made our stay smooth and stressfree. The F&B team headed by Chef Bijoy ensured that my husband and dad could enjoy new sugarfree desserts every day. The food was stellar and we did not have a single bad meal. The waitstaff, especially Ashraf, Mhelen and Misbah, were superlative to say the least.
The rooms are spacious and well maintained and the beach is pristine. This is the third five star property we stayed at with our toddler and the only one to provide a crib, baby towel and steriliser in the room without asking. Extremely thoughtful.
Snorkelling spots are plenty and you can see a variety of fishes right by the shoreline sometimes without even swimming. Nikita, their resident marine biologist gives a great talk at the sting ray feeding sessions and was a wonderful guide at our paid snorkelling session.
The service lasted all the way till the immigration gate till where we were escorted by the transfer team.
It is 100% worth it and I did not want to return.

We had the most divine time in the resort. one has to just soak in the vastness and calmness of the ocean and beauty all around. Pictures can’t do justice to the beauty of the place. We were in deluxe lagoon villa. A beautiful room on the water with a plunge pool and a deck outside for spending hours enjoying the serene waters. Every morning we enjoyed watching sunrise from our deck and just admiring nature. We did parasailing and snorkelling trip. Pushkar at diving centre helped a lot to make us comfortable during snorkelling. We also did snorkelling near our room as the hotel gives you snorkelling kit for the whole stay. The lagoon also has good number of fish and nice reef. There are sharks and Sting Ray feedings every evening. We enjoyed boating using paddle boat and did kayaking also.
Property has some nice photo shoot points like a swing in the middle of lagoon to enjoy sunset , a hammock on beach, a hammock in the sea.
We had travelled to Taj Exotica Maldives to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and we must say that it was the best choice we could have made. Property was full still never got feeling of being crowded. We celebrated our special day as private dinner hosted on Ocean Pavilion on recommendation of Nitin , the Director F&B. I must say it was a very unique experience. Though it is an expensive affair, but worth it to celebrate special day. Dilip, our butler, was a nice polite boy and took good care of us during our stay. The best part of this stay was that no one invaded our privacy. Housekeeping was done when we were out for our meals so never felt an intrusion and rooms were always clean.
The property offers half an hour of photo shoot. Shamil was our photographer, who clicked very nice shots with utmost patience. it was also a different experience.
Because of covid, one Deep End restaurant was closed. Though only 2 restaurants were operational but 24 Degrees restaurant had good variety of options to not miss multiple restaurants.
I must thank Samrat Datta (GM), Nitin (Director F&B), Dilip (our butler ) to make our anniversary special in many ways.

First of all - This is going to be an expensive vacation. Taj is expensive but then so is every good hotel in Maldives.
I found the proximity to airport an advantage rather than some reviews mentioning constant planes flying over as a noise. It really wasnt a problem and the fact that it is a 20 min speedboat away, rather than a 45 min seaplane route, it saves money and it saves time
The overwater villas were exquisite and really comfortable. What we liked was the privacy where someone who goes out in the water and can be in front of your villa but will not be able to see inside because of the glass.
Service and food were exemplary. Food is expensive but then every hotel in the Maldives serves expensive food. The quality and ingredients used by the Taj were really amazing and you can tell that they have not taken any shortcuts in preparation.
We also had drinks and food at the pool bar and that was also really good.
The butler and service crew were really really nice and attentive to the smallest of things.
This hotel is HIGHLY recommended

We visited Taj Exotica just as it opened up after the Covid Lockdown and it gave us a great escape after months of staying indoors.
The resort is beautiful and the staff is warm, courteous and professional. They went the extra mile to make sure we were safe, everything is sanitized - even arranged a PCR test for us at the resort itself to minimize exposure.
The staff was exceptional - the butlering team (Honey, Neville, Arif and the rest of the team) were responsive and accomodating; the F&B team (Bilal and team ) gave us great food throughout our stay; the reception team (Yuki and team) were welcoming and catered to our every need; while the activities team took us on an exceptional snorkelling experience.
The resort itself is beautiful and staying in the water villas is a treat. We ended up wishing we had more days to spend here.

The pedal boats are free.
We did not do any other excursions except the sunset cruise which was awesome as we were lucky and saw almost 40-50 dolphins.
The one experience which I feel is a must is the floating breakfast which costs about $ 125 and is totally worth it.
There are more places to choose from in the Emboodhu Finolhu area.
