Very disappointed with our meal, my wife had a Lasagne and salad but refused the chips. The Lasagne was hugh as was the salad. The Lasagne was recommended by the chef. It was luke warm and very dry, no betbchamin sauce. Had to be reheated but the wife was unable to eat it all. Not lasagne as I know it.... More

When I booked I was warned the chef had been unwell; when we arrived, we were told with many apologies the chef was still unwell but there was a stand-in providing a limited menu. The menu choices were standard pub fare but all six of us enjoyed well presented, carefully cooked food. The lad who greeted us at the bar,... More

I visited the griffin last night for the first time and it was lovely. The barman wasn't very helpful he just looked like he was lost! But the young waitress took over and she was very helpful. She gave us the menu and then told us the specials she even recommend the fish and chips. So I had the fish... More

We were welcomed warmly on 12th April by an enthusiastic host and hostess who provided a delicious lunch. We had not booked, we were fairly wet and muddy, but nothing was too much trouble. We would,be happy to return any time!

My wife and I stayed for one night, after having to leave a truly awful B&B. What a change. Had a super friendly reception and a Magnificat Lamb Shank. The desert, mango based, was better than anything we have ever had, even India. The breakfast was absolutely great. It is a lovely country pub. When we return to Sutton Hoo... More

Popped in here with my son during a cycling trip in Suffolk. I had a pint of Woodfordes Wherry which was delightful and my son had a large hot chocolate. The pub has a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere, the staff are friendly and helpful and the beer is good. What is there to dislike. When in the area again I... More

I visited the lovely village of Yoxford over the Easter weekend. We stayed in the griffin inn which was absolutely wonderful! The pub is 600 years old and full of history, it is beautiful with loads of character due to it's original features such as the beams, doorways and flooring. The room was so cosy, and had great little touches... More

Stopped for lunch today, the food and service were excellent but felt that the menu was not very comprehensive, I suppose it is better to have a restricted menu of good food than a comprehensive one of mediocre food. Would certainly visit again.

My husband and I stayed at the Griffin for 1 night on a getaway escape from London. When we arrived in the village of Yoxford it looked beautiful and The Griffin building is historical and has bags of character. We got a lovely warm welcome from the owners when we arrived and they took us on a tour of the... More

The Griffin pub is Yoxford village's central hub. It's had a lot of bad press over recent years but changed hands a year ago and you need to give it a fresh chance. The new couple who run it are really committed to serving good, home cooked food and interesting beers. Regular curry nights, cooked with input from our Indian... More
