My friends just got married at Mersey River Chalets on Saturday, and I was VERY impressed with the venue. It is a stunning location, and all of the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were great value for the money too! I would highly recommend this location to anyone looking for a beautiful outdoor ceremony with the perfect...

My husband and I and two adult daughters were able to spend only one night rather than the three we had planned, because of disruptions caused by Hurricane Arthur. Even as they dealt with the challenges of getting things back to normal after the storm, our hosts, Tim and Andrea, were warm and helpful. The chalet we rented was very...

We initially booked a chalet here because it was near Kejimkujik National Park; however, the Mersey River Retreat is a beautiful nature sanctuary of its own. My husband and I had our first close up view of hummingbirds in flight from the hummingbird feeder on the deck of our chalet, which contained a fully functional, albeit small, kitchen and two...

My Fiance and I spent 2 nights here in June. After checking in we enjoyed the Boardwalks, and the deck of our cottage with a few drinks. The next day we spent hiking and sightseeing through Kejimikujik national park as this is a great home base for Keji since it is so close! Our second evening back we enjoyed the...

After a good day at Kejimkujik we arrived to a friendly warm reception at Merseyriver Nature Retreat. Quite and beautiful scenery, unspoiled and just what was needed to stay in the "nature mode". The small chalet was spotless clean and well equipped with everything we needed. Canoe rental was FREE and the boardwalk is great for a dusk/dawn walk. The...

My husband and I decided to rent a chalet to enjoy a winter wonderland. Hey, if you can't beat it, join it! What a relaxing time it was. Although the restaurant is not open this time of year, the chalets come with a kitchenette and we made our own meals and enjoyed out meal by a crackling fire. If you...

We stayed at Mersey River Chalets the last couple winters for the weekend and are planning our third trip. The chalets are simple, but very comfortable, peaceful and well-equipped. After a day of cross-country skiing at nearby Keji, we light our chalet's woodstove, dine on delicious BBQ and walk along the riverside boardwalk as the sun sets. Its a perfect...

If you like Keji but sometimes want to get away from tenting, this place is very close and has a similar environment. Staff are great, rooms are nice, and the wildlife and sunsets are worth the drive.

We stayed in a large chalet with our child and two of our friends. We hadn't been there before but were delighted at what we found. The chalets are in the forest, on the river or on the lake and it feels like yours is the only one around. The bedrooms were spacious; the main room was large enough to...

My husband and I were visiting Nova Scotia for the first time and booked just 2 nights in a log cabin. We were both sorry to leave as it is very peaceful and beautiful and wished we could have stayed longer. We took a canoe out and, in mid-September, were alone on the gloriously sunny lake. We stayed in cabin...

“The small chalets are perfect for a family of four, even four adults. The kitchen is well equipped; the nearest store is about 20 minutes away, so you may want to stock up on groceries before you arrive.”
