This lodging was a true finding! My husband and I were visiting Inhotim and decided to spend the night in Brumadinho (before its devastating tragedy). We had a perfect restful night and woke up to one of THE BEST breakfast ever!!! We were pretty content with everything about Pousada Dona Carmita. Staff was extremely helpful and attentive; room was cozy and clean; breakfast was out of this world, and its location was premium. Unfortunately we didn’t have time to join the pool which has a fantastic view of the mountains. I’ve had recommended this lodging to several friends and family, and I’d love to be back and stay longer.
If you are going to visit Inhotim the BEST option is to stay near by. Pousada Dona Carmita is only 10-15 minutes driving to the art/garden complex and it's really nice and cozy. The chalet we stayed was overlooking the lagoon and it was superb. Calm and quiet, despite being near the restaurant. You get for what you pay plus the extra bonus of an excellent cafe. The only thing I think deserves a better adjustment is the room bathroom, which is looking a bit dated and shower could be a bit more powerful. Breakfast was really, really good and tasty, full of the complexities of local recipes.
Really good service! Great and health breakfast! Lovely place and people, who really do the best to make you confortable. Sweet lodge! Me and my family have a really great time there! Really close to Inhotim! I recomend to all my friends! I'm loving brazil!
I had an excellent stay at Dona Carmita’s pousada! I was made to feel very welcome and the owner was quick to help me out with any queries and offer suggestions. My room was small but clean and extremely comfortable with a good shower plus a TV and wifi. The breakfast included was good value and the restaurant offers an excellent range of food which I would certainly recommend for lunch or dinner! And the other great advantage of this accommodation is it’s location! It is very close to Inhotim, the outdoor art museum/park! Inhotim is huge and so I would recommend at least two days to see all of it really making this pousada ideal as a place to rest!
The pousada has about ten cabins which are modern and well equipped. Ours was a bit cramped but was a bit cheaper and was all that was available. Nice breakfast, clean, friendly owner, 10 minutes by car to Inhotim, good air con, fan, fridge, shower. It had everyting I expected and there were no serious complaints. There is a reasonably priced restaurant/churrasqueria in the grounds which was OK. Maybe some cabins would get noise from the music and cars. Ours was very close to the pool and leisure area but we did not suffer noise. There are notices saying that it closes at 6pm but the night porter explained (at midnight when closing it) that this was to allow him to shut down the area if customers behave badly. Overall we were reasonably satisfied but did feel that it was slightly too expensive for what it offered.…
