The receptionists and kitchen staff were amazing and very helpful; there was always someone available to assist us.

At the start of our vacation, we were given one room, but after three days, we were moved to a smaller room with a non-functioning air conditioner, making it difficult to sleep at night.

Additionally, the electricity would intermittently turn off and on during the day, and there was no hot water in the shower in the mornings and evenings.

The food in the kitchen was generally good, with a variety of dishes and desserts served at lunch. However, the breakfast options were limited, with only eggs available, which were fine.

Rooms are small but very clean. Air conditioning was free safe was 3 euros per day. Food was really nice lots of choice every day. Pool area was small but clean and pool was well maintained. The music at the hotel is terrible and by the end of the week had become really grating. Bar was awful the only thing that was OK to drink was the beer. They only offer ouzo, raki and brandy as spirits. Awful cheap wine and the cheapest mixers. You could go to the bar next door which is also part if the hotel but you had to pay and it was expensive. The staff work very hard and are very welcoming.

Come to Hersonissos every year but first time staying here. Nice hotel though bedheadboard could do with updating as bits of faux leather peeling off. Beds comfy staff fantastic with exception of older barman whom I’ve yet to see smile. Food is okay and perfectly acceptable though gets cold quickly so be prompt to meals okay selection and plenty of fresh veggies.
Pool is lovely, bathroom small but functional. Probably would not book again unless headboards re furnished and better selection of hot food which we get when we stay at our usual hotel for the same price.

The experience at this hotel has been below any expectations.
I recommend to avoid this accommodation at any cost.
Our flight was cancelled and we needed to book a hotel last minute. Based on the pictures which were provided by the hotel we expected something which at least would have been decent.
The room was filled with smoke smell as well as mould. There are no smoke detectors in the room which may be why people smoke in the room.
The telephone also did not work which is a legal issue as if you require any emergency support there’s no way of contacting reception.
The toilet was rusty and the sealing trimming was falling down as well as the frame on the mirror.
The mattress had brown stains on it and the sheets where not clean with faeces looking stains on it.
The air conditioning filter was thick with dust as well as the top of the unit being very scummy and dusty. We woke up the first morning sniffling and coughing due to the amount of dust in the room; we have dust allergies which usually become severe without medication, we vacated the room as soon as we woke and didn’t return until late night just to avoid the unhygienic state of the place.
The balcony door does not close securely meaning a forceful push could lead entry into the room. As for the safe, it is really only enough for small items not for a standard sized laptop of which we had to carry around most of our items due to the size restriction on the safe.
The cleaner walked in our room at 9 in the morning despite the “do not disturb” sign being up and not even knocking before coming in.
There is tragic music playing extremely loud from around 9am in the morning which is also an outdated playlist considering there is a mixture of different aged customers staying.
Overall Pela Maria is outdated, no money is invested into upgrading the buildings exterior and especially interior, they say “ you pay for what you get” but no one should have to pay for a facility and avoid it the entire time they are staying.
We do not want a pathetic reply from this hotel justifying their excuse for every point made in this review. Instead please take into consideration the feedback you’re receiving especially from these honest rating to better your facility.

We arrived at the Pela Maria Hotel around 2 a.m. local time. It's a small, three-star, adults-only hotel. The friendly staff at the reception quickly gave us the keys to room 206. However, we were surprised to find the room quite small, about 14 square meters. The bathroom was particularly problematic—only one person could fit inside, and the door opened inward, hitting the toilet. This made it difficult, especially for men, to use the bathroom and shower comfortably.

After two days, we requested a room change. The staff, without any issues, provided us with a new room of similar size but with a better bathroom layout and a larger balcony. The room was cleaned daily, with fresh towels provided regularly. The air conditioning, though a bit old, worked well, but it’s unclear if it is regularly serviced or disinfected.

The room was locked with a standard key, but the door was very thin, allowing all hallway noises to be heard inside.

Regarding the food, the hotel’s menu was repetitive, and after a few days, we lost interest in eating there. A downside was the lack of information about the dishes, which could be risky for those with allergies.

The pool bar opens at 10:00 a.m., offering drinks, beer, and soft drinks. The pool itself is small but sufficient for the number of rooms. Finding an available sunbed wasn’t too difficult, although they were limited. The pool area is mostly shaded, so sunbathing is possible only in the early morning hours. The pool’s ladder could use some repairs as it wobbles when used. The music played by the pool is varied and at a low volume, allowing for a relaxed atmosphere.

WiFi quality was poor, often weak or non-existent, typical of a three-star hotel. The network wasn’t password-protected, raising concerns about data security, so using personal LTE is recommended.

A bus stop near the hotel offers easy access to Heraklion for 3.5 euros per person, with a 45-minute journey time. The hotel’s surroundings are filled with restaurants, bars, and shops, making it ideal for those who enjoy nightlife. However, it’s advisable to book a room facing the pool for a quieter stay, as rooms facing the street can be noisy at night.

Additionally, there is a car rental service about 50 meters from the hotel, with a four-day rental costing around 200 euros.

We came back from vacation just few days ago and we are happy to share our experience with everyone.
First of all our family would like to say a huge thanks to the hotel manager - great man, really professional, he knows his job and does it perfect, even more than perfect. The hotel usually starts from the staff - from people who meet you, who serve you, who make for you a check in, clean your room or just smile to you, passing above, etc. So staff here is just amazing, all of them. And of course the hotel manager. Thank you, guys for you care, attention and service 🙏
Our room was just lovely! We were staying in the room number 507, new one with amazing sea view 😍 pictures will be added)) nice balcony where you can watch beautiful sunsets and sunrises, comfortable bed, tv, AC, big closet, good cleaning! The bathroom is also good, just small minus - the shower is a little bit small, but it’s not a big deal and not a problem. So the room was really great, thank you so much for that!
Food. We booked the all inclusive, so we were able to eat 3 times per day and to use the bar also. Water is available during the meals time and on the bar always, this is a big plus. The food is sooo delicious 🤤 big thanks to your chiefs, cause it’s really so tasty and we have already missed it much!
For breakfast: sausage (sliced), several types, bacon, fried sausages, eggs, porridge, vegetables, much fruits, tasty desserts…plenty of choice to be honest)) you will never be hungry, but the most important - everything is really delicious. Lunch and dinner are really perfect. Big choice of everything with a great taste sure. We even had mussels, octopuses, fish, meat, tasty meat from grill…about food can talk long time 😂 just believe me, you should try)) everything is delicious, great choice of everything and for everyone. Much fruits: watermelon, melon, peaches, apple and etc. coffee machines also. The waiters in the restaurant work like one team, you will never see dirty plates on the table, everything was cleaned so fast and professional. The hotel manger by himself always makes rounds around the hotel and in the restaurant, always ready to help and to listen 👏
The hotel is not big, but so nice and cosy. There is one swimming pool and beach in front of the hotel. The location is just perfect - almost in the centre of the city, so easy to get everywhere, a lot of places around, markets and etc. There is inly 30 minutes from the hotel to the airport.
To sum up we had a great stay here and we will definitely try to come back!
One more time big thanks to the hotel manger and to all staff, you do a great job!
This hotel is a great value for money, highly recommend!

A hotel like this for this price is a dream! Great atmosphere, location in the heart of Hersonissos. The rooms are clean, air conditioning makes the time pleasant on hot days, cleaning is done every day (except Sunday), the only thing that may bother someone is a small shower with a curtain, but overall it is so minor that it is almost irrelevant. But what is most appreciated in this hotel is the service - very nice people, helpful at every step, smiling and friendly. Special greetings to the manager Mr. John, to Nancy, Angela, Antonio and Nick! ❤️ Greetings from Poland 🇵🇱

False advertisement, the pictures are nothing like what they have advertized. Theres no shower curtain,so the room gets drenced, had to ask nu.erous time for bath towels and fresh bed sheets(apparantly it only gets cleaned every 4 day) there is only 1 key to the bedroom, so we have been told me and my friend have to stay together. Me and my friend managed to get seperated last night and my insulin was in my fridge in the bedroom, he refused to let me in and said there is no other key! I even translated what i needed to do and he shrugged his shoulders! The bar staff are lovely but reception staff are disgraceful

We are still at the hotel met some great people but that's as good as it gets the rooms are so small nowhere to put suitcases so you just fall over each other trying to move around the shower is too short if your 6ft the balcony is so tiny you cant relax on it the staff work very hard the rooms are clean the food is not good breakfast is ok lunch is ok but evening food is terrible we're not fussy eaters but we can't eat the food here the bar closes at 10pm there are no cocktails at all then is cheap brandy ouzo wine and beer thats the choices we've had no lemonade for 3 days icecubes are rationed there is no snack bar at all so 230 until evening theres nothing I went for some icecream at 3 and was refused. There's a sister hotel to this we believe but not been told about it this hotel for us as been somewhere to sleep it's not good at all prob the worst all inclusive we've ever been to .it's near the strip and right in the centre of town so lots of bars and restaurants near by the beach near this hotel is tiny so yiu can never get on nowhere to put your towel down for a swim its wall to wall sunbeds si close your touching others so we've walked 800 metres to somewhere better the beaches are rocky access to the sea so bring water shoes . The hotel is quiet no entertainment or aqua aerobics etc which was good for us and no loud music.could be so much better we won't come back to this hotel but will come back to hersonissis

This hotel offers very good service for the price. There is all inclusive options that are very convenient and efficient. Dinner is plentiful with lots of options, there is also lunch and breakfast served. The staff are very friendly and all in all this hotel is excellent value for money. It is very centrally located with lots of shops around the corner and across the street so you won’t be in need of anything that is a long distance away. Hotel manager is very attentive to the needs of the guests. I recommend this place if you want something convenient and comfortable that is centrally located.

Dear Mr./Ms. Although, our hotel is very close to the beach, it is not directly by it, therefore we do not have a bar by the beach. On the other hand we have a beautiful bar by the pool and DownTown Bar which is one of the most famous bars in Hersonissos! If you would like to book a beach hotel, our sister hotel, Elmi Suites Beach Hotel has Cyrrus Beach Bar and Porto Greco Beach Bar and 3 beautiful beaches in front of it! Dear Mr Stephen, We are sorry for our late reply. During your stay, have you tried to contact the hotel's manager and express them your questions? He would be very happy to assist you and clarify any question you might had. The all-inclusive program does not mention that in the list of drinks neither cocktails nor branded drinks were included. Our room types included only standard and pool view rooms. Have yo booked a pool view room and not gotten one? Have you asked the reception why have you been allocated to a different room type than the one you booked? We could easily help you if you had come into contact.
