With out a doubt one of the best holidays we have ever had in Skiathos. We have visited the island around 20 times. We have always wanted to stay at Skiathos Princess and have resisted booking so that we could stay for our 20th wedding anniversary. All I can say is that it was worth the wait. Communication was excellent with the hotel who were able to upgrade our room to an amazing suite.(Thank you Myrsina). We had fresh fruit & wine on arrival in out suite. I think it was the bridal suite. All the staff were so professional and helpful and very good customer service throughout. The breakfast was extremley well organised and a great selection. This included cooking stations serving fresh pancakes and omelettes. The latte was one of the best we have ever had. The location. pool, beach and restaurant are all faultless. My only regreat is that my husband and I did not get married here because if we was to do it agian -The Princess would most certainly be my choice. Honestly it really is perfect.…
Lovely hotel directly on Agia Paraskevi beach. We booked this two days before travelling as Skiathos appeared in a UK CoVid19 "travel corridor". The hotel staff did an amazing job. Social distancing was in place, and sanitising facilities were evident in all public areas. Everyone we encountered was charming and extremely helpful. We felt very safe. Breakfast buffet was all under glass, and served by staff wearing masks and gloves. Huge variety of food to choose from and all fresh and tasty. Guests were also very respectful and conscious of safety requirements. Our room (177) was extremely spacious, scrupulously clean and the bed was very comfortable. We had a small private pool on our patio, as we weren't sure whether communal pools would be open during the current health situation. *Our only issue was that the shower was over a very deep but narrow bath with folding glass screens, I have mobility issues at the moment, and it was quite difficult manoeuvring in and out. NB: WiFi is extremely poor away from the main reception area, so switch it off and relax!…
Travelled mid Sept for 2 weeks. Warm welcome on arrival and mostly very friendly staff apart from a couple of breakfast staff who weren't so friendly. George at the pool bar was extremely friendly and welcomed you with the most wonderful smile. Rooms were spacious with plenty of wardrobe space, bathrooms were good too. The only negative comment is that the cooked breakfast was at best warm so opted for the omelette which was cooked to order. Coffee was also tepid and had to wait a while for that to be re-plenished. Think the breakfast needs improving considering the star rating for the hotel. Sunbeds however, were the best I have every used.
We booked this hotel as our original booking was with another hotel that we have stayed at previously but they didn’t open this year due to Covid. Our original hotel was a 3 star but we thought we would treat ourselves and upgrade to a 5 star. Pros, good location on the beach, sea view. Cons, extremely uncomfortable beds and pillows (common complaint from other guests we spoke to) no tea and coffee facilities in the room until asked for (we were told due to covid, but not sure why)? and even then limited choice when it arrived. Staff generally friendly helpful, apart from young waiters and waitresses at the beach bar, which was a shame as the setting was lovely. Overpriced food and drink and the beach bar, 70 euros for 1 salad, 1 chicken souvlaki, 1 feta cheese and jam and 4 beers! Limited choice and breakfast, nothing to do with covid restrictions. This hotel was 2.5 times the price of the first one we booked and no where near the same standard. As the other hotel is just across the road we will be returning to that one.…
Ended up here as a result of a Covid cancelled trip to Crete and all in all found it to be a very comfortable property apart from the beds which were very hard. A mention to the management saw the provision of a comfort layer (stained on one side- discovered later) that much improved the form of sleep quality. The room -a twin deluxe on the 3rd level had a beautiful view over the grounds and out to sea, . The bathroom was very spacious but the siting of the shower which for some strange reason was on the wall facing out into the room .Plenty of complementary toiletries and fresh towels daily. Free sunbeds at the beach and pool with fresh towels always available with nearby snackbars. All meals buffet style with staff serving,. a varied selection but not as varied as I would have liked and quite often you would find near empty food trays as in one case when I went for vegetables to see only 4 Brussels sprouts on offer. This was not an isolated incident. The main two complaints I have about this hotel concern the air conditioning which although working very well to keep the room cool did not appear to have a thermostat so was always running, not great if you are alight sleeper. And number 2 complaint and this was raised with management was the near total lack of wifi reception in any other area of the hotel except the main lobby. The response was "we have a problem with it", an apparently long ongoing problem and not something you would expect from a high class hotel. …
