Hotel Ostria should be on everyone’s list if considering a holiday in Skíathos, or Greece! Walking distance to shops and Paraskevi beach this hotel provides a quiet sanctuary with spotlessly clean rooms and a lovely pool and bar area to enjoy a relaxing “sundowner” at the end of the day. Run by a local family you could not be made more welcome or looked after by a nicer team. Thanks Anna, Litsa and Makis. Be safe, see you next year.

A return visit for us to these wonderful apartments. As always the standards of cleanliness were extremely high, the pool area and grounds kept beautifully and Anna and her family or staff always ready to help. Anna made sure we were aware of the local Covid related restrictions (much like UK - face masks in shops and when using buses or taxis). Some restaurants were not open but there are several that are so plenty of choice without leaving Agia Paraskevi if you prefer to stay "local". Our apartment had a Kingsize bed with a nice, firm mattress, shower room & kitchen and an extended area with a daybed for a child if required . The patio area looks over the lovely gardens and breakfast is served in the bar/restaurant area by the pool. Given the current restrictions, the normal self-service breakfast was not possible but a slightly reduced range of options was more than adequate and I congratulate our lovely hosts on arranging this. We look forward to returning next year!

We had another fantastic stay at Ostria , we didn't arrive until very late but we were met at the airport by Sirios ( please excuse the spelling if it is wrong ) the barman/ waiter / all round fab guy with a friendly greeting , he is also a very good driver & we felt very safe with him . When we arrived at the Ostria we were greeted by Natasha who worked there last year with another big smile , Natasha is very friendly & helpful in any way she can . We had one of the more basic rooms downstairs which was really comfortable with a lovely terrace , it was kept spotlessly clean by by Lola . Next morning we were greeted by all the family who are always pleased to welcome us , breakfast was good & plentiful . The Ostria is in a fantastic location with a brilliant beach just over the road & plenty of good restaurants & 3 supermarkets within a few minutes walk . The Ostria also do food in the daytime such as sandwiches, omelettes , & the best burgers & a good pint in a chilled glass. The bus stop to town & other beaches is also just across the road although you don't get any road noise at the hotel , the buses are cheap & frequent .We spent a lot of time by the pool which again is spotlessly clean and was never too busy while we were there . The grounds are beautiful thanks to Mamma & Ben.
All things being well we will be able to return to Skiathos next year & if we do then it will definately be to the Ostria

The welcome was friendly and we were directed to a small apartment with a bedroom with a double bed, a shower room and a living/kitchen area with 2 single beds. There was access to a private terrace. The room was spotlessly clean and the kitchen well appointed. The shower worked well and this part of the hotel was great. The small swimming pool was nice and clean and when asked pool towels were supplied. We enjoyed some nice cold drinks poolside and it was a restful spot.

The parts that we did not enjoy: 1) the beds are like rock and the a/c unit was in the living room and didn't quite reach into the bedroom. The bedroom window insect netting had large holes in it and therefore didn't work very well. Also there is blackout for only one window, but there is a shutter on the other window but that means further lack of ventilation.
2) The breakfast was a buffet style with someone serving your choices onto a plate, other than the fresh fruit it was quite horrible, the coffee was filter style and you could refill your cup, a small pot on the table would have been nicer. Overall breakfast was disappointing due to the lack of food choices and the low quality of the food.

A beach was a short walk away, it was the least attractive that we have seen while staying in the Sporades, Skopelos and Alonnisos have wonderful beaches as does Skiathos but this one is more functional than pretty. However it is still a beach and has sand and sea.

After not being able to go to Skiathos for 2 years because of restrictions we were a little bit worried that things might have changed for the worse , we need not have worried as it was as great as ever . Unfortunately , one of our favourite restraunts , Kipos has closed but there are plenty of other great ones really close to the Ostria to choose from. We were made very welcome by all the family & the staff as always & although we didn't arrive until very late at night we were welcomed by Natasha & shown to our room , room one which has been upgraded & now has a lovely bathroom/ wet room , it has a big balcony with lovely views on 3 sides & table & chairs & a small washing line which all the rooms have I think & is very handy . The next morning at breakfast we were greeted by all the family & old & new staff & felt instantly relaxed ,which was great after the last couple of years that we have all had . As has been said before the Ostria is idealy situated very close to the beach , 3 supermarkets & various tavernas & the bus stop into town or various other beaches , the bus is still the same price as it has been for about the last 8 to 10 years 1 euro 60 to town & I think the same to Koukanaries .The hotel is always spotlessley clean with beautifully kept grounds , well don Ben ! Breakfast is good & varied , we also had a couple of Ostria special pizzas , made on the premises by Mikey , the owner which were really tasty & made to order just how we wanted. All being well & definitely if we go abroad anywhere next year it will be to Ostria

Had a few days in Ostria to start our Greek holiday and I have to say it’s as good as ever. The rooms are great and thoroughly cleaned every day. Breakfast is varied and plentiful and the staff can’t do enough to help especially Anna who is very very friendly and helpful. Nearly everyone who comes makes a return visit and the hotel gets booked up very quickly which says it all really. We love it here.

We stayed here last year for 10 days and are returning again this year because we enjoyed it so much. Great location with lots of fabulous bars and restaurants within walking distance. Also close to the beach. We were lucky enough to have a car but the bus service is excellent and will take you from one end of the Island to the other. Our apartment was very clean and roomy and the grounds are just beautiful. Anna and her family are so lovely and friendly, nothing was too much trouble.

This was my 4th time back at Ostria and I cannot wait to book another holiday here.

Anna is the perfect host, she always has the best restaurant and trip recommendations and nothing is ever too much trouble. Anna and her family always makes us feel so welcome, they’re so lovely.

The hotel is spotlessly clean and set in beautiful gardens. It’s set back off the road so is extremely peaceful but yet located just across the road from the beach. There are plenty of local tavernas to choose from within the village and a couple of supermarkets just a couple of minutes walk away.

Everyone that stops at Ostria always return. You’ll be guaranteed an amazing stay and holiday!

We've just had a week at Ostria and wish we'd stayed longer. Wonderful family run hotel and Anna and her staff are so friendly and welcoming. Our room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable, equipped with a small kitchenette and a fridge. It was cleaned every day.
It's such a great location...There is a lovely beach across the road and plenty of very nice tavernas in easy walking distance, all of which do amazing food.
We hired a car and the drive from the airport to the hotel was quick and simple. Skiathos Town is only about 10 mins drive from Ostria and there is also a bus that goes from one end of the island to the other. The bus is popular and can get very busy.
There are lots of guests who return to Ostria year after year and we can certainly see why. We enjoyed chatting to some of the regulars around the pool and they gave us plenty of tips about restaurants etc.
The hotel, pool and grounds are kept immaculate. It's small, quiet and friendly which was perfect for us. We never visit the same place twice as there is so much of the world that we want to see but can honestly say that we would go back to Ostria in a heartbeat.

We had a wonderful holiday at the Hotel Ostria in June. Anna and all the staff are so friendly and helpful and everything is spotlessly clean. There was a good choice for breakfast, including Greek yogurt and pastries, and we had lovely Greek salads and baked feta from the hotel bar for lunch. There are also several lovely tavernas nearby serving traditional Greek food. The bus stop is close to the hotel and convenient for visiting nearby resorts and Skiathos Town. We look forward to returning to the Hotel Ostria in the future.

The deluxe rooms are named mainly because of the shower areas and kitchenettes which are very modern and the shower areas in particular either have large walk in shower or separate enclosed cubicle the extra bed space is made up of pull out beds from seating areas. Depending on age of family but the 'normal ' rooms were big enough for family of 4 as quite a few of them were there and single beds were in rooms.
