I fell on this extraordinary bed and breakfast quite by accident, as I was selling my wares at a Christmas charity fair at Duncombe Park, nearby. I arrived, on my own, after the first evening of sales, at about 9.45, to be met by the totally welcoming Anna, who had turned on lamps in my room, put a hottie in...

Upon arrival shown to rooms that were comfortable and warm on arrival. Anna is the perfect host and very knowledgeable with places to visit..she had ticket savings for Castle Howard which we paid £10 for - a saving of £7 per ticket - well worth a visit if you get chance to go as the Christmas displays are exceptional... Plenty...

We visited the area to dine at a local restaurant for my husband's birthday. On arrival, we were greeted by the most lovely B & B owner, Anna, who instantly made us feel so welcome. The farm itself was quaint and beautiful and the room was probably the most cosy and welcoming we've ever stopped in. Some lovely touches were...

Beautiful location, excellent accommodation. Private and luxurious. House has character and is beautifully decorated with the right balance of old and new. Very well equipped with Sky and WiFi keeping the teenagers happy. We all enjoyed the hot tub, it seemed surreal sat in it on an October night listening to Tawny Owls call. Our two dogs loved it aswell,...

Great warm welcome by Anna complete with wine and homemade cake. Slept like a King in the glorious four poster bed. The room was exquisitely fitted out and decorated. Lovely quiet rural location. If only I hadn't ate so much at the White Swan, Ampleforth, in the evening I may have had more of a chance of completing the breakfast...

We stayed at Carr House Farm B&B early this September. We'd stayed a few years ago and loved it so much that we decided to come back despite our rule of never staying somewhere twice! Anna's warmth is reflected through the amazing attention to detail in each room. The snacks that greet you on arrival and the amazing four poster...

Our first stay here and we were given a nice friendly welcome from Anna. Our room was cosy and situated at the end of the farmhouse and there was a seating area outside which we were able to use. Our friendly host was most considerate in giving us homemade wine and nibbles on our arrival. Plenty to eat at breakfast...

Restful, rich natural beauty, friendly and generous hosts. The area boasts ancient footpaths through oak and sycamore forests, great rural views, fresh spring water, rich bird population, Benedictine monks singing at complines down the road at Ampleforth Abbey and peace and comfort. I shall treasure memories of the area forever.
