We stayed for dinner, bed and breakfast and every aspect of our stay was perfect. The room was very clean, quirky and comfortable. The staff were friendly and efficient whilst maintaining a relaxed atmosphere. The food ingredients were of top quality and perfectly cooked. All in all,our stay was very good all around and the attention to detail that is... More

The rooms are luxurious. Food is always excellent with a menu giving a fair choice. Wines tend to be on the higher side but always quality. This might not be the cheapest place to stay but lovely for a short break, but watch the bill as there always seem to be some error

Our room was a Junior Suite which wasn't really a suite (the separate room was actually the downstairs hallway). It was very comfortable but the maid service was a bit inconsistent - not everything got put out each night of our three, eg toiletries, tea & coffee. The people are very friendly and our stay was enjoyable but to be... More

Attracted by the reviews in the regional press, TripAdvisor, their website and the “sample” menus we drove for just over an hour to have lunch. Plenty of parking, charming dining rooms heated with wood burning stoves in early Autumn, it seemed to be a good choice. The staff that we met are professional and friendly. The presentation of the food... More

Stopped here last Monday for lunch en route to a week away. We had a fabulous lunch and service was great. I had the pea and mint ravioli which was amazing. It just melted in my mouth. I recommend the raspberry creme brulee for dessert. Yum. Thanks for a lovely meal. We will be back. Perhaps to stay with you... More

Great location, fantastic food (and drink), not cheap but not a rip off. Great room at rear of pub, car parking outside your own front door. Very friendly yet very competent staff. The pub itself is still treated as a local by residents of Crayke, and is very comfortable and warm (wood burning stoves all over the place). Heartily recommended.

Just had a four night stay at the Durham Ox for a wedding. It has everything, great rooms, wonderful comfy beds, fabulous views and walking in the surrounding area - not forgetting the top class fayre for every meal. What a find - but then it is in Yorkshire!

We had two excellent evening meals here with a group of 10 friends. The food was amazing, the staff helpful and friendly. There is plenty of parking and we would love to come back and stay here. Ian their chef came and catered for 18 of us at the house we were staying at, the food was amazing. Thanks
