I had a very comfortable, clean stay at the Tearooms and greatly enjoyed the friendly atmosphere there. I am very grateful to Marcia for such a relaxing break and would happily visit again. It was very convenient for me due to the close vicinity of public transport and the gardens being so close by.

Always planned on visiting this tea shop in Montacute. It was very quite and good choice of cakes and scones.Very pleasant seating area and nice crockery.Quick service and very interesting TV museum, sure the entrance is a little over priced but we had fun thinking back to all the programs on display . Will deferentially visit the tea room again.

We came to . this place on the off chance they had rooms. They changed some beds so 3 of us could sleep.in the same room. comfy beds and clean but very hard, stiff, rough towels. They have a toy museum on site and we still had to pay full price to see it which i was surprised about. i... More

On arrival at Montacute House on a sunny bank holiday Monday, we were told by the parking attendant when we mentioned the cafe: "good luck with that, it's a mad house". So we decided to try the tea rooms just a short walk away. We were surprised by the set up, a comfortable room behind a shop (shop also serves... More

What a brilliant little coffee shop. You can sit in the light and airy conservatory or nicely laid out tearoom or in good weather the garden. Lovely friendly service. Reasonably priced and delicious looking cakes which I intend to try on my next visit.

stayed here for three nights in July 2014, what a stay as well, what a welcome, the breakfasts were bang on, local ingredients fresh cooked, served with a smile , the tea rooms also did great food during the day, and the attached museum was simply spectacular and revived loads of childhood memories, this is a must is you are... The Montacute Country Tea Room, and Toy Museum attached, is obviously a unique location which could add to its quirky charm. The accomodation booked - selected using previous reviews and its three star rating - was clean, the breakfast adequately comprehensive and well cooked, the bed comfortable and, though the room was very very small (one had to move furniture in... There were some good memories at the TV toy museum but at £6.99 it is ridiculously over-priced. It consists of some dusty looking books, models and board games behind plastic sheeting, housed in a long hut. I realise this is the collection of an enthusiast but then it should be priced accordingly. Pop in if it is an interest and... More

What a gem to find, so interesting with all the film and TV memorabilia (that makes you feel your age when you recognise all the ancient stuff!). My husband and I and our special needs adult son had the family room for a one night stay and were made to feel so welcome and nothing was too much trouble, even... More
