My Fiancé and I visited the Walnut Tree for a meal whilst staying in West Camel this past week. We visited twice and both times ordered the fillet steak which was delicious! The staff were friendly and accommodating. The food was fantastic. The Walnut Tree is definitely worth a visit if in the area. We will most certainly be back...

We stayed one night - the only ones. Welcome and warm, good decor and comfortable seating including places where you could actually see to read. The room was newly decorated and comfortable and included WiFi . Bath and shower and fluffy towels provided and nice toiletries. The bed could have been 6" wider. Minor niggle was that we could not...

We were travelling from Cornwall to Kent and wanted a country pub for Sunday roast but off the main road. We found The Walnut Tree after about a mile or so. It was cosy and warm, and the new owner was very welcoming. They had refurbished it to a high standard and it was exceptionally clean ( especially noticed the...

I stayed here for 2 nights whilst away for work. On the 1st night I arrived about 8.30 and they had kept the kitchen open for me although they were quiet. In a spur of the moment decision on a Monday evening my husband, his best friend and I decided to go for dinner. His friend said he'd heard The Walnut Tree was under new management, so we set off! The pub was empty so we were weary but we got a great reception from Landlord Adrian, and we were talking...

Very friendly welcome - we were shown our rooms and were asked if we needed help with our bags. The rooms were nicely decorated and clean with a large bathroom. Bed had lovely bedding but would have benefited from a mattress topper. Dinner was excellent with both a` la carte and bar menu on offer. We were looked after throughout...

The Walnut Tree is a real hidden gem. Only minutes away from the A303, but tucked away in pretty Somerset village complete with walnut trees ! We were attending a family wedding in nearby Sparkford, so booked in for Friday & Saturday B&B. On arrival we were met by the lovely lady who, with her husband, owns the hotel and...

We broke our journey home from remote north Devon at this rather good extended pub/restaurant. The rooms are very well appointed and comfortable, with well thought out facilities. Breakfast was good, and dinner the night before was delicious: a large fillet of wild sea bass crowning a fine mixture of other sea food.
