In a spur of the moment decision on a Monday evening my husband, his best friend and I decided to go for dinner. His friend said he'd heard The Walnut Tree was under new management, so we set off! The pub was empty so we were weary but we got a great reception from Landlord Adrian, and we were talking... More

Very friendly welcome - we were shown our rooms and were asked if we needed help with our bags. The rooms were nicely decorated and clean with a large bathroom. Bed had lovely bedding but would have benefited from a mattress topper. Dinner was excellent with both a` la carte and bar menu on offer. We were looked after throughout... More

The Walnut Tree is a real hidden gem. Only minutes away from the A303, but tucked away in pretty Somerset village complete with walnut trees ! We were attending a family wedding in nearby Sparkford, so booked in for Friday & Saturday B&B. On arrival we were met by the lovely lady who, with her husband, owns the hotel and... More

We broke our journey home from remote north Devon at this rather good extended pub/restaurant. The rooms are very well appointed and comfortable, with well thought out facilities. Breakfast was good, and dinner the night before was delicious: a large fillet of wild sea bass crowning a fine mixture of other sea food.

We stopped at the Walnut Tree as it was a good one night location for a stop over on the way to Cornwall. It is east to find just being a short distance from the A303. We arrived around 4pm and met another couple waiting to book in. You have to ring a bell in the reception area to gain... More

we picked this hotel as it was near to the Fleet Air Arm Museum at Yeovilton and we had a lovely stay there. Great room, four poster bed was a nice surprise, good value for money, good food in the evening and great breakfast.

Very comfortable hotel with character. Not many rooms (good!). Each room has character, very clean and comfortable. Lovely couple that own it. Prices are very reasonable and pub restaurant is excellent (in both quality and value). Highly recommend the home made ice cream! Highly recommend.
