This looks a very attractive pub situated in a picturesque and quiet Dorset village. We stayed the night but were disappointed with the bedroom which was very small and old fashioned with a tiny window. The en suite shower room was clean and modern however. Breakfast the next day was uninspiring with the cooked items greasy. We also had a pizza for dinner in the bar restaurant which was fine. It looked like in normal times there would be live entertainment outside so maybe they were suffering from the Covid restrictions. There is a lack of accommodation in the area so choices are limited. East Coker is well worth a look around as there are some historic buildings.

The pub looks pretty and the head waiter was very polite and engaging however, the landlord was rude, bad tempered and one has to ask the question of why he is in the hospitality industry in the first place?! We have eaten here twice in the past 2 years however on our last visit we were abused in the carpark and called names by the landlord! So with that attitude from the start, we walked away and refused to be drawn into a bullies drama. There are other much better pubs in Somerset who treat their clients with respect and care, needless to say we won't be returning anytime soon.... Or ever!

Stayed in September 2020, lovely spacious rooms, clean, comfortable and relaxing. Wonderful breakfasts made to order and a fine range of evening meals. Excellent Covid arrangements kept everyone safely distanced but the service and quality of the food was superb. Highly recommended as the professionalism was more like a 5 stat hotel than a country Inn but none of the charm of an Inn was lost, just lovely place to stay or eat.

Really enjoyed our one night stay hear. Easy enough to find and started with a phone call to check if we wanted to book to eat in the evening. We wanted to decide later so now even though fully booked managed to fit us on in the other area for pizzas and chips. Perfect. Evening staff were all friendly and helpful. Overnight was great and lovely rooms and beds. Breakfast was great loved the style of food ind the middle of the table to share. Great visit will come again.

had a lovely lunch sitting in pleasant garden with plenty of space, nice big umbrella. Very friendly helpful staff. Really impressed with simplicity of menu pricing, very comprehensive choice, and generous portions, particularly the ice creams! Wonderful pub in quiet attractive village.
