I would not recommend this place. Our stay here was a laughable one. We reserved a room for 3 people on Easter, just for one day . I was surprised there was vacancy on one of the busiest days of the year, but now I know why. Upon our arrival at 2pm, our cabin was not ready and we were...

This lodge is in a great location if you are in the area for hiking or birding. The owner and staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive. We stayed in a casita which had an efficiency style kitchen which included a microwave, hot plate, toaster, coffee maker and apartment sized refrigerator. The TV is very small and sometimes the reception iffy…very...

The lodge was very nice. We stayed in #14. It had a double and a twin bed. It is pretty rustic, but that is part of the experience. The small kitchen was sufficient to allow me to put together sandwiches, chips and beans which we ate on picnic tables that overlooked the creek. My only minor complaint would be that...

My friend and I stayed in cabin 10. We had a beautiful view of the creek from a large picture window that ran through the kitchen to the bedroom. The kitchen had a table and chairs, microwave, fridge, hot plate, cutlery, plates, glasses etc and a grill on the outdoor patio. The deck had a couple of picnic tables to...

Santa Rita Lodge has quaint character - not a typical motel. One goes there for the quiet and splendid views of nature and birds. Best night's sleep of the trip! We were in room #16 with a wonderful view into the woods. A small kitchen is provided. You have to bring your own food.

I took a trip to Madera Canyon to get a break away from winter in Chicago in late February. It was 60F in CHicago and there was a winter storm warning for driving in the canyon posted 2 days before I arrived. Hilarious. Created some pretty views of Old Baldy! I was a guest for 3 nights, 3 cold nights....

My friend and I stayed in cabin number 1. There is a kitchen, kitchen table and chairs, front and back decks, king bed, windows all around. We could see the deer and later the wild turkeys grazing all around. No internet connection. There is a plentiful supply of DVDs for use (free) up at the little office/store there on property....

We were pleasantly surprised with the cabins at Santa Rita. We had cabin #1 right next to the feeding station. After checking in , the cabin was opened up and the heat put on before we got to it. It was roomy and had everything you needed. The bed was okay, not exactly your plush bedding, but certainly adequate. The...

Very nice little cabins, clean, furnished with everything you need, in the middle of the woods with the river down at the back window. The mini kitchen has everything (except an oven), even a toaster! Mini front porch, very pleasant and quiet.

Stayed one night in a casita. Since there are no restaurants at the lodge the casita is equipped with everything you need to cook your own meals. The birds were very abundant at the bird feeding area which is close to the casitas and cabins. The gift shop has many great souvenirs.
