We spent two lovely nights at Blue Zebra on Nankoma Island over the Easter holiday. The speed boat ride from Senga Bay was such a fun way to start off and it only took about 15 minutes to cross. We stayed in the Kingfisher chalet which was quite roomy, private and comfortable with a large deck extending over the lake. With the high water levels it made for a beautiful site. The chalet faced west so the afternoon sun could be intense but we got to see outstanding sunset views accompanied by the breeze of the fan. We also enjoyed the warm showers and had no electricity issues. We did the walking trails around the island and relaxed by the swimming pools (yes there’s 2- the large infinity and small splash) and lake to cool off. Meals, while not the most tasty, had multiple options which was appreciated, flexible hours and were so fulfilling. There’s definitely no shortage of views and scenic sites here and we really enjoyed our time! The staff were attentive, organized and so professional. It’s definitely worth a visit as a new way to experience Lake Malawi.

To begin with the destination was isolated and a marvellous "get-a-way" to refresh oneself. Secondly, the ambiance and general vibe of the place was very welcoming and accommodating. The customer service was excellent. Thirdly, the meals were delicious. Due to weather conditions we were unable to enjoy other water activities but nevertheless we enjoyed our stay and definitely we recommend it to others. See you again soon 😊

Myself and my boyfriend had the most magical 4 nights away at Blue Zebra in October 2020. We stayed in the Kingfisher chalet for 4 nights and it was secluded, with amazing views over the Lake, super comfy beds and a great shower. During the days we spent time swimming in the beautiful infinity pool, drinking cocktails and using the hotel's kayaks to explore the island. Food was really excellent especially the fish tacos! On the final day we did the nature trail around the island early about 8am, to avoid the hot sun, and then ended the trip with a relaxing massage. Can't wait to return! Thanks to the team, especially Jen, for looking after us so well.

From the time we got to the island, to the time we stepped into our rooms everything was perfect. It was truly a beautiful experience and the staff at blue zebra stived to give us just that. Their sunset cruise is just a breath taking experience although my kids tried to ruin by their constant bickering but nothing was ruining this experience for me. lol
