Detailed Reviews
This was our hotel base for our 4-night stay while on Isabela. Our room “Mango” was on the first floor (note: there are no lifts in the property) to the rear of the hotel and had a good sized balcony with seating and a hammock and excellent views of the beach and ocean. Our room had a King-sized bed, plenty of space for clothes, there was aircon and a plug in Mosquito unit which we were advised to use. There was no safe although valuables could be left in the safe in reception. There was also no tea/coffee but filtered water was provided each day. The shower was good with a basic level of toiletries provided, there was also a hairdryer. The downside to the room is it is directly below the restaurant and it was noisy from furniture being dragged around from early in the morning and during the evening meals. The hotel itself is well situated being less than a ten minute walk in one direction to the port and in the other to the town. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, even when we had to leave at 5am in the morning a friendly night porter provided a coffee to wake us up.

A lovely, sea facing hotel. Wish I had spent more than a night at this place. Very relaxing setting. We got a three person duplex with a hammock and lovely balcony facing the sea. The only complaint I had was the steps leading up to the master bedroom was steep. I worried that I would trip especially if I had to come down in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. We had dinner at the restaurant and it was excellent. I would highly recommend this hotel. Those with mobility issues should check where their room is located and also whether there is an elevator to the breakfast area (on the 3rd floor).

Dear guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are glad to know that you enjoyed our beachfront location and the relaxing atmosphere of our hotel. It is wonderful that you found the duplex room and the hammock with sea views so pleasant, as well as our gastronomic offer in the restaurant. We appreciate your comment about the stairs in the room and understand the concern. We are continually working to improve our facilities and offer a more comfortable and safe stay for all our guests. Additionally, your advice on accessibility will be of great help to future visitors with mobility issues. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you again, perhaps for a longer stay, so that you can enjoy everything we offer even more. Sincerely, The Management

So glad I chose this hotel. It was a definite slice of paradise. I had a room overlooking the beach, which was just gorgeous. My room also had a balcony with two chairs and a hammock. The staff was very lovely and friendly. The location is very easy for walking just a few minutes down the road to restaurants+shops. I did have dinner at the on-site restaurant one night and I thought the food was mediocre, but as everyone says the Mojito is excellent. Breakfast buffet was good albeit simple. Overall would definitely choose this hotel if I were to return to Isabela.

My husband and I had a lovely 4 night stay at La Casa De Marita. We had a fantastic room with a great view of the beach/ocean that we enjoyed from our balcony complete with hammock. The breakfast was very nice and we also enjoyed the one dinner we had there - the restaurant is on the 3rd floor and has a great view. They also serve tapas/wine and drinks on their first floor patio right on the beach. Great cocktails with happy hour prices! The staff is very friendly and super helpful. The hotel is just outside of the main area of town (6-8 minute walk) and also very close to the port. Highly recommend!

This hotel is ideal. The location is perfect: at the end of the beach in front of tidal pools with sea lions playing in the waves in the morning. Watch the amazing sun set, eat their delicious home grown food, spend the day on the beach or exploring the island. The staff are all happy and friendly. The owner is on site and could not be more helpful. One of our party was sick and she actually drove him to the clinic, arranged his care, and went to the farmacia; it was like staying with family. We went with friends but there were many families with children having a great time. We will go back to Isabela and to Casa de Marita.

The beachside facilities are fine.
Breakfast buffet good.
I had a mishap in the room. Shelves with decorating itemst than a vase and fell on me, falling to the ground and breaking. I checked bookshelves because I didn't understand why she fell. It wasn't flat or level. I talked to the manager or owner. He told me it was from an artist, he didn't say a name, he bought it 20 years ago, he paid $95 and he had to pay it. He looked like he had it in his house and when he got fed up, he put it in the room. He showed me neither invoice nor the value of his stock, there was also no price list in the room, meaning the one that the lady at the time felt like asking. It is not normal to have valuables in the hotel rooms without a price list in case there are any mishaps, or show anything. I left this hotel feeling very disappointed not to mention another adjective.

Casa Marita was the most visually appealing hotel I stayed at in the Galapagos. It's located directly on the beach with a style and decor to match - hammocks and bamboo and palm trees and bright colors abound. There are comfortable seating areas on the beach and views of the ocean from the restaurant and a well-conceived internal courtyard around which the property is built. The rooms are large and the furnishings are nice, though relatively limited as the other hotels in the Galapagos were without even a TV in the room. There was even a nice, stylish stone shower. The biggest issue I had was the tiny bathroom past the shower. I could barely squeeze through to the sink or use the sink or toilet without bumping my head on the sloped ceiling. Even worse was that the bathroom reeked with a moldy, mildew smell, probably because it was built into a corner with no ventilation. The smell remained even with the fan left on. I dreaded every time I had to use it and it detracted from an otherwise very nice hotel stay.

Had a lovely beachfront room with balcony. Only a few minutes walk from the centre of town and also the speed or drop off. Breakfast was good. Weirdly they moved our bed around the room after our first night! Thought we had gone in the wrong room. Bar service was slow but did good mojito and pisco sour. Only complaint was the lack of atmosphere. Think the hotel was fairly empty but we were the only people at breakfast and at the one dinner we had there. Dinner was nice , a bit more expensive than in town but not hugely so. Some items on menu were expensive and it says it is fine dining. Our meal was very nice but I wouldn’t call it fine dining

La Casa de Marita seems to be in the most beautiful setting on Isabela. It is right on the beach. We had a junior ocean view room, with an upper level that looked out over the beach and the palm trees. There are tables and lounge chairs to enjoy the beach and you can listen to the sound of the waves as you fall asleep at night. The staff was friendly and helpful. It was easy to get laundry done, we enjoyed the breakfast and dinners. It was close and convenient to Concha de la Perla. Such a relaxing and beautiful place!

This hotel sits on the beach and you can walk straight from the sea to your room, stopping only to wash your feet and stretch out on a desk chair with a drink from the small bar. The whole place has been personalized by the artist owner and has a vivid charm of its own. The rooms are clean and spacious with modern wet floor bathrooms. Note that such are the environmental conditions on Galapagos that your toilet tissues must be put in the small bin and not in the toilet basin. You soon get used to this. There are no TVs in the rooms but with everything else Isabella town has to offer it will not be missed. Quiet and comfortable rooms.
We had a garden view, (rooms are named, ours was called Jardin of course), but there are several with sea views. There are two levels for rooms and a top floor restaurant overlooking the sea. Breakfasts are served there too, and are delicious with a good selection made from local ingredients, some from the hosts farm.
This hotel is highly recommended and is very good value.

Many thanks Simon B for your review, sounds you had a great experience with us. As you wrote the hotel has been personalized by the owners, each of the rooms are different in its decoration, shape, etc... we love details and we are glad to read you could realised it. And yes we are not fans of TVs in the Hotel, the experience of Galapagos is in its nature and special biodiversity :). All the best and hope to you can come back soon!
