We were told about Posada Caminante soon after we arrived in town by someone who was staying there. What sold us was the existence of a kitchen. The place is on the edge of town near the soccer pitch. It's in a neighborhood away from the main tourist center. Puerto Villamil is very small so everything is in walking distance....

All you need is Ecuador, but if you are on Isabela Island then, all you need is Posada del Caminante. Great location and super comfortable, family atmosphere, nice and very helpful staff. There are actually two buildings only 80 meters apart from each other, your taxi driver that takes you there from the harbour will know if you tell him...

The hostel is located a 10 minute walk from the beach. The surrounding area is not very nice, but as it's Galápagos, it's safe. Staff was friendly, but not around most of the time and there was no possiblity (bell, phone...) to reach them. Wifi was very bad and the kitchen not well equipped. Rooms were okay, but without a/c....

Very friendly owner and staff, free bananas, good wifi. Lots of hammocks to relax and meet people and a kitchen outside. The rooms are spacious and good view from the top of Posada del Caminante. One of my favorite places after more than two weeks on the Galápagos Islands. Definitely recommend the tour to the volcano!

I stayed in the smaller Posada del caminante. I had a big 3 bed - room all to myself. It was basic but very clean. The owner is friendly and non-interfering. I would definitely recommend this place as it is safe and great value for money.

Firstly, note there are two Posada del Caminante. We stayed in the small one (one storey). The owner and his son were friendly and helpful. The accommodation was basic but clean, with free oranges and laundry. Nice hammocks to chill in, but very limited cooking facilities. Good value for what is quite an expensive island to visit.

We were not given the accomadation we booked. Please be aware that there are two Posada Del Caminante's. One that offers a private kitchen and one that has the kitchen outside and is shared. We booked a twin room with private kitchen. We were put at the very top of the hostel in a 4 bed basic room with not...

We were looking for a place with the kitchen, so this one seemed to be a good option, even it's a bit far from the center in comparison to other places. There are two hostels owned by the same guy which are located close to each other, the owner is running all day long from one to the other, so...

This hostel is basic but is a really good option to stay in Isabela. The owner and staff are very friendly and helpful; you will have free oranges and a nice place to relax outside. The only "bad" thing is the showers with cold water, but after some days you get use to it! I really recommend it

This is one of the cheapest options on the island. Also has free laundry, which is unique, and free oranges. The owner is usually around and is very helpful, very relaxed guy. Nice and quiet. Good after tiring days on and around the island.

“Don't go for room number 6, on the ground floor, closest to the reception. The water pump is right behind it and makes a loud, annoying “zzzzeeee” sound every forty seconds. Same might go for number 7, on the same side one floor up.”
