The room was spacious and comfortable, the staff was great, but the best thing about this hotel was the location. We were steps away from the ocean and the sound of the waves. We could walk to restaurants, to see the flamingos and iguanas, and to watch the beautiful sunsets on the beach. There was a place to wash the sand from your feet as you returned from your swim. The man at the front desk welcomed us as we arrived and helped us get situated. We appreciated the availability of fresh, cool water to refill our water bottles. A fun, relaxing visit.
The staff was amazing! So accommodating from check in to check out! The room was clean with comfortable beds. We were on the street side and it was fine. We were only there for one night. The breakfast was nice and the view was awesome! The young man at the front desk was so kind and helpful! I believe his name is Estalin. He went out of his way to make our stay wonderful! We had a great experience!
Had such an amazing time at the Casita de la Playa! As soon as we were dropped off at the beach-front entrance, we were immediately greeted by staff to help us with our bags and give us the run-down of the facilities. Everyone who worked there was so helpful and hospitable. The property itself is beautifully situated just steps from the beach and the lounge area on the front of the resort creates a casual and inviting place to relax and meet some of the other guests. The breakfast that was included with our stay was also great! Fresh juices, fresh fruit, bacon, eggs and pastries :)
After staying in various accommodations in the Galapagos for two weeks it appears unlikely that you’ll find accommodation (regardless of how much you pay) that is quiet. Such was the case at La Casita De La Playa. We had a comfortable, spacious room, on the ground floor that looked over the ocean. We opened the netted window and could hear the waves crashing - wonderful. Unfortunately directly outside our room tables and chairs were set up for guests. With the windows closed the the air conditioner on in the room we could clearly hear all guests conversations in our room day and night. We were woken at 5:15am one morning by guests chatting about their upcoming tour. My husband got up and asked them to keep it down. Aside from the noise, we enjoyed our stay. Staff were helpful and friendly. It was a nice touch that we were provided with beach towels each day as this is not common in the Galapagos. Most impressive was being able to use the hotel’s shower after swimming after we’d checked out and while we were waiting to catch our ferry in the afternoon.…
Due to time constraints, we decided to visit just one island in the Galapagos and do a land-based tour. This hotel is so close to the beach that my son ran out every morning to visit the marine iguanas. We walked to view the giant tortoises and flamingoes twice. During our excursions, we saw just about everything imaginable (penguins, blue footed boobies, sea lions, sharks, sea turtles, etc). Memorable trip, for sure.
