We were dropped off by motor taxi in the wrong location and hadn’t booked accommodation ahead. So Vijit was the only option to stay that night. The staff showed us the bungalow in the garden for 500 eur. Super small, dirty bathroom, no toilet paper, no soap, broken mosquito net, stains on the sheets. There was a fan, and we left all windows open at night, but the heat was still unbearable. Checked out next day to find a better & cheaper accommodation Can’t recommend it.

Stayed in the small bungalows at the back but can see the sea! Really nice relaxing place with lots of wildlife and fantastic beach. Staff are helpful and kind. The food & drink are fabulous and the view is amazing.

This place is great for a big group traveling together. There is a very wide range of bungalows on offer, so everyone should be able to find something they like. The staff are super helpful. They really took great care of us and helped out a lot. Additionally, the restaurant is very good, especially their Western dishes and their coffee. They guest house also provides free kayaks, which can be a lot of fun. The whole terrain is well-shaded with trees, and feels cool even on a very hot day. I'm definitely considering staying here in the future.

If you are looking for a five star hotel don't read on. Vigit is the most relaxing place I have ever stayed. Get up in the morning and swim in the sea then get on your shorts and walk to breakfast. Choose what you want and sit with your new found friends or in our case the friends we met last year as people come back year on year. The food it local and the fish is what has been caught today. You can walk to the village for a massage and lunch or stay at the vigIt. The tide comes and goes but at high tide there is safe swimming off the beach. People also went skinny dipping after dinner. There are no cars but taxis are mopeds that charge modestly for trip around the island. There is a bar and others a short walk along the beach. Hornbills can be seen in the trees and at low tide many wading birds. A paradise. You only need shorts a couple of t shirts and a bathing costume. The clientele are mostly educated people with interesting discussion over dinner. No really suitable for children.

Vigit is not luxury. When you arrive by moped taxi you are greeted by a scruffy entrance and view of the domestic area and piles of plastic bottles but dont let this put you off. The bungalows are basic with a fan but no air conditioning and a wet room with shower and no hot water. However you don't need hot water. The food is excellent Thai with some good wines and usual drinks, It is a place where people come for three months January to March and at GBP12 per night and GBP4 for a main course dinner it is cheaper than being at home. The clients are mostly professional people some retired and mix together at meal times or share a boat to go round the island. The beach is lovely but the tide goes out a long way leaving a long walk to the sea at low tide. There are a number of bars and restaurants within walking distance of take a moped taxi (there are no cars on the island) We swam after dinner in the dark with the fantastic phosphorescence sparkling in the water. Excellent for birders with Hornbills, Orioles, Sea Eagles and Sand Plovers to add interest to the day. The staff are excellent with Chris the English manager who is very helpful. You will need to book well in advance and get a bungalow at the front looking out over the bay. We have booked for next year! You wont be disappointed unless you like urban living. There is always something going on locally at the Hippy Bar or other cafes or resorts.
