This is the best destination and its best resort. I've loved all four visitis (and we have already booked our fifth trip). Our bungalow was great, the garden is beautiful, the breakfast offers plenty of choices, and the staff are always friendly and helpful. The location of Phayamas is perfect, making it easy to get anywhere else on the island.

We loved the tranquility of the resort and could imagine staying much longer if we had had the time! (We’ll come back!). Its nicely laid-out garden, scattered with spacious bungalows with attached bathrooms, swimming pool, and a short pathway down to a private beach without other tourists, is the perfect place to wind down. Couple that with a restaurant serving freshly caught seafood, which Katie, the owner, went to catch herself earlier that day, and… their own craft Phayamas pale ale (!) and it’s like a little paradise away from home. Even though it’s tucked away from the main road, it’s easy enough to rent a motorcycle and reach other spots on the islands within 10 minutes to catch the sunset, for example.

With lots of stress of house moving, my husband and I decided to take a break. We chose to stay at Phayamas Private Beach Resort, Koh Phayam for 2 weeks during 9-23February 2022. The hotel is situated in a nice location on a hill with beautiful scenery. They have an outdoor nice swimming pool, not so big but the hotel staff keeps it well cleaned daily.
The breakfast was very good. They had everyday different menu's for the guests to choose. They kept the guests feeling amazed. I think this is a smart gimmick from the hotel and we liked it a lot. The foods in the hotel restaurant were also very delicious and the prices were affordable.
The room and the bathroom were spacious and clean. There was a safe deposit in the room. The bed was also good and we liked it.
The hotel owners, Khun Tai and her husband including the staff were very attentive and helpful. When we were there, my husband was sick for a few days; Khun Tai provided us some medicines. Much obliged!💓💓 There are a lots of trees and Hornbills there. The place is very peaceful and still natural. You can see sunrise every morning there.
The hotel also provided the laundry service and scooters rental. The prices were reasonable.
The only downside is that the beach in front of the hotel is quite rocky. If you want to swim, you may have to walk a little bit further, then you can swim there.
Recommendation for the hotel: To change the lights by the beds to have a little bit more softer light. The rest is good.
In summary, if you love a quiet and beautiful place with nice services, we shall recommend this hotel to you.

Dear Khun Saowanee, Thank you so much for staying with us. It's a big pleasure to have you and your husband here 🙏🏽 I'm so grateful that you love our bungalow and facilities. It's not easy to maintain and keep the everything as tidy and new as it is but please trust us that we're trying hard every day. About the medicine, I'm more than happy to help out whenever I can so as to make everyone feels like they're at home. Words can't express enough how wonderful I feel to be a part of your memories in Koh Phayam. Thank you again for your kind reviews, I will pass it on to our team and will not let you down. Hope to see you again soon! All the best, Katie & the Phayamas team

We spent three days here in a deluxe bungalow, ate twice in the evening as well as breakfasts and rented a scooter.
An enquiry about the grades of bungalow was answered promptly and the transfer arrangements perfect. The bungalow was great and the general environment very nice indeed. Nice pool and the beach is fine for a stroll. Scooter rental also easy. So all in all a very nice place to stay; we enjoyed it and the accommodation provided a relaxing and stress free residence for the three days spent on the island.
My problem was the food as although breakfast was good other meals were not up to much. Apart from a dish of aubergine chips which were amazing the dishes were basic and uninspiring. Okay, it’s a restaurant on a small laidback island but I would rather eat elsewhere where dishes were interesting and tasty even if fairly basic. A fish of the day dish (same fish on each day we were there) was well cooked but I didn’t finish it and the accompanying vegetables just bland.
The restaurant shuts at 9pm which is fine but so too does the bar. You could buy a drink to keep you going but they just turn all the lights off when the staff leave. Come on, someone must be able to turn the lights off when the customers have gone to bed. And, no red wine! They sell white but not red?
I have given the place a score of 3 which is called Average by TA and that’s a bit hard but a score of 4 is Very Good and it wasn’t that. It was good, I was glad to stay there and if I ever went to Phayama again would probable stay there again. But you will find much better food easily elsewhere.

Fantastic hotel, fantastic owners. We came with a group of bikers, 26 in total to spend a few days on the island. The owners guided us around the island during 3 days free of charge. We discovered all the scenic points, the unique Hippy Bar, the Fisherman's Village with the owners. We were served a generous and excellent thai buffet for diner and enjoyed daily real value for money breakfast buffets The Resort is new and the rooms are perfect, each with an outside and inside shower. You cannot find better !

Phayamas is truly a special place - an oasis on a perfect island. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and serene. The perfect place to chill out surrounded by jungle greenery and the sound of the ocean only feet away. The food at the restaurant is also amazing, both Thai food and also their special homemade sourdough pizza. The staff are incredible. Not only are they extremely nice and helpful, but they also clearly work hard to provide the best experience. And it pays off!
Phamayas picked us up at the ferry, and then had scooters for rent so we could get everywhere on the island in 15mins or less. It's a great location away from crowds but close enough to everything you might need and all the beaches you want to check out. Don't hesitate to book here for your next trip!

It's rare you find accommodation that's small and friendly, high quality and reasonably priced. Koh Phayamas Beach Resort is just that. Room was clean and well decorated with a bed that was the best we'd experienced in Thailand. Food was brilliant and the staff excellent 👌. The efforts to be eco friendly also very noteworthy.

We had a wonderful visit at Phayamas. From the beginning of our communication with Katie @‘Phayamas up to the time we left Phayamas, everything went smoothly. Our bungalow and the whole property were impressive - clean, well-designed and well-maintained bungalow, beautifully landscaped property. More importantly, Katie and her staff’s attention to details for the comfort and enjoyment of their guests was remarkable. We were spoiled by the delicious meals and beverages at its restaurant. Transfer arrangements from Ranong airport to Ko Phayam (and return) that were arranged for us were flawless. Our stay at Phayamas was a perfect beginning to our land tour of Thailand and Cambodia. We wished we could have returned to Phayamas after our land tour.

We've stayed at many different places in Koh Phayam an our experience at this resort was by far the best. The resort consists of two rows of bungalows with a little parklike garden in between. Nr. 10/11 and 12/13 are doubles and you can hear your neighbors quite well. The rest of the bungalows give you lots of privacy. All have an inside and outside shower. We only used the outside one. It's a great experience. The breakfast buffet is amazing and varies a bit from day to dayso you'll not get tired of it. They have a nice little pool and direct access to the beach. Unfortunately swimming there is only recommended at high tide, but it's nice to hang out in the shade of the palm trees overlooking the bay or to take a walk during low tide. More suitable beaches are just around the corner. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. They even booked the trip to our next destination for us. It's a small resort and you can feel at home in an instance.

Although this place is a little more expensive than some resorts on the island it is well worth its price tag. The owner Katie has down amazing things with the place. The rooms were spacious, super clean and well designed. You can choose to have air con or not (air con is more expensive because the cost of electricity on the island is high). Both showers were really good and the outside one worked really well. There is a nice pool area which is more than adequet for the size of the resort and the views are breathtaking. If you are lucky you might see some hornbill birds in the trees at the end of the veranda by the restaurant. Talking of restaurant we ate dinner a couple of times and the food was fresh and tasty. The owner also makes sure of any special dietary requirements which was a nice touch that you don't see in many places in Thailand. Breakfast was a good selection of Thai and western dishes including eggs cooked to order. Staff were brilliant always happy and smiling and everything is so easy here such as hiring a bike (sort of necessary on this island), getting laundry done and putting items on the room bill so you can pay at the end. Real attention to detail such as delivery of water and loo rolls to the porch every morning, bamboo straws, free coffee if you collect a bucket of rubbish from the beach. All thoughtful ideas on how to be considerate to the environment. Over all we were really impressed and look forward to hopefully returning next year. Thank you to Katie and her team for making our stay memorable ❤️
