We spent 4 nights here and while it's not fancy, it's clean and beats camping. It has a nice pool, which was a life saver when the temperature was at 37 for 3 days! There is also a little shop where you can purchase snacks and souvenirs and a restaurant with a decent range of burgers, steaks etc for lunch... More

Stayed here for 2 nights in motel unit. Motels are pretty old and in need of updating especially when you are paying $175 a night. Restaurant is top range price wise but superb food. Absolutely beautiful spot with the gorge right out the back door.

We came to Glen Helen from Alice Springs with our caravan and family. We expected a caravan park and were provided with an outback experience. The absolute best points were without doubt the magnificent Larapinta Trail nearby. We walked it. We rode it. We loved it. That trail is truly world class. Other good points included the local waterhole, the... More

We booked for 4 and ended up staying for 5 nights ( which was free for caravan site) We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The resort had a very homely feeling that yes probably did need a bit of updating but that's what made it special to us. At night the entertainment was great with a very talented musician that would... More

This was our final stop along the west macdonnell ranges. We stayed here for one night. Got lucky with a powered site. Basically two rows of ten powered sites. Lots of cabins and unpowered as well. Easy walk to the gorge with lovely sunset. Lots of helicopter rides happening. Has a restaurant - need to book this as it is... More

The amenities are a bit dated, with lukewarm bore water, but clean. (You must remember that it is the outback). The entertainment 5 nights a week was fantastic, Chris Aronsten can sing and play instruments and is free to watch.

I thought this was a strange place ! Over rated in the brochure. We stayed in the bunk rooms as they wanted $175. For a room with bathroom not in our budget if you were planning to have dinner there? Expensive menu . We used the camp barbq👍🏽 found the staff uninteresting slow and not switched on ! Sorry but... More

We've really visited a lot of hostels, motels, hotels and campgrounds, but the glen helen lodge and homestead sadly scored number one place not to visit again. The pros: The location is good and swimming the finke after a day out hiking in the dirt is really cool. Also the staff was friendly. The cons: Our "standard motel room" was... More

With that in mind we focus on what we can control which is our standards of cleaning, our excellent staff and our... More

This motel is very very basic, the rooms and the furnitures are very old, the carpet on the floor belongs to the ones you better not touch, also the bathroom urgently needs refurbishment or at least a new shower curtain, the one in our bathroom was all black at the bottom, you don't want to touch that either. The location... More

Glen Helen is located at the western end of the West McDonnell Ranges and is the best accommodation. The campground has some grassed camping sites in addition to the usual gravel for caravans and motorhomes and rooms in the resort. The resort itself is a little dated, but has character. The amenities in the campground are very basic at best,... More
