Detailed Reviews
I chose to go to the hotel instead of the waterpark because I thought there would be fewer people and no kids. It was definitely the right choice. For $90 I received transportation to and from Mendoza, use of all of the facilities at the hotel, an excellent buffet lunch, and a one hour massage (which should be booked in advance). There were approximately 10 pools of varying temperatures and even a pool to exfoliate the skin on your feet using tiny pebbles. The massage room was open to the outdoors with the wonderful sounds of the waters flowing over the rocks. If you didn't speak Spanish having a massage and getting exactly what you want from a massage might be a difficult task The mud baths were fun and somewhat entertaining. There was an extra 40 peso charge for a robe. And there was a place to safely keep your belongings and access them at anytime of the day without charge. A perfect day.

we spent 4 days in 2017 and we loved every moment, the peaceful atmosphere, the incredible scenery and the spa surrounding the mountain river were nothing but spectacular. The staff were attentive, competent and very helpful. The males were simple but well prepared and served. We left very rested and promise to return.

We had a beautiful afternoon
The location is unique, we did enjoy and relax so much. Staff at the spa is really kind.
Unfortunately the day was ruined by a member of staff located in the reception area (but not with receptionist uniform) which he didn't care that we have been waiting for our taxi for more than a hour.
Asa our driver walked in, this person gave priority to other guys that booked half an hour after us, probably because they were more important than us
On the top, he allocated us a driver, not an official taxi as we asked, without taximeter letting us pay more than due.
As he fixed the price.. Shall we assume that his commission was included????
Just an advice to the hotel: please work more seriously, clients are not stupid
To all the people that join the hotel via taxi, make sure to book your return without hotel help

This place sucks! It’s very expensive, mediocre room, WiFi so weak that you can’t use a laptop top, the pool closes at 6:30 even for hotel guests. The list goes on and on. If you just want good instagram pictures and don’t care about anything else than I guess this is your jam. Otherwise save yourself a lot of money. It deserves zero stars

Good hôtel and good services. However, we were charged VAT and it was not given back to us by the hotel, which argued that it was a complicated process… every foreigner paying by credit card should be exempted from paying VAT, that’s the Argentinian law. All the hotels we went to took the VAT off but not them… we couldn’t get the taxes back at the airport as they’re only refunding VAT on goods, not services. So be aware of the practices of this hotel before booking.

Hey everyone, I hate to give a horrible (terrible, per TA) review, but I have to here.
I am from NYC, and I was coming from BSAS today to stay for one night at the hotel. When I called to make a reservation 2 days ago, I tried to speak in spanish but the folks were speaking over my head. (I always try and speak spanish in countries where it is the language, and usually they at least speak slowly with me so I can understand.) So, we decided it would be best to write them an email. First of all, the website can not take reservation like a normal website would be able to, so I could only email. After I emailed, I got no response for 24 hours! Then I called and asked them to check and they did and wrote me back and 'confirmed' my email reservation.
When we arrived today, they had no idea I had a reservation and I made them check the computer. They found my email and told me they shouldn't have made me a reservation and they didn't offer to do anything other than charge me to stay at the spa for the day. At 6pm I had to return to Mendoza or else I was going to sleep on the floor.
The jefe (manager) is a jerk and the lady at the front desk is really evil. I was about to spend $250 USD to stay there for the night... I'm a an idiot and I guess they saved me. Stay away from this place - sure the baths are nice, but go next door to the public one and say $100 (for a couple).
Write me an email or reply to this if you disagree you savages.

Response from TermasCacheuta, Encargado at Hotel & Resort Termas Cacheuta
Responded Jan 30, 2012
Dear Mr, First of all I would like to apologize for all the inconveniences this misunderstanding might have caused you. I think that it is also important to let you know that I receive your comment on 29th January 2012, that is why I am replying it today and not before. It is true that we do not have an on line reservation system, this is because our hotel only have 16 rooms and we prefer to take reservations only by phone or e-mail. It is also true that sometime we do not get to reply all the e-mails during the day, but we usually finish answering all the inquiries the next day or two days after, at most. In our first response we usually attach a description of all services and rates, but we do not confirm reservations, and if we, eventually confirm a reservation, we have to give a confirmation number. What I do not understand is if you reply this first e-mail that we sent you, because it said “To book, please reply this e-mail”. Can you please let me know? (you can send me a new e-mail to reservas@termascacheuta.com) It should have been our problem if you replied that mail and if we gave you a confirmation number for your reservation, but without reservation number you should have never thought that your reservation was confirmed. Anyway, anybody in our staff should have never treated you like you say. However, the manager is a lady not a jefe (man), so I really do not know who was so mean to you. For all the travelers who read this comment, I invite you to read the others (also the ones in Spanish, please), you will see how most of our guests say that our staff is very kind and polite. I will be waiting for your e-mail to personally apologize and confirm everything that happened to you in our Hotel. All the same, we are very glad to know that, that day, you could go to our Thermal Water Park. (Sorry for my mistakes, I am not an English native) María Inés Arroyo

We cannot rate the stay but we can rate the registration process. We reserved via booking.com but upon arrival and about to make payment, the receptionist said they did not accept credit cards. They claim their website states that but obviously the property failed to notify booking.com to clearly indicate this limitation. Adding insult to injury, the receptionist suggested we drive 15 miles back to the nearest ATM to get cash and then come back. What a way totreat tourists!

I went here for a day at the spa/hot springs. The floor boards were disintegrated in the natural sauna (due to the moisture) and I was severely injured after my whole leg went through the floor. The staff called a doctor however the extent of my injury was not clear until the next day. Since this time the hotel have ignored all my attempts to communicate with them and didn't even offer me a refund. The facilities are poorly maintained and there are many safety issues. Don't recommend at all. For the money they are asking, even if you aren't injured, it's a waste, you will be disappointed at how decrepit and run down everything is.

We arrived for our one night stay only to be told that our pre arranged 1 hour massage was instead booked as a half hour massage. Considering this was one of the reasons we booked to stay in a spa hotel this was disappointing but can be forgiven if it weren’t for the attitude of the staff. They offered no apology or further review into how this mistake happened, until we found the confirmation email we had received and showed them. At that point, they shrugged and passed the blame to their booking office. They did not seem to care that they have made a mistake. Obviously this attitude will only serve to upset your customers more.
The room was basic, with rough bedsheets and sparse amenities. Our robes and bedsheets were both stained. The thermal pools are ok but the whole site appears unfinished with a lack of signage, and the sink in the ladies bathroom was filthy and covered in hair. The lunch was good but other meals are average.
Lastly, I realised I had accidentally left my glasses in the room and drove 2 hours back the following day to collect them. I was told they had checked the room and they weren’t there. I can only presume the cleaners had stolen them by this point. Again, we received little support or help from the staff and the manager was the worst - rude, stand offish, and could offer no helpful solutions or apology despite dealing with a very distressed customer. Instead, she stood and shrugged with her hands in her pockets! The girl on the desk was more helpful but limited by the manager in what she could do or offer to help.
Overall, a poor and disappointing experience made 100x worse by the rude and unhelpful staff.
